You know that something special you possess and perform with great ease, yet those around you would struggle if they tried? That something special for me is event planning.

My firm celebrated its 13 year anniversary in September 2014! It was quite obvious early on to anyone paying attention that I was a professional Event Planner in the making. I actually negotiated my first vendor contract [with a DJ company for a dance] at the age of 13. I went on to plan fashion shows, fundraisers and events in conjunction with the Red Cross as a high school student. I began refining my party planning ingenuity throughout my time studying Mathematics at Spelman College. I even threw a huge birthday bash for my roommate that Andre 3000 of Outkast attended! I’ve since planned events with 400+ guests for Aramark Sports & Entertainment, private events for R&B/Soul legend Lenny Williams, the destination island wedding for actor Antonio Sabato, Jr. and the nuptials of countless professional athletes.

I’ve attended several events that were planned by J Squared Events and each of them were superb and all quite varied in theme, décor and venue. Jonette is an exemplary professional and brilliant at what she does. I unreservedly recommend her for any of your event planning needs.

Jon’ette did my wedding end of last year. I was referred to her by a friend that stated she did wonderful weddings, and that I would be stress free planning my big day. This turned out to be the opposite.
At first Jon’ette was very nice and gave so many ideas for our wedding, as we started to work more with her she started to change our views about what my husband and I wanted. I would explain to her what I wanted, then she would change into something I didn’t want. She even tried to back out of planning our wedding three months before our wedding saying that we didn’t trust her simply because we were giving ideas of what we wanted for our wedding. Later she decided to continue working with us after many emails back and forth to help us since we were only three months away. Jon’ette, then became very rude. She would only have conversations through emails, because she said she charged to talk on the phone with her. This is really silly because a bride is surpose to be able to speak with her wedding planner at all times. We told her we had a set budget, that she had us go way over changing her calculations every time we asked her how much a vendor or item would cost.
The day of our wedding, she texted my husband telling him he had To go by the store and buy last minute items that she should of done. She stressed him out, because she was trying to get ready two hours before our wedding. When our guest arrived she was very rude, when they asked her where they should be seated she said” over there ” not being polite at all. During our reception she stayed outside on her cell phone the whole time. She would make comments how people of color are always late, when she is a women of color herself. She didn’t let my dad do his speech at my wedding which he was looking foreward to doing. She didn’t have the dj announce us cutting our cake, so our guest didn’t even know. All of my guest said Jon’ette was rude and not a people person at all.
I would never recommend Jon’ette to do a wedding because of her attitude and how her planning skills are not professional. Her comments about people of color being late, how she said the brooch bouquet my mom made was ugly behind my back, and that she added more stress to us than we would of ever imagined to where I was in Tears. After our wedding she posted a picture of our cake from our wedding on her website that she didn’t ask permission to use, and sent a email lying saying that a vendor was going to sue us for non payment, when we had already paid everyone. My husband and I really wish we would of never hired her or even met her. If you want a professional wedding planner please do not hire Jon’ette Jordan.

Jon’ette really saved my wedding. I had approximately 400 guests and was extremely stressed out by all the tasks on my to-​do list. Hiring Jonette was the best decision I made during the whole wedding planning process. I knew exactly what I wanted and just needed someone to help with the details and make sure everything happened. She was patient, detail-​oriented, and very knowledgeable of nearby vendors. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing an efficient and professional wedding planner. She makes dreams come true!

I have no doubt that she would do a wonderful job planning and getting all the details worked out but a $ 6,000 price tag is just too much for the average bride. We were disappointed that she wasn’t more reasonably priced.
Now, on the up side, if you are willing to spend this kind of money I would definintely recommend at least setting an appointment with her.

), we always want to get along with the wedding planner. Jon’ette was exceptionally nice to us and took care of us with more attention than we’re used to! This is a testament to how great of a job she must provide to the bride & groom! During the wedding wherewe worked with Jon’ette (Catherine & Charles wedding on July 30, 2011), she made sure everything was on schedule and worked around the clock to make sure everything went together perfectly (the wedding was a success!). She’s really passionate about her job and it shows, she has a wonderful personality and is very friendly to work with. When it comes to putting together an amazing event, Jon’ette is your girl! Her professionalism, expertise, creativity, and effort exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds.
In planning our October wedding (in 5 months, no less!), Jon’ette provided us with peace of mind from our very first meeting. Jon’ette was referred to us by our wedding photographer and everything, from start to finish, was executed perfectly.
Some — of the many — personal touches:
— consistent contact, via meetings/​phone/​email, made us feel like we had the support of a team throughout the planning process
— thorough materials that helped us stay organized with regards to deadlines, budget, and even post-​wedding tasks (name change!)
— contribution and execution of ideas (from table cards to favors) that added both beauty and thoughtfulness to the event (our reception was at foreign cinema so we played off the classic movie theater theme)
— sourcing fabulous vendors — from the cake to various signage (her father professionally painted a gigantic ‘Mr & Mrs’ sign that hung above the bar and absolutely *made* the room)
— keeping calm and managing with grace throughout, and especially when things do not unfold as planned (i.e. the linens we had so carefully selected were not in stock) — a true testament of an excellent events producer!
I would highly recommend Jon’ette to help you plan your wedding. It is not just a special day, it is a special time and she will be sure you enjoy it!

We used Jon’ette this past August for our day-​of wedding coordination. From the moment we met with her, we absolutely loved her. She is extremely easy to talk to and get along with (as are all her assistants). She was such a big help during the planning process, meeting with us to discuss details and recommending AMAZING vendors. Jon’ette also saved us a few thousand dollars by recommending less expensive (although no less amazing) vendors, that I was not able to find through my own search
Although Jon’ette was only the day of coordinator, Jon’ette was very good at staying on top of what I was planning. I was worried that my plans would not translate well on the day of the wedding, but Jon’ette got everything perfectly right! She made the room look beautiful, and really seemed to understand my vision. She also seamlessly took care of all the problems that occurred on the day of the wedding — my husband and I never knew about any of them.

I cannot say one bad thing about Jon’ette. I desperately wanted a wedding planner because I wanted to enjoy my day without having to deal with all the stress that can come with the big day.
The first time my husband and I met with Jon’ette we knew right away she was the wedding planner for us. She gave us ideas for our wedding from the start and clicked with our style right away.
Jon’ette is a stickler when it comes to budget and I am very thankful for that. Without her I would have been WAY over budget. This is one of her best qualities. She kept reminding us that we can have our dream wedding and stay within budget. She is right!
She coordinated everything for us! She was always checking in with us, through email, phone calls, text messages, etc. making sure everything was going as planned and that we were happy. I loved that I got to «plan» my wedding without having to do all the dirty work (dealing with vendors, invitations, etc). Even on the day of we had a last minutre disaster and she told me not to panic (my makeup artist had an emergency) that she had already found someone else.
Jon’ette turned a vision of mine into an amaxzing dream wedding. I simply cannot say enough about Jon’ette and her services.

My (now) wife and I engaged in this process with the expectation that 1) everything will NOT go as planned 2) we want to have fun and enjoy the most special day of our lives and 3) we don’t want to deal with the noise of things (i.e., distractions, issues) that WILL take place on the «day of.»
Jon’ette delivered.
If I chose one thing that stood out, Jon’ette will go above and beyond to make sure your day is wonderful and special. My wife’s goal was «I want everything taken care of the ‘Day Of.’» When we met with other coordinators, we discovered they had numerous strings, charges and pressures to purchase more expensive packages to «take care of everything.» Jon’ette’s approach was clean and simple to understand.
She was always proactive, flexible and a pleasure to work with. She actively checked in with us to make sure things were moving forward as they should. She collaborated with our various partners and vendors behind the scenes to ensure everyone knew our plan.
The «Day Of «was the most special day of our lives and exceeded our expectations. While there were many people who made that happen, I thank Jon’ette and her team for their significant contribution.
