History

Established in 2005.

Kindermusik with Miss Lindsay & Friends was founded as a sole proprietorship in 2005 with a total of five students in three different classes. As word spread, the program quickly grew, and by 2006, it had already earned «Maestro» status and become one of the top Kindermusik studios in California. We now offer over 30 classes in seven locations with a growing staff of highly qualified teachers and assistants.

Business Owner

Lindsay Levin, M.A., is a fun-loving, energetic singer and educator with a passion for early childhood music education, an unabashed LOVE for babies and children, and a deep respect for parents and caregivers! «Miss» Lindsay studied Vocal Performance at Northwestern University’s renowned School of Music and graduated cum laude with a degree in Education. She also completed her Master’s degree in Education.

Lindsay believes strongly in the Kindermusik curriculum and our parent organization, Kindermusik International, which continually impresses her with its commitment to putting parents and children first and treating all parents, children, caregivers, and educators with integrity and respect. Lindsay served as President of the California Kindermusik Educators’ Association from 2005 – 2007 and California State Representative for the Partnership of Kindermusik Educators in 2008. Lindsay was honored to host the San Francisco Kindermusik Professional Development Conference in August, 2010.

Miss Lindsay is like the baby whisperer with music and instruments. My kids love her and her class! We initially enrolled my Toddler in her class but due to a conflict in his nap schedule, she was able to accomodate my 8 month old baby without question. We were originally in a similar program called Early Start Music in Castro Valley. This program is better in that registration fees are much cheaper and the class size is much smaller. How lucky are we to have such a great program in our area!

Ms Lindsay has a ton of energy and really involves the kids. She has a lovely voice and way with the children. The adults come along for the ride. We had to miss a class and there was no makeup class that worked. We were told to look at the website to schedule the makeup but all the classes listed were for the same week we had to miss, so I just decided to skip it. I didn’t enjoy that kids who were not engaged in the activities or were having a tantrum day were allowed to remain disruptive in class instead of being asked to step out and return when the tantrum was over. It redirected the energy from all the kids singing and playing onto one or two children. In the end it was fun but we are going to see what other kinds of activities are out there before signing up for another round.

I was visiting one of Miss Lindsay’s classes at it was amazing. I’ve been to a class before and to see the difference in kids that have been to classes more than one semester you can really see the difference. One kid I notice was shy and wasn’t engaging. The next semester she was dancing and singing with the rest of the classmates. It brought tears to my eyes to see such a difference. I totally recommend Kindermusik with miss Lindsay to all new mothers that really want to make a huge difference in your child’s development. You’re the best Lindsay. Thank you.

I absolutely LOVE Miss Lindsay and her music classes. We have been attending class since my daughter was just a few months old and it has been so much fun watching her love of music grow each and every semester. Miss Lindsay provides the warmest and most welcoming environment for her students and it is clear how much all of the little ones love her and her beautiful singing voice. All of the classes we have attended have been extremely age appropriate but at the same time push the kids to continue to develop and grow. I would recommend Kindermusik with Miss Lindsay to all families (my husband loves to attend class when he can and there are also grandmas and grandpas who join in on the fun from time to time). You will love seeing your child interact with the other little ones as well as watching their love of music grow week by week!

After researching the best of the best I found who won awards and was hands down the highest recommended class — Kindermusik with Miss Lindsay won. I wanted another point of comparison so I visited gymboree and observed one class. Next, I observed Miss Lindsay’s class and it was 100% better in all categories. I signed up right away. After attending the classes I’ve found the following to be true: Miss Lindsay has a contagious enthusiasm and joy for music and life. When I’m at her class I’m happy and beaming — this energy saturates my entire day. Miss Lindsay was professionally trained at one of the top schools so she knows her stuff and it shows. She engages all children from all age ranges and treats each one as if they were her own. My daughter loves Miss Lindsay. If you have a high standard for your child and only want the best — I recommend this class.

It’s all about Miss Shannon at Kindermusik! We have taken two classes with her on Thursdays at the SR Community Center and she is absolutely amazing. I’m not sure I have ever come across such a genuinely kind hearted and enthusiastic person as Miss Shannon. She loves every single child in her classes and makes them feel welcome and special. Gemma absolutely adores her (to the point where she wants nothing to do with me when we are in class (o;) Shannon knows how to communicate with children and make them feel confident and safe. My daughter is kind of an independent, free spirited type and Shannon doesn’t ever make me feel like Gemma HAS to participate. She lets the kids walk to the beat of their own drum, if you will. Every time we leave class Gemma starts doing something new! Definitely give Shannon’s class a try if you are thinking about signing up for Kindermusik. She’s the best!

I have had my now four year old daughter in Miss Lindsay’s Kindermusik class since she was 6 months old. I believe that this early musical education has provided my daughter with a life-long love of music! Miss Lindsay is so warm, sweet and fun loving with the children. She is a very gifted vocalist and obviously loves music herself which is so important for the children to feel. I would wholeheartedly recommend this class to anyone that wants to bring a love of music into their child’s life!

We took our first class with Miss Lindsay when my daughter was 6 months old, and again when she turned 3. Both times the class met our expectations. Not only did my daughter & I get to enjoy quality musical time together, we also enjoyed making new friends with other parents and their kids — friendships that have continued to grow! What I especially love about Miss Lindsay is that she truly engages each child — some like more attention than others, yet she makes sure the shy/less vocal ones get kudos too. I also appreciate that Miss Lindsay is very strict about not bringing a sick child to class, and makes sure the instruments and mats are cleaned in between classes. Highly recommend!

DD has been attending Kindermusik since September. «Miss» Lindsay is a wonderful and engaging instructor. I’ve seen my daughter’s language/social skills and love of music blossom since she started.
I’m not very big on «classes» for babies and toddlers, but this is truly one that your child will gain something from!

My son and I took several classes from Miss Lindsay before he started preschool. Since she was his first teacher the bar has been set quite high. I must admit she seemed bit too enthusiastic at first, but let me tell you I wish there were more teachers like her. From her program my son has definitely gained a great appreciation of music and I have learned that enthusiasm from a parent or teacher will go a long way in a child’s world. Thanks for doing the Kindermusik program, if we have any more little ones we will be back.
