I used to come here when it was open to get my hair cut from Azizeh. She always did a fantastic job on my hair. I was sad when I stopped in and found out the place closed and changed ownership overnight. Luckily, I found her phone number with a quick google search. She still cuts hair in Danville and in San Jose, so if you’d like a hair cut, give her a call :-)

4−23−12 — Oh my gosh — I went in to Mane Square Haircuts today to get a hair cut — said please not to short — WAY WAY shorter than I expected. Do NOT like the hair cut at all. $ 35.00 for a butchered job. Never again. Sent me away crying

Excellent place for hair cuts. We are new to the area and I have been looking for a salon for son’s hair cuts that does a beautiful job and is reasonably priced.
We were lucky enough to be scheduled with Azizeh on our first visit and have been with her ever since. She is a true artist and very consistent. We are very happy with her.
The place is modern and has several Tv screens and iPads. You don’t need an appointment and can just walk in and their prices are very reasonable. The wait time even when you do not have a appointment has not been long.
This place has been working out for us on every level.

Sweetness! Just walked in and there was a stylist available. Told her what I was looking for in a haircut and Elizabeth was able to give me back a great haircut. Very nice lady and she made sure the length was right. Even styled my hair just the way I do it (which is kinda rare). Shampoo was nice and relaxing. All in all just what I needed. Thanks!
Atmosphere was laid back but busy at the same time. Kids were in the shop, getting styled, haircut, and watching tv, all had smiles. Everything was nice and easy. I’m definitely coming back soon. The place is in a nice spot in San Ramon right by the freeway and parking is good too.

I usually get haircuts at the mall, but the last one was bad and I’ve just been waiting for it to grow out. So I searched for a different place this time and decided to give Mane Square a try. I barely made it in by 5:30 (they close at 6:00 on Saturday) — a good thing because I’m traveling in the morning and I really needed my hair cut. There were several people ahead of me, though, and only Azizeh and Roberta were working. In spite of the long hectic day they were both friendly while zipping around finishing up the last customers. I think some people before me left because they couldn’t wait. I’m glad I waited. Well after closing Azizeh finally had me sit down and tell her what I needed. She was friendly, professional and knew what she was doing. Now I’ve got a great haircut for a reasonable price and I’m ready for my trip tomorrow. Even after a long day Azizeh was energetic and funny.

Cruising home tonight, and traffic was pretty backed up — so I took the backroads home. As I got close, I get a text from the significant other that ‘gently’ reminded me to handle the situation that was my hair before I got home… Realizing this is the third or fourth time in as many days it’s come up, thought I should do something about it. Hit Unilocal on the phone, and boom — Mane Square popped up right near me; and I could not be happier.
Very upbeat, friendly, clean, and AWESOME. I met Toni, and she has totally won me over. She talked to me, listened to what I had to say, shared her ideas; and in no time flat — we had a plan and she was cutting hair.
End result — I can’t remember the last time I was this happy. In fact, she did such an awesome job, that the better half actually made me pull in as we were driving by on the way to dinner; just so she could run in and tell Toni how happy she is with the cut.
So friendly, so nice, and really care about the quality of their work.
They have totally won me over. What I also love, is that appointments aren’t required (but the place looks like the kind of establishment that would). I live a pretty busy life, and my schedule is constantly flexing and changing. Know there’s a place this nice that takes walk-​ins is just awesome.

Decided to give them a try after a bad experience with a chain salon and was very impressed. Much better customer service. Much cleaner and nicer ambiance. Highly recommended.

Mane Square Haircuts has a clean, crisp modern look and feel to it. A sign next to the sign in clipboard invites you to like follow and review them on social media (Twitter, Facebook, & Unilocal). There are six large screen televisions playing different programs on the wall across from the mirrors so you can see them whichever way you are facing. There is no sound, but there are subtitles on each screen in case you actually want to follow the thread of a show. There was adult contemporary music playing.
There was only one stylist on duty, the other one arrived midway through my hair cut, but I was seated with less than a five minute wait. The stylist asked me how I wanted her to cut my hair and really listened, asking pertinent questions before she started. She was very friendly, and told me all about the salon as she shampooed and cut my hair.
The salon is independently owned by a family who wanted to position it somewhere between the really expensive salons and the Supercuts/​Great Clips no-​frills salons.
A woman’s basic shampoo & cut is $ 35, $ 50 if you include blow dry over a round brush but no irons. Hair cuts for kids are $ 17, and men’s cuts are $ 22 – 30. It’s a little more expensive than Supercuts, but I got a fabulous haircut and am very happy with it! I have naturally wavy hair and usually have to blow it out straight and then use an iron on it, but she made it look better than I do with just the blow out over the round brush.
I would definitely come back here again as I’ll be up here another month before heading back home!

I went to Mane Square Haircuts last Saturday morning to take my 6 year old daughter for a haircut. I wanted to try something different than our usual Cost Cutters, which is hit or miss. We came here because of all the great positive reviews. First of all, the décor is modern and clean. There is a sitting area with magazines, an area with several TVs, as well as a sitting area for kids toys, etc. And did I mention they have IPADs in the waiting area which is a +++ for those of us who have little ones. The owner was friendly, personable and approachable. She has really catered to the whole family, which is great and makes you feel like she really cares about quality.
My daughter had a haircut with Effie, who was awesome. She was honest and open to my questions as well as provided me some options. She took her time and was great with my fidgeting kid. My daughter went to school on Monday and got tons of compliments. I recommend to anyone in the area who just wants a quality haircut with friendly service.

I took my 12-​year-​son to Mane Square a couple weeks back and did *not* have a great experience.
I chose to go to Mane Square instead of our normal haircut location because I found a coupon in mail that I was going through for a $ 10 haircut.
First, the positive — The location is close and well-​appointed. It looks clean and the iPads are a cute idea to keep kids entertained. Also, the man at the counter was polite and attempted to engage me in conversation — but that was where the good part of the experience ended and the only reason I gave them anything more than 1 star.
We arrived at Mane Square around 11 AM on a Saturday and did not have an appointment, so I didn’t know what to expect for a wait, but was pleasantly surprised that it seemed to be fairly empty. At the time we arrived there was one person leaving, one being called back to have her hair cut, and another already in a chair. With two stylists working and one of those halfway through a cut already, I assumed the wait would be fairly minimal.
Boy, was I wrong.
My son and I were the *only* ones waiting almost immediately after we got there, and it still took over 35 minutes for both stylists to get through their cuts (and as I said before, one of those was working on her client before we even arrived). If there had been a large number of people waiting to be seen, i would have understood the wait, but there was one woman who seemed to be working in slow motion. It was very frustrating, but not necessarily a deal-​breaker for me on its own.
Once my son was seated the stylist asked me what kind of cut he wanted. My son has a little longer hair than normal and didn’t want a typical «boy cut», so I tried my best to explain to her that he liked the style, but needed to trim it up a bit (bangs, back of the hair, etc.). She seemed to understand, so I let her continue and sat back down to wait. The time it took for the cut was reasonable, but when she was done and showed me the results I was shocked at how terrible it was. Honestly, I am not one to complain much when things aren’t exactly how I imagined them, but it was so bad that I had to ask her to fix it. I have NEVER had to do that before with anyone who has ever cut my child’s hair. Some cuts have been better than others, but this one was the worst he had ever had. It was a haircut you would expect to see on a girl, and certainly not one my son was anywhere near happy with. She did end up fixing the bigger problem areas I asked her to fix, but it still doesn’t look completely right.
By the time she was done I was more than ready to head out and walked to the register to pay. I pulled out my coupon and handed it to the man behind the counter and he looked at it a moment before pointing out that it was expired. Now, I understand he did not have to honor it and I was responsible for checking that before I came in, but I was really surprised that he didn’t at least offer to honor it — knowing it was my first time there. I have worked in customer service for many years and have always made an effort to go out of my way show first-​time customers a good first experience so that they *want* to come back. Was the $ 6 extra you got from me worth losing any future business and a bad review? I would say no, but that’s just me. He even said something like, «$ 17 is still not a bad deal, right?». If the experience is good, yes, but that wasn’t the case here.
I’ll keep my Sport Clips, thank you. At least there he gets a hot towel, a shoulder massage, and a haircut that looks like it’s supposed to. :p

**Updating Review — owner called me to apologize for the experience I had with this particular employee and offered me a 50% discount on a future service. I don’t want to rate the whole establishment based on how this 1 person treated me, so upgrading to 3 stars.
I hate to be the first person to leave a negative review here, but we did not have a positive experience when we tried to take our daughter in for her first haircut today. I felt the experience was disorganized and bordering rude.
Mane Square was not my first choice to take our 2 year old daughter for her first haircut, but my husband really wanted to be present for this experience, and Mane Square Haircuts is one of the only salons around open on a Sunday.
Several days ago, I called Mane Square and asked if I could make an appointment for Sunday afternoon. I was told they do not accept appointments, and to call again on the morning of the day we wanted to bring her in, and they would add her to their «queue» for that day, but I had to call on that day.
Sunday morning I call Mane Square a second time to add my daughter’s name to their queue. A man answers the phone and does not identify himself by name, so I don’t know who I spoke to (at all of my jobs, I’ve always had to identify my name when I answered the phone and I’m surprised that so many businesses nowadays don’t feel the need to introduce their name when they pick up the phone — it’s basic customer service!) He took her name down and said he was adding her to their list.
We arrived about 10 min earlier than the time we told him. We walked in and a woman who was about to cut another man’s hair asked, from her station, if she could help us (she had bright blonde hair and bright lipstick). I said that we had called this morning for my daughter’s haircut and was told that her name was added to the queue. She walks over and says «I didn’t hear a word you said» so I repeat myself… She then shows me the check-​in list on the front counter, which had about 5 names at the top with the rest of the page blank, and says «Do you see your daughter’s name on this list?» I said, «No, I do not, but I called this morning and spoke with a man who said he was adding her to your queue.» She actually said to me, «There was no man working here when I got here.» WTH?! Was she calling me a liar? I called the salon on speakerphone this morning and my husband can verify that I spoke to a man who said he was adding my daughter’s name to their list.
At this point, she asks me to write her info on the check-​in list and provide our name, e-​mail address, and phone number. Being shocked that I was being told our daughter’s name was not on the list and there was «no man working there when she arrived,» indicating that I might be lying about calling this morning, I flipped to the 2^nd page of the checklist and sure enough, there was my daughter’s name written on the 2^nd page with the note «call ahead 2 pm.» I pointed to my daughter’s name and said, There it is, she’s already on the list from when I called this morning. I couldn’t believe it didn’t occur to her to flip back to the 2^nd page to double-​check their list? Her name wasn’t on the first 5 lines of the first page so therefore she tells me she’s not on the list? The lady said it would be just a few minutes as all the stylists were busy with current customers. Being that we were «early» for our non-​appointment, I said that was fine.
My husband and I sat down but already had a bad taste in our mouths from this experience. We waited about 10 minutes and then decided to leave and take her to a real kid’s salon (dedicated to kids only) tomorrow. Giving 2 stars only because they had iPads which kept my daughter entertained for the 10 minutes we waited before we decided to leave.

Well, here is my follow-​up to my last review.
I went in last Saturday to get a haircut with Rola. One of my favorite parts about Mane Square is that you don’t have to have an appointment. I love that I can just come in when I need a haircut!
Of course she did a great job, asking me all the typical questions about my hair and how I style it. She did a nice job cutting my hair and blow drying it out. I wish I could dry it like that at home! I loved how efficient everything was from start to finish. I was in and out in less than an hour.
Will definitely be back in a couple months to see Rola!

I went to Mane Square today for a cut and came away a very happy customer. No appointment needed, no waiting time and a wonderful and friendly stylist. Effie cut my hair and had me looking great and on my way in no time. I’ll be back!

Exactly what I was looking for! I am in business and need a regular, quick, professional haircut. Rarely have time to make an appointment and do not want to run the risk of a messed up cut. Mane Square’s service is professional and they actually listened to what I wanted. No wait, very good price/​value, an extremely convenient location (costco, starbucks, petco, parking, highway, …). To boot, the ambiance with TVs, iPads, sitting area is so pleasant, I wanted to stick around longer. I will definitely come back with spouse and kids.

I recently went to Mane Square for the first time and got a haircut from Liz — she was super nice and really seemed to know what she was doing even though my hair type is pretty much the opposite of hers. She was great at asking questions to make sure the water temperature for shampooing was right, I knew how much hair was going to be cut off when layers were added, etc. She even made sure my hair was dry enough at the end because it was very cold out that night, and I only asked for a basic cut, not any styling.
The place has an upscale vibe/​décor while still having inexpensive services and being a place you feel like you can bring the kids. It’s a family run business, and it just so happened that the very nice couple that runs the place was there as I was leaving and they were very interested in my satisfaction with the haircut, where I had heard about them, and how I felt about the salon in general.
Great prices and I had a great experience, I would definitely go back.

I went to sport clips several times in the past few months and my hair has just been butchered. After reading the positive reviews about Mane Square Cuts on Unilocal I decided to give them a shot and let me tell you I am glad i did. First of all the customer service is fantastic. TJ is very friendley and makes you feel right at home. Next I have to give hats off to Hank for fixing my hair and doing an outstanding job. I am sold. I will be a long time customer for many years to come.

Took my 2 ½ year old in for her first «real» haircut, and received wonderful service from Rola. She did a fantastic job on my little girl, and was very sweet and was good with kids! Would recommend her and the salon to anyone looking for a kids haircut or adult. They also have a great and entertaining environment with 6 different TV’s, entertaining for anyone!

I went to Mane Square on Saturday afternoon. I was very impressed with the atmosphere there very high tech, IPad2 lots of Televisions great upbeat feeling.

I saw this salon being built as it is next to the Starbucks I frequently go to for my special drink. I met the owner, TJ, who is very nice and explained to me her motivation for starting a salon. Salon is very inviting with earth tone vibe mixed with high tech. I saw a sign in the window advertising a special price for first time clients. I hesitated to go in because I had been a client of another salon on SRV blvd. It was getting close to Thanksgiving and my hair was getting long for me, which really isn’t very long. So, I decided to give them a try.
I walked in on a Saturday and was greeted by Rola. She is very nice, professional and I sheepishly admit that she is very pretty. She asked me about how I would like to have my haircut. Well, my experience is to say, «I’ll have a #3 on the sides and back and cut an inch of the top». She acknowledged my request and took me over to the shampoo station, washed my hair and conditioned it. All the while she was conversing with me to make me feel at ease. To my surprise, she told me she had previously owned her own salon but moved because of a relocation. Rola really knows what she is doing! I am no expert but in my single life, I was getting my hair cut from a man who was Vidal Sassoon trained. Rola really took her time cutting my hair and except for the sides, gave an excellent scissor cut. To top it off, she rinsed my hair after the cut! Well, I must say that I am very pleased with my hair cut and have had many compliments.
I certainly hope that this salon succeeds and look forward to having many hair cuts their. Cheers to Mane Square!
