Dr. Place and her team are unprofessional, uninformed and unethical. Don’t be fooled by free consultation. They will tell you the consultation is free, only to grab your insurance information and bill you for services which are advertised as free. Any professional practice which need to build their practice based on deception and lies doesn’t deserve your business. Be aware, see other similar reviews.

I Went to this place for cool sculpting and they were supposed to call me for a follow up to take pictures and to see how it went and they never did. They got my money and I never heard from them after. I feel like a doctors office doing different types of procedures should follow up to show they care and are NOT just about the money. The pricing was ridiculous (thousands of dollars), so I seriously expected to hear from their office.
For those interested in cool sculpting (non-​surgical fat reduction) FYI The procedure did not work and the fat actually grew back more. It would have been nice for her office to see how the results were as testimonials but again seems like they were just in it for the money!

Miradry works!
I had a comfortable experience at Dr. Place office in San Ramon (Miradry). I am a very sweaty guy especially under my armpits. I would ruin my tshirts, and get embarrassed when I sweat. It could be 20 degrees outside, I would sweat through my shirt.
Before:
I went into the San Ramon office in the morning, (I recommend an early appointment), and the staff there was nice and made me feel comfortable. (I do not like needles… I have a history of passing out at hospitals, but I felt comfortable here). If you are nervous like I was, make sure to eat breakfast and hydrate, I get queezy easily. If anything the hardest part was shaving my armpits, the procedure was quick.
During:
The downside was I had to keep my arm up above my head for 20 minutes at a time, my arm fell asleep, I told the RN and she allowed me to lower my arm for a break. In regards to pain, on a scale 1 – 10, very mild at the most a 4 (it is more just a weird pressure feeling).
After:
Right after the procedure your armpits are numb, 3 hours later, it starts to feel like your armpits are sunburnt. I went to work after my procedure… I do not recommend. Keep ice close by, you will need it. Squeeze a water bottle slightly (4 total) and put in freezer night before, so when you feel pain you can put under your arm pits. (It really helps). (put a paper towel in between the ice and your skin). You will see some bumps and redness (totally normal). If you are a guy who is concerned about your armpit hair, it will grow back. Haha.
Happy:
I am so glad I got the Miradry done in my armpits. I have a lot more confidence, especially when I go on business trips and traveling. It is amazing. People ask me, «well if my sweatglands in my armpits are eliminated, then I will sweat more somewhere else»…not true, there are only 2% of your sweatglands in your armpits. The Best part is you will see results immediately!

I went to Dr. Place’s office for my second Miradry treatment.
The consultation was easy to schedule. I spoke to Dr. Place about the treatment — she was pretty knowledgeable. Then she said someone would be in to provide me an estimate on the procedure. I found the cost to be very competitive with a number of other places I received quotes from. All of the staff was very attentive and customer-​oriented.
On my appointment day, I got stuck in traffic and ended up being 15 minutes late. I am so glad they were still able to accommodate me. I expected Dr. Place to perform the procedure, since the main doctor performed my last procedure. A friendly nurse (sorry forgot her name) lead me to the procedure room, and told me that she would be performing the treatment. She was very attentive to my needs and wanted to make sure that I didn’t experience any discomfort throughout my procedure. She told what she was doing throughout the procedure, which was very helpful and calming. Apparently I was very hypersensitive, so she ended up needing to inject me with more lidocaine. This was appreciated since I assume that many offices skimp on lidocaine since it’s an additional cost. I believe the procedure took about an hour to an hour and a half.
Recovery was okay. It’s not too fun, but nice once everything has healed. I’m not sure why, but it took me longer to heal from this procedure than it did the first time (at a different office). I experienced more discomfort during the second procedure, so I’m assuming it was due to the way it was performed. Still worth it though. I noticed something odd on my right underarm about a week later. It looked like a scab, but also a little discolored. I contacted the office just in case it was an infection, and they were very attentive. They asked for a verbal description, and pictures via email. If I ever missed their call, they would always leave me a voicemail, and they were very focused on my concerns. It was highly appreciated.
Although the recovery was a little longer than expected, I would still recommend this office for a Miradry treatment. The price, especially for the second treatment, is pretty competitive, and the staff is very attentive and kind.

Dr Place has to be the best plastic surgeon. I had many different consultations, some doctors even out of state. None of them made me feel as comfortable and at ease as Dr. Place did.
She was so kind and never made me feel like she was in a rush, which is how the other doctors made me feel. She is so genuine and she truly truly cares about her patients.
The office is immaculate, so warm and welcoming, and her staff is absolutely wonderful, Shiloh is one of her nurses and wow she is so fantastic! They’re always there if you need to ask them anything. Dr. Place also gave me her personal phone number and email if I needed to get a hold of her at anytime.
So long story short, I had a breast lift, augmentation, and Lipo on my inner and outer thighs. I am post op day 3. My breasts are so amazing, no bruising, hardly any pain, just pressure. And my legs are hardly bruised at all and very little pain as well.
Her work is incredible. Bottom line. Don’t look any farther then Dr. Place. SHE IS AMAZING!
Ladies and gents if you are looking for a plastic surgeon please don’t bother looking anywhere else. She will be my doctor for life!

I have permanent nerve damage following the breast reduction Dr. Place did on me about six years ago. I have limited use of my right arm and if I overuse it I get horrible pain emanating into my breast. My areolas are at least two inches higher than they should be. They are physically embarrassing for me. I have no sensation other than pain when my nipples are touched. I have numbness on the right side of my right breast. I asked for a large D cup and I’m a G cup! (Yes, I was even huger before, but still a G cup!!!) My primary doctor told me to find someone else if I ever decide to fix this (but it will cost me thousands of dollars to do so and it will be more for aesthetic purposes and not for the pain and numbness resulting from the surgery.) I would stay away from this doctor. My reduction had so many terrible outcomes and she offered NO help on follow-​up and related to me that it’s normal to have your areolas off-​center (she measured and decided they were in the correct place, although any moron can see they were placed way, way off center and too high — almost in my chest)! She seemed so convincing and experienced at our consultations, but I wouldn’t trust her!!! Do not let this doctor touch you!

Let me be very clear. Her prices are WAY higher b/​c she doubles the areas.
What’s more upsetting is her totally manipulative communication with her staff. her staff quotes you one price when you call, you ask very specific questions and they assure you yes it will be xyz in fact they said it would be less, so m expectations were 2600 – 3000 at the most and then after meeting you she has another staff member come in with a bill 4500.
Numbers don’t Lie, Dr. Place does.

I am VERY disappointed in Dr. Place. I had a very invasive procedure several years ago then just went back for a lip enhancement two months ago. Following the lip enhancement, my right top lip became much «fluffier» than the left. I went to see Dr. Place after the first month, and she advised me to massage it for the next couple of weeks, so I did.
Another month goes by and no change what so ever. So I had another appt today ⁹⁄₈ and she tells me I need to pay another $ 250!!! She states she put the same cc on both sides. How can this be? I told her I cannot pay another $ 250!!! Total $ 750 for this!!! She refused so I walked out and told her I was go elsewhere! She just lost a good client that has given her many referrals. Your loss Dr. Place!!!

Although I had fantasized about cosmetic surgery for years, I never thought I could seriously go through with it until I finally had a complimentary consult with Dr. Place. She answered all of my questions, offered simple, easy financing and put all of my concerns at ease. I am now 14 days post op and so glad I finally had the courage to take this step. She did an excellent job. I researched my procedure extensively and not all patients have scars/​results that look as good as mine. I highly recommend her.

I went in for a 5 minute consultation (that cost me a $ 20 co-​pay) and was given false information. She was unprofessional and just plain rude.

I’ve seen Dr. Place for a few things. My nose was disfigured and she corrected it. Along with that she fixed my forehead and now I can see. She is a wonderful Surgeon. I have my confidence back, thanks to her. I can finally go on with my life. She has made a difference. I recommend Dr. Place whole heartedly.

I signed up with Dr. Place for a restalyne filler. After our consult she advised me how much filler she thought I would need for my marionette lines around my mouth to get the desired results. I am in my sixties and never had anything done before so I was skeptical but went ahead because of her confidence.
The results looked great when I left but when the swelling went down I was left with little bumps under my skin. I was assured they would go away. Its been two weeks later and they are still there. The area is not very smooth that she injected. I went back for a consult explaining my concerns and her answer was she thought I looked great and suggested more injections. I had a major problem with that since I did not like the results for $ 800.00.
I run my own business and if someone is dissatisfied I ask them what can I do to make their experience more worthwhile. She never asked that question.
I would not recommend her services. After some research, I found out the injections of collagen need to be dispersed evenly so there is not that bumpy appearance.

I have left messages, I have sent an email, I have submitted an online form. And I can’t get a call back? Dr. Place should be ashamed to run a business like this. Meh.

I am so pleased with my outcome on the procedures Dr Place performed on me. The improvements were very impressive. I would highly recommend Dr Place to anyone.
I am also a nurse. So that may have some influence on choices. I have seen Dr Place’s work on other patients and on myself she is consistently great!!!

Dr. Place is wonderful! She has made me feel so comfortable and taken care of (not to mention my results are outstanding)! Her entire staff is friendly and considerate.
It is not often that I enjoy being at a doctors office, but my experience here has been nothing short of outstanding. Would HIGHLY recommend.

I have been going to Dr. Place for laser hair removal and absolutely loving it. To me, it is completely painless and the results so far are great. The nurses who work there are all very nice and do a great job. I never felt uncomfortable during the whole process, which is why I have been recommending this place to everyone.
I even went to Dr. Place for fillers since I heard she does all the fillers and botox herself. Meeting her put me at ease, since she is a very kind and knows exactly what she is doing. It didn’t even hurt like I thought it would. The fillers look great and the best part is that they will last several years.
This place is the best, come here and you will not regret it!

Five years ago, I got breast reduction surgery by Dr. Place and it was a mistake choosing her. I love having so much less boobage to deal with, believe me, but I really should have picked a more competent doctor.
The people in the office are nice enough, the Doctor is pleasant, and the facility is nice. Unfortunately, she did a terrible job on the surgery itself. When I called after everything had healed and settled into place to ask if she would be willing to see me and assess her crooked, shoddy work, the receptionist basically said it wasn’t their problem. I was welcome to make an appointment but anything I had done there would be entirely out of pocket, that they wouldn’t be responsible for leaving me with crooked scars and puckered skin. (It’s pretty unpleasant and, while it’s not great to admit to the world that I have a train wreck pair of boobs, it’s preferable to some other woman ending up with the same issues.)
I’ve had another surgeon assess me since and I was told her work was poor but that, because any surgery done to fix the issue would be cosmetic, I will have to pay out of pocket to get it done. So, once I have the money I’ll be paying another doctor to fix the work Place did, unfortunately.
If you’re looking for cosmetic surgery, find someone else.
edit: In response to the strange comment left by the doctor herself, my issues are not that I have scars, but that the actual work done was poor. No «lift» was done and the stitching left me with puckered skin and one breast which is not rounded at the bottom. If I could be assured the doctor would fix the issues without my having to pay for it, I would consider making an appointment when we visit CA. I live in WA, now, though, and it’s not as simple as just showing up. My original call to the office was two years after I’d had surgery, which was when I’d heard from other women that, if things hadn’t change since the surgery by then, they wouldn’t.

I like many on here got a groupon and I fell in love with this place. Every one was warm and friendly. Very rare to find now a days. They made you feel welcome and you are well taken care of. I will be sure to pass this place along to my friends.

The facility is very nice and clean. Paperwork was quick and easy.
I got the brazilian laser hair removal and the treatment took no more than 15 minutes. I did not see Dr. Michelle Place, but Mary (one of the nurses) who did my treatment was very friendly and informative. She mentioned she was one of the three nurses that worked there and they would be doing my treatments.
I also loved that their jars of candy were full of Ferrero Rocher chocolates. The entire appointment took about 40 minutes. I look forward to my future treatments.
