My wedding was 7-​14-​2012. Review 11−11−12 says his wedding was 8−18−12. I haven’t heard from this guy since he ate my cake and got into my photographers pictures 7−14−12!!! You do the math. If not PLANTED, the previous review is entirely misleading. Terrible communication to say the least, and he has not shown a hint of professionalism from the moment we hired him at STARBUCKS to where we stand with no attempt to communicate on his part 6 ½ months later. Shame on me. When confronted six and a half months later about progress all he says is it’s not the 9 as in 6 – 9 months per contract. When confronted about review posted 11−11−12 about 8−18−12 wedding (over a month after mine!!!), he says Luke G. paid more to get faster results. Unlikely as MSV was our highest paid vendor even though our wedding was not in Rochester, MInnesota. Is this someone you want eating your food, getting in your pictures, and taking your money to be a part of your day? I cannot attest to the results as I have ZERO to go on, but I doubt it will be worth the bs, and at this point I regret doing business with this «company».

Andrew Hsu of Studio MSV shot our August 18^th wedding, 2012. We’ve seen a lot of his work and are always impressed. (We haven’t received our wedding film, but we know this takes time).
He was so relaxed and a great stress free presence at our wedding. We couldn’t be more happy having him as our videographer. We barely noticed him throughout the day and he’s extremely unobtrusive.
My wife Pamela and I are in the wedding industry (we shoot wedding films) and our vendor choices were very specific, having shot and attended over 200 weddings ourselves.
We had a simple, lovely garden wedding at the Plummer house in Rochester Minnesota (it was a destination for us coming from California).
Update #1: I’m not sure what John V review on 2÷2÷2013 is talking about. We haven’t got our film either, but as stated in our contract delivery is 6 – 9 months, which is completely understandable seeing as it takes many hours to create our video.

I looked around for a videographer for a while, trying to take in the right style and approach to a short video that would suit us as a couple. When I came across Studio MSV, I thought that the quality of the films were exceptional, nothing was forced or contrived and everything seemed to look perfect for a wedding movie. I know that I didn’t have a lot of money to spend, but I really wanted to make a short clip of our wedding. After contacting Andrew and working out what package we wanted, I felt really confident with making this decision. When we met him in person before the wedding, that confidence was solidified from his warmth as a person, his professionalism and just being able to sit and laugh with him over a cup of coffee, discussing all of the wedding details. I couldn’t have been happier with having him as our videographer, he made an incredible video that we’ll be watching and sharing with people for years.

I would steer clear of this company. I used him for our wedding and we didn’t get the video for almost a year. Thank goodness we had a few professional photographers that were top notch and less expensive than Studio MSV. The other reviewers are right when they say he is not a professional and there are many other video providers that are better artists, more prepared, polite during the wedding and after, and delivers the service on a timely basis. It is amazing to me that he thinks its ok to deliver a wedding video almost a year after the event. I know if it was his wedding or special event, he would want to view the video very soon after. There are so many great videographers in the bay area. Use this company if you want to be abused.

I saw a Same Day Edit in Oregon and was on a hunt to find someone in the Bay area who could do it for my wedding. After searching hard I met Andrew at a Bridal Faire in San Francisco and HAD to book him.
Andrew was friendly and available in every email and phone call. Before the wedding I realized timing was off and Andrew worked around the schedule so he could get everything I wanted him to get footage of the day of the wedding. He stayed WAY past his paid hours and showed a final product that leaves me speechless and in tears. He is incredible and it is something I will have now my entire life. I have had tons of people see the video and comment on how amazing it is and the emotions it bring out.
Andrew is an artist through in through. He has high quality work and knows it. His confidence allows him to produce something better than you even can imagine. He is worth every single penny you pay for him.

Here’s my honest review of Studio MSV, Andrew H.
After much needed research, my wife decided to go with Andrew for one main reason: the quality of his work. So being a supported hubby, I agreed.
So here’s where we have so many angst and uneasiness with this decision, and wish we had gone with another videographer.
1. Right from the get go, Andrew made it very clear that his hours are his commodity, where he charges by the hour. After some effort to negotiate with Andrew, we failed. Since my wife had already made the decision, our attempt to negotiate was useless b/​c Andrew was VERY adamant about his pricing and strict number of hours. So we gave in! We walked away thinking that well, if he’s so strict on the hours, we hope that he’d live up to his side of the handshake.
2. On the morning of Wedding day, Andrew showed up 30 min late to start shooting, where as our photographer slept over night to ensure that he captures the preparation footage of the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready.
3. During the Ceremony, only 2 camera men showed up when our contract says 3.
4. Our contract with Andrew also states that the 8 MM film will be used during the shooting of the ceremony, and it wasn’t. Andrew’s excuse was that «oh fast action, i forgot». Completely inexcusable since we do not go through the ceremony twice. who does?
5. Everything was said and done, after the whole wedding day was over, we did not point out any issues with Andrew and hoping that he comes to us with his mistakes. You guess right, he didn’t!
6. On our contract, it states that it’ll take roughly 9 months to deliver the final wedding video. So we waited patiently, and 3, 6, 9 months had gone by, no curtousy notice from him stating that it’ll take more than 9 months. When I asked him, how much longer it will take, he was reluctant to answer in a vague time frame. We decided to meet up with him in person to discuss the issues after 10 months had gone by (no video yet). After much discussions, he agreed to refund some of the $ for the 8 MM and the 3^rd camera man mentioned above that he did not come thru with.
Finally, almost a whole year, the video is finally delivered. We watched it, it’s good but not worth 8k… more in the neighborhood of 4k max. Here’s my honest opinion, Andrew’s work is good, but not at the price he charges his customers good. Comparing to my friends wedding video and how much they paid, the quality and craftsmanship of Andrew’s to that of my friends’ videographers, no doubt that Andrew’s work is a bit more edgy, crafty, and unique, but dealing with Andrew and his promises was a huge headache.

Words of advice, if you’re adamant about hours, pricing, etc, please come through on your end and be curteous to your customers and keep them in the loop when they’lll get their video. Last but not least, don’t wait til the bride and groom point of your careless mistakes, come to them before they do and apologize.

(first 5min was indeed tear jerking. One can tell Andrew put ample of time making it classy, perfect, dreamy and full of gorgeous colorful details). He even added a ‘Special’ chapter for me… rewarding me for my patience!
However, the rest of the video was sucked into a black hole. During the ceremony, I repeatedly requested portion of the priest speech to be added and after the THIRD try, he finally inserted a voiceover BUT it’s hardly recognizable. Songs thereafter, were in ‘chunks’…overall mood fell flat. We argued, Yes argued about the length of the video, the lighting in the video, adding songs to the video, deleting unwanted portion of speeches. It was heartache for months…
Customber service: ever heard of that? Probably not…
Rude!!! Wedding videography, it’s not just about being good at what you do but it’s really about communication with your clientele and caring… regardless which price package your client picked. If you cannot deliver in a timely matter, be honest.

I love love love love loooove my wedding video and can’t help watch it over and over! Andrew truly captured our event as well as the emotion we all faced during the day. He doesn’t film the typical cheesy wedding video which is long and boring. His approach is more artistic which I truly liked.
Each time I watch the video, I want to re-​live the moments. The quality is also amazing. I recently showed the video to my bridesmaids and they all watched it in awe. They said it looked like an actual movie as the film quality is so crisp, clean, and smooth.
Hiring Andrew is one of the best things we ever did. His professionalism is what drew us to him. He has a great personality and was so easy to work with. He was also very good at communicating with us and answering the many questions we had. Thanks to him, we can share our moments with friends and loved ones which is truly priceless.

We hired Studio MSV for my stepdaughter’s wedding and couldn’t have been happier with the results. Andrew is creative, talented, and fantastic to work with, unlike some vendors who can often have something of an attitude.
Andrew came to the house and the church in the morning to take some stills before the wedding. He didn’t get in the way and wasn’t draconian about putting people or props where he wanted them, and he listened to what we wanted. He was a consummate professional at the ceremony itself, and the results of that shoot were outstanding.
BETWEEN THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION — we’re not talking about a ton of time here — he took the shots from the morning photo shoot and some that we’d supplied him with an made a beautiful photo montage video that we showed at the reception. There wasn’t a dry eye in the audience.
