Kyle Racing

This is a long review but one worth reading.
When it comes to suspension you need «Experts» with experts have to come people that listen and understand every rider is different as is every machine. Kyle Racing Has my vote! OHLINS is a product you truly only want to invest in when the right experts are setting it up and understand it. My HONDA RC 51 was in desperate need of some suspension TLC. I spoke to Matt at OHLINS AND he referred me to KYLE Racing Since it’s a motorcycle that was limited in production and though loved by many only one dealer (happens to be the largest OHLINS DEALER in the USA builds the AMAZING 30 mm full OHLINS cartridge kit for the all mighty RC 51 they also rework a 20 mm re valve option with new springs bushings seals fluid etc, however I went for the full kit having used these in my 08 R6 race winning R6 ! In short though patience is needed if you wait until riding season due to lots of customers wanting the experts to set up their suspensions I highly recommend Kyle racing for all your suspension needs! You will never know what you’re missing in that amazing 2 wheeled bullet unless you let Kyle and Mike wheeler set you up ! I’ve been a customer of most all of the local bike shops — at one time or another — over the last ten or so years: 831, Power Sports, Seaside Super Bikes and also Kyle Racing. I also buy plenty of parts on-​line and wrench on my own bike as much as possible.
As with most things in life, if you look hard enough, you can always find both pros and cons to any situation — and it’s no different with Kyle Racing (or any of the local motorcycle shops for that matter).
With regard to Kyle Racing specifically, sure there are cons, but as a whole, I think most of the negative aspects of dealing with Kyle Racing are outweighed by the positive benefits of the company and the parts/​services that they provide.
As one of the other reviewers noted, Alex (who, by the way, no longer works for the company) was a bit of a sore spot in some ways. He could be a bit brash and difficult to deal with at times, but he could also helpful as well. One might sum it up by saying he definitely had a very colorful personality!
The owner of the company, Dan Kyle, is very knowledgeable about motorcycles and is also very well respected — not only locally, but also worldwide — when it comes to motorcycle parts, racing engines/​parts and also just general racing expertise. Yes, if you catch him on a bad day, he can be a bit short with you sometimes. However, overall he generally always seems very willing to take time to help fellow motorcycle enthusiasts out and I have found him to be very helpful and pleasant to deal with 99% of the time. He definitely does not sugar coat anything though. Dan will just tell you like it is, good, bad or ugly — and personally, I appreciate this, especially when it comes to something as potentially risky as the sport of motorcycle riding/​racing.
Outside of being a world class race shop, the company has a first rate in house CAD design facility. They produce many parts in-​house from what I gather and they also are distributors (and provide service) for Ohlins and Sato Racing parts. If I’m not mistaken, they are also one of (if not the) largest Ohlins dealer in the USA as well.
Again, most companies have their pros and cons, but with Kyle Racing, I think it’s fair to say that the pros of doing business with the company far out strip any small negative aspects which may crop up now and again.
Overall, I’m a happy/​satisfied customer and typically Kyle Racing is my first stop when it comes to attempting to do business locally.

Took my Harley rim to get a new tire, that I purchased online, at Kyle Racing. I work in Monterey and headed down during my lunch. Changed the tire and balanced super quick. I still had time to run and get my lunch on before I went back to work. Super efficient. Definitely going back.

Dan Kyle is the owner and operator of Kyle Racing Engines. Together, with his modest team of Liz on the business operations and Alex, product specialist, they run a very efficient, neat and tidy operation.
Whatever Kyle Racing carries is premium equipment. Kyle Racing is also the largest dealer of Ohlins, so if you are getting Ohlins, chances are, it left his shop. However, when its time to buy the coveted Ohlins components, you are probably not going to want to venture anywhere else but here. Other places might cut you a deal, but when you buy your Ohlins Equipment from Kyle Racing, they Spec out each item for your: weight, motorcycle and type of riding. All you got to do is unpack, install and enjoy!!!
Dan’s a no BS kind of guy, so if you are looking for bed side manner, go elsewhere… he’s there to tell help you get what you need, not what you don’t want.
They are also the west coast distributor of Sato Racing components. I have used every component of Sato Equipment and I have never been disappointed with their stuff. don’t buy the chinese knock offs that try to pass themselves off as Sato, get the real mccoy.
