Sand Springs First Assembly of God

This place is a total surprise. Not all older people and not all crazy youth, I think they have a great mix and you can really feel good about being a part of the service here.
Sermon and Pastor: Pastor Ken Lane is phenomenal and one of a kind. He does not hold up the whole church on his own tho, there is a team effort. He does very well in the sermons and you can tell he is intelligent and intune with the spirit. He uses old and new pop culture references which allows him to not be stale with any crowd and he loves puns. He peppers those in as much as possible I think. He even records his sermons so that you can go back and listen to them again, or if you miss church you have the ability to go and listen to it from the internet.
What I think I like most about him is that he truly cares about his calling. He recently moved here from a small Texas town and took to Oklahoma and the congregation immediately. Within just a short time he knew the ins and the outs, the peoples names, the worries and the woes. He attends almost all the church functions and you can truly understand that he is a man of God.
Choir: The choir keeps getting better and better. What is fun is that Pastor Ken Lane joins for the bigger numbers during the service and you can see that he enjoys it. The choir has its own director and is very active with the church as well. I have seen other directors who treat this more simply and he really takes it seriously and joins in the service to lend a hand as well.
Congregation: They are as lovely as they are diverse. I have always been welcomed with open arms and even get suck little snacks every once and a while from the kitchen. They are active during the service and they care deeply about everyone in the community not just in the church.
Special Events: I have been to two big BBQs and it has been so much fun! Lots of food and the people can make some mean good BBQ. Also, they have some chori events and bible studies that are very fun to go to.
All and all this place looks great to the point where people actually film at this location. I really enjoyed the sanctuary and the stain glass. It really makes me feel the spirit there and puts me in a place worth worshiping.
