Annabelle Bed & Breakfast

This place was accommodation perfection! So adorable, and very relaxing. We actually stayed here last September, but now that I’ve finally joined Unilocal I had to go back and review this place. My shiny new husband and I stayed here after our Cape wedding for a short honeymoon, and it was a wonderful experience. We had never been to a bed and breakfast before, but after this visit to Annabelle we won’t hesitate to opt for a B&B again. The owner was so friendly, welcoming and — Wow, can she make a great breakfast! We informed her ahead of time that I am gluten free and she was on top of it every morning. She always had some delicious options for me and was eager to make sure I was happy with the meal. As someone with a gluten problem, I really appreciate when a place can prepare GF without making me feel like I’m burdening them. One morning she had overheard me saying how much I liked one of her spiced apple teas, and the next morning she made sure the tray was full of that flavor. So sweet!
The house itself was very peaceful and romantic. We were there in the shoulder/​off season though, so it was pretty empty and that may have enhanced the quiet and intimacy. I can’t speak to what it’s like in the high season. The room we chose was immaculate, cozy and comfortable; the gardens were beautiful and quiet; the whole house just has a bright and sunny feel to it. I loved relaxing on the lounges on our room’s private back deck after a long day of sightseeing. I can’t wait for our next chance to go back!

Annabelle was the *perfect* location for a post-​engagement celebratory weekend for my fiancée and me. Paula and the rest of the staff were amazing in terms of helping me plan things ahead of time and being incredibly welcoming when we showed up.
As a younger couple (we’re both in our late 20s) we haven’t stayed at a lot of B&Bs but the level of service was amazing. Paula got us a reservation at a restaurant a quick walk away and made sure they had a romantic table by the fireplace waiting for us. She clearly cares about her guests and made absolutely sure everything about our stay was perfect. And it was!
Breakfast in bed was spectacular and the perfect capper to our weekend. We can’t wait to go back!

the breakfast in bed was Freaking good.
blueberry french toast that’s very eggy and soggy. with sausages. half a cup of OJ. and tea. with chocolate dipped strawberries.
