Best Western Plus Timber Creek Inn & Suites

Stayed in the hotel and this place is terrible. The TV is nothing but static, the bathroom door doesn’t close, the ambience is ehhhh. Now, with that said I would rate the actual room a 2.5, as far as the bar… if I could give it a zero I would. We waited 30 minutes for drinks and there was literally 5 people there. When she finally took our order, which was a Merlot and a jack and coke, she got it wrong. We came here for a banquet for my daughter’s school and it was catered by timber Creek and the word terrible doesn’t give the food justice. They might as well have served us dog food and called it chicken. NEVER ever coming back here again.

Okay, this is a tough call. I am going to give the place 3 stars but with a warning: do not expect the wifi to work. And if you are an ATT cell-​data customer, you will be doubly denied Internet in your room because the whole hotel sucks electrons out of the sky before they can pierce or escape its walls. You will have to go outside to the smoke pit in order to even check your texts. Forget getting cell-​phone calls in your room inside this GSM-​proof fortress of electronic solitude.
And the wifi? It is nothing but an exercise in frustration. Half the time you can’t even join the network. Other times it will let you join and simply do nothing. I had to go to the lobby to check facebook. No. Just no. When you are paying $ 150/​night for a room in Sandwich, Illinois, you should be able to check emails while INSIDE your room. There should be no call for having to try to stick your phone out the window to load a page.
So why 3 stars and not 1? Because otherwise the hotel is pretty decent. Everyone is nice, our room was clean, indoor pool to keep the kids entertained, and they have a good bar that goes til 11pm on weeknights and til 1 on the weekends. It is not a bad place to stay so long as you don’t mind being incommunicado anywhere but outside the building.

I met with Nikki Donahue about 9 months ago to discuss possibly using Timber in Sandwich Illinois for my wedding, after meeting with her there was no other choice. We set the date for September 05, 2015. I just wanted your company to know what a excellent job she did. She was so helpful and easy to deal with. Everything was amazing. I can’t thank you enough. The food was amazing, the room was beautiful. As you know weddings can be stressful and she always responded and did not forget any detail I requested. Employees like her are hard to find. I hope you recognize what an amazing employee you have. All of your staff was incredibly helpful as well. I will recommend you guys to everyone I know. I can’t thank her or your company enough for an unforgettable day. Thank you so much, I appreciate everything.

This place is on the middle of nowhere. Nice Jacuzzi but dirty dirty dirty. The breakfast area was swarming with bugs and I THINK the room had bedbugs.

I stayed here on my wedding night with my wife & bridal party of about 12 people. We had the KING suite & 3 double bed rooms booked on HOTELS​.COM. The first problem occurred upon checking-​in where we walked in a room that was not our reservation. They gave us the KING room without the Jacuzzi, and the point was to have the tub obviously. Luckily they didn’t double book and switched us to the correct room.
The MAIN problem came after leaving the hotel, when I found a «$ 250 FINE» to my card on file. They never told me upon checking out, however they charged me with a «$ 250 SMOKING FINE». After calling the hotel, I was informed they have proof that we were smoking & that’s why we were charged. After being transferred to the Manager who didn’t answer and I had to leave a voicemail. After receiving NO calls back, I’m just left with a dissatisfied experience, but hey, CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST!
FYI, keep an eye out for the MANY MANY «NO SMOKING POLICY SIGNS» (elevator, halls, lobby, rooms, etc…) because they obviously enforce this regularly for no apparent reason…
Also, WIFI IS HORRIBLY SLOW, AND YOU’RE OUT IN PLANO, LIMITED CELL SIGNAL!
In my opinion, all other reviews from 2013 & 2012 aren’t even relevant if you’re looking for a hotel in practically 2015… Never staying here again…

Found myself here for a kids softball tournament. Expensive on the website but tournament rate was affordable. Hotel looks nice when you pull up. Front desk staff was quite friendly and check in painless. Ample parking for all cars. The room was clean but dated. Standard hotel room with a decent sized fridge for storing your drinks. In lieu of going out we are dinner in the bar and much to my surprise the food was quite good. Burgers were made not pucks. Buffalo chicken wrap was made superbly. And they had cheese curds!!!
I’d stay here again if in the area.

Great for a two-​of-​you getaway or gathering with a hundred of your friends — we experienced both and found the staff very kind, friendly and eager to please. During our conference there were two emergency events which the staff handled very professionally — a power-​outage during a storm and two days later a tornado warning (when all guests were led to the basement shelter). The staff did all they could to make sure everyone was safe and comfortable despite the inconvenience. And once the all-​clear happened, they hustled to get everything back to normal (serving food and drinks). Besides our organization’s international gathering, they handled two weddings and other events the same weekend — so you know they’re top-​notch in efficiency!

A very nice place to stay out in the middle of nowhere. Staff was very friendly. Had an excellent evening meal in the Top Shelf Bar & Grille. Would highly recommend.

I had a pleasant experience. The staff was beyond accommodating and polite. The facility was clean and eco friendly. We stood here while visiting raging waves waterpark because they had a package deal that included a room, free breakfast, access to all the hotel amenities and entrance to that waterpark. We were beyond satisfied, so much that we opted to stay an extra night. The lounge/​restaurant had a good food and drink menu and plenty of space to accommodate us. They had an area where u can play volleyball and area for bonfires. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet as well as the heated indoor pool. The hotel had an arcade and clean workout room. I was so satisfied and plan on going again next summer

We went here for their monthly Sunday night dance and what a great venue. A great dance floor and lots of seating. If you want to eat during the dance though be prepared to eat out of Styrofoam and plastic.

Very nice. I stayed here in September during the Sandwich Fair, for three nights. They have an indoor pool, restaurant and bar with an outdoor deck. The rooms all have a refrigerator and microwave, which is nice if you have kids, like us. New (er) hotel, so all the amenities are in great shape. Since all of the other «hotels» within 30 miles of Sandwich are complete DIVES, it is nice to have this place to stay.,

The hotel was really great. I stayed here for 1 night just for a wedding and the service was outstanding. At one point I even thought their towels maybe had some sort of bleach product on them and had messed up my dress. They accommodated me and were very helpful by offering to wash my dress for free even though I later realized it was not their fault at all (my dress’s material is weird I guess and the color changes with water on it?). Either way, they were respectful and helpful in dealing with that matter and washed it and the dress was back to normal. I apologized to them and said that it was really my fault in not being familiar with that material! Anyways, the rooms were also extremely clean and the pillows were quite comfortable. They had updated looking rooms and it didn’t feel cheap at all. I got the raging waters package and I am looking forward to using those tickets sometime this summer! The tickets came with a water pail and shovel which I thought was a cute touch. :) I also thought the continental breakfast was pretty tasty except for the sausages looking a little off (but still tasting ok). The free coffee with take away coffee cups was awesome too! I really hate it when a hotel has those tiny little styrofoam cups… I like having a nice big cup with a lid and then coffee sleeves to keep me from burning my hand when I hold it. I hope they never get rid of that part! lol (I am a coffee fiend!). Check out was also super easy which I liked. I just had to call 511 from the phone and say my name and room number. I liked that I didn’t have to waste more time having to go to the desk and check out. Oh, and aside from the room itself the staff at the wedding was great. I’m not sure if the people working the wedding were directly from the hotel but they were awesome. The food was very tasty (again, I’m not 100% sure that the food was served by the hotel but either way it was a good time!)

I stayed here Friday night and I have to say this is a very nice hotel. It is a «green» hotel. You have to put your room key in a holder in order for anything to work. This was not a problem but I just thought should be mentioned. The rooms were really nice and very clean. It’s new so that helps. The pool was bigger than most and warmer. The lobby had a bunch of Christmas trees that were decorated and my daughter just loved them.
That being said my daughter woke up in the morning and starting going on and on about how uncomfortable the bed was. I really didn’t notice anything uncomfortable or different but apparently she felt something. Also, it was crazy crowded for breakfast. There were a lot of events going on and I knew the hotel was sold out so this shouldn’t surprise me. I had to wait about 3 minutes for them to bring out more food. And Best Westerns gravy has a lot to be desired. But other than that it was a very pleasant visit.
