History

Established in 2007.

Emily and Katie Steck have been in the face painting and balloon art business for 8 years. Since 2007, Corporate events alone — where two or more entertainers were needed — have numbered 450 events. Emily has a degree in business from LDS Business college, and a BS from the University of Utah. Because of her business background, she has great organizational and management skills. We have been featured on the front page of the Daily Universe, KSL Channel 5 news, Channel 2, Channel 4, Ch. 13 with Big Buddah, and sponsored by the radio station, KOSY 106.5. We have developed distinctive, top notch skills and techniques in our face painting and balloon art. Katie completed coursework in theater and art makeup at BYU. Emily’s art classes were at the U. of U.

You know the one-man-band guy? He’s got the cymbals between his knees, the bass drum on his back, a harmonica strapped to his face and he’s playing a violin with one hand and a trumpet with the other. That’s pretty much how I see Emily Steck, the owner of Face Painting Illusions and Balloon Art.

Emily has been a professional cake decorator, a costume seamstress, and a finish carpenter. She refinishes antique furniture, wallpapers, creates wreaths and is a Master Gardener. As she says, «the creative juices have gone in all directions.» No kidding, Emily!

After working with a professional entertainment company for five years, Emily and her daughters began what would become their own face painting and balloon art business. It has been about 6 years since then and Face Painting Illusions and Balloon Art has certainly made a name for itself.
