Johnson RV

We are from the Seattle area and have been «down the road» with the likes of Poulsbo RV, Sunset RV, and Fife RV. Please make it easy on yourself, and drive down to Sandy, Oregon (about half way between Portland and Mt. Hood), and see Johnson RV. Our sales person was Mo Rozema, Bradford Thompson did the finance, and Bill Poplin did the orientation. It was an easy, non-​pressurized and professional response throughout. All you have to do is treat the customer like you would want to be treated, and they get that. We had them install our DISH receiver from our old motor home on the new one, and when we arrived for pick-​up, it wouldn’t connect. Bill Poplin spent 3 hours on it (we went out for lunch), and he had it working fine before we left. Also, we don’t buy warranties and vehicle «protection» plans, and Bradford was extremely low-​key on this decision. You know how it is when you get in the «office» with some finance people. Not Bradford!
Very professional organization, and yes, the red carpet and velvet rope on pick-​up was a very nice touch – not to mention the facebook photos and coffee cups with the photos on them!

I was extremely disappointed in this dealership. Unless you want to spend a hundred grand, they pretty much don’t want your business. The salesman was nice enough but just not willing to deal. My mom has bought two other motorhomes from them and yet they still do not care. You would think being a returning customer they would be really urgent to take care of returning business. Not a chance. That I’m better than you attitude is just not cool. Camping world service department does suck, but their salesman are much more friendly.

We were interested in looking at Leisure Travel RVs, and since no one in our area had any models, we drove all the way from Corvallis to Johnson RV in Sandy. We worked with Corey (Will) and because he was new on the job, Dustin provided knowledgeable backup, answering our questions and also making sure that Corey was provided with on-​the-​job training with live customers! They both were so friendly, personable, and patient. They never made us feel like we were taking up their time (we had just come to look), and we were able to test drive two different models. We were there from 1:00 p.m. until after Johnson RV closed. Thank you Dustin and Will! You’re part of the reason we now own a great 2013 Leisure Travel Unity! The other reason is because of the can-​do attitude of Corey W. who showed us how we could upgrade the 2013 to meet our specifications. We were a little concerned after reading some negative reviews about Johnson RV on Unilocal,but our experience has been nothing but exceptional. It was nice to see the employees of Johnson RV work together as a team to help us. We trust our relationship with Johnson RV will continue to be pleasant and more than satisfactory.

Tobey and the service group helped me out when my Roadtrek RV developed a DEF tank leak. I was traveling thru town, when they discovered the leak, while looking at another issue. Even tho i didn’t buy my RV there, they fit me in their busy schedule. They recommended a Portland Sprinter specialist, McCoy, to do the fix. Mercedes problem i guess. But Johnson RV removed the fresh water tank and then reinstalled it for the repair to happen. Going back and forth was a pain, but they handled the paperwork and warranty coverage with Roadtrek. Thanks everyone!

We had been looking for a small RV for a couple of months. I kept seeing Craigslist posts for Johnson RV. But since there were no prices listed, I kept scrolling past their listings. My thoughts were that if they are not posting prices, they are hiding something. I finally broke down and sent an e-​mail to them, asking for the price of a particular rig. I received a prompt reply from salesman Aaron Sparks. We headed out there to take a look at a couple of RVs, and quickly felt the difference from any of the other dealerships that we had been to. Yes, they are a bit more expensive. But they do specialize in premium pre-​owned RVs. What this means is that they are the cleaner, higher-​end RVs. They make sure that the RVs are in working condition from top to bottom and put some elbow grease into making sure that they are. Aaron toured a couple of RVs with us and answered some questions. Then he let us explore on our own. So it was not high pressure. There was only a very slight tinge of price negotiation pressure. But it was nothing like a car dealership. We came to a purchase agreement on an RV. Within a week, our RV was ready for pick up after they detailed the entire thing. When we arrived, they had the rig waiting for us, complete with a red carpet. Nice touch. After taking photos of us in front of the RV, we had a very thorough walk through with Art. He know his RV info and answered all of the questions that we asked. We discovered that one of the awning arms was bent. So Art had the service dept order the replacement arm and we will return to have them install it, once it comes in. The only reason that I don’t give five stars is because I do believe that there is always room for improvement. I really don’t give five star ratings often. Johnson RV is the place to go if you want a higher-​end RV buying experience, and have a little more money to spend. All of the people working there were friendly. So far, our experience with the company was positive. I really hope that their service department has the same feel as their sales department. Only time will tell.

Purchased RV and extra warranty. Warranty was non existent and they refused all requests. Would drop off RV and they repaired nothing I asked. Superbly over priced and creepy sales guys. Go elsewhere

My wife and I recently purchased a new RV from Johnson RV and were able to take our first four day camping trip. I called, before the service department before returning home to see if we could have a few repairs scheduled and to diagnose some minor problems incurred on our trip. Bryan Hardin was able to, not only have the problems looked at by a mechanic, but have Doug McClain resolve our concerns and correct the few mechanical issues we were experiencing. Doug and Brian were extremely accommodating and professional. Doug’s approach to diagnosing problems was analogous to a doctor, with him asking several pertinent questions and then carefully listening to our interpretation of the problem. We left with our all the issues fixed or resolved and really appreciated not having to wait several weeks before making another trip to have repairs made.
Again, thanks to Johnson RV for making our purchasing and repairs a pleasant experience.

Johnson RV does not repair RVs that are not purchased from them. Seems like poor policy to me plus a possible lost sales opportunity. Pity the poor person needing service on their way up or down the mountain. I guess I won’t be buying an RV from them.

I went to a few different places searching for an RV before I finally ended up at Johnson RV — and thank goodness I found them!
I was immediately greeted by Dustin Allen and John Moore, two of the most friendly and helpful guys I have ever dealt with. They got me into the right rig for my needs, and were VERY genuine people.
When it comes to service, Steve and the whole gang in the service department set up our coach perfectly, and I feel everyone at Johnson went above and beyond in helping us get on our way.
I will definitely recommend Johnson RV to everyone I meet, and go back for all my RV needs!
Johnson RV made me feel like part of the family!

Maybe Brandon directly oversees things at the main Oregon Johnson RV, but things are different across state lines at Puyallup WA location. Our Unilocal review posted on that location site may be disputed by Brandon, but the bottom line is we are unable to recommend Johnson RV to anybody for purchase of RV. The service guy was great in Puyallup, but we recently learned he’s now gone — very concerned for our future maintenance needs! So unfortunate things were not resolved timely — we are very disappointed!

We are seriously looking for a specific class A motorhome. We found the one we were looking for at Johnson RV. After contacting them through their web site a sales representative called that evening, hours after our contact. The request was to provide a price for the motorhome. After four days and multiple calls they refused to provide a price unless we provided a $ 5,000 deposit and copies of our drivers license! I declined and requested a selling price again. The sales representative informed me that is not how they do business. I needed to demonstrate my commitment before they would provide a price. We declined and again said we just want a price. They sent the following message.
«Our policy is simple. A committed offer means you will purchase our coach if we accept your offer. Offers are not entertained without that commitment. I’m sorry you have chosen to not give us the opportunity to field your request.»
This is not a customer centric business. They evidently don’t know the definition of transparency in their dealings. You either do it there way or not at all. Here I thought this kind of shoddy sales tactic went away in the 80’s. All they needed to do is provide a price and if it was competitive we would buy the coach. It does make you wonder what else they are hiding.

We purchased a 2005 Pleasure Way Class B RV in November 2014 from Johnson RV. It had one previous owner and only 20,000 miles on the odometer. The bathroom and the kitchen had never been used. Essentially, it felt like we were purchasing a new vehicle.
The folks that work for Johnson RV are really nice people. We never felt pressured. When we found the RV we wanted, we settled pretty quickly on a reasonable price and made the agreement that we would purchase it. An issue came up around a generator and within a few days and after several phone calls back and forth, they installed a new one at their expense.
On the afternoon that we showed up to do the final inspections and go over all the many systems, we found out that they had found cracks in the tires and put on a new set of tires at their expense. WOW!
Everyone was friendly, helpful, and they spent hours with us to show us all the systems and to be sure we were ready to roll. This is treatment that we’ve never received at a dealership. Hats off to their customer service, their sales staff, and their support staff.
I’d highly recommend this company if you want a great vehicle and reasonable prices. Ask for Katie or Brian. They’ll give you the time and help you need to make a good decision.

They treat you real well at Johnson RV. I highly recommend them for both service and for an RV purchase. After dealing with some real crappy sales tactics up at Poulsbo RV it was real nice dealing with these guys. Everybody we talked to was very nice and helpful. I’d especially recommend Brian in sales for his easy going but informative help, Jayson in finance for being helpful and finding us great rates and Art in service for a great walk thru on our purchase.
I think we could have done a little better on the price but these guys seem to back the product and I’m sure if I find anything wrong with my used rig, they will make it right.
What I really like is the added benefit of a rv dump which is very useful when coming home from the mountains or from eastern Oregon. Now that is service.

Not happy that they limited the hours for the dump service that they promised me when I bought the rv.

I was vacationing in Oregon and drove by Johnson RV and saw a open house sign. My friends and I decided we would go in the next day just to take a peek. I met the nicest young man Nate Hansen who asked me what were the two primary factors it would take to get me in one. I said «sleep 8 and a race horse deal». After explaining my Alabama race horse deal definition he found two on his lot. It was love at first sight. It had all my other requirements as well. Later that day I met Art who really helped me by personally assuring me all the repairs and cleaning needed he would oversee and make sure that when I pulled out to head back south on my «FIRST RV adventure it would be ready. Both men were so helpful even while I was on the road answering questions and getting me the aid I needed. Nate should win the award for BEST SALES REP ever for taking my calls at 1:00 in the morning to help me with setting up and giving me encouragement when I needed it. Now that I am back in Mississippi where I currently live Nate has continued to help me and call to make sure all is going well. All the people at Johnson are great but Nate and Art are exceptional! I’m happy to recommend Johnson RV in Sandy OR. I got in contact with Mo Rozema via the website when I was just starting my search for a potential RV for full time living. I was selling my house and was strongly considering making the switch to an RV. Mo was helpful without being pushy, and was genuinely interested in helping me find what was right for my budget, my needs and my lifestyle. From the time I made the decision and started looking in earnest, to visiting their show space at the Portland RV show, where they hosted my admission, through to the decision on an RV in their stock, I felt all the way through that they had my best interest in mind and wanted to make sure, even after the sale, that I was 100% satisfied, comfortable and confident in my purchase. They’ve been eager to help me with the few minor fixes to the rv I purchased, helped me to research and make sure that all recalls on the various components had been taken care of, and were even willing to adjust some of the upgrades I’d chosen if that would make me feel good about what I’d bought, and about them as a dealer and service center. What more can I say? Mo personally, and Johnson RV in general with every staff member I worked with have been terrific. I would highly recommend them to anyone shopping for their dream rv. When we bought our used rv, we were told we had 60 days of warranty. We took our rv in for repair to the refrigerator door. The latch was broken and would not stay shut. Their solution was a nice, new, shiny bolt that screwed down into the door to keep it shut. Opening the door will take unscrewing it each time. When we complained about the fix, they tried a different pin, but it didn’t fit… and then they were done. … and now we are done with Johnson RV.

5 stars on everything. I cannot say enough great things about Johnson RV.
I stayed the winter close to Mt. Hood and would drive to Johnson RV in Sandy whenever I needed propane or other small things for my Airstream. They always had the best prices on gas. I happily gave them my service for both price and how friendly and informative the staff was.
Then, something unfixable by myself happened with the electrical to my RV. They quickly fixed the problem, which was extra helpful since I’m living in my Airstream. Their technician explained to me what happened and how to avoid it in the future. The price was reasonable. I’m on budget and they did everything they could to get me out the door without an ulcer. Phillip, one of their employees, was on the phone with me every step of the process. I cannot thank him and the rest of the staff enough for being so great. Phillip even recommended me other great local businesses for needs that they could not provide me.
You guys have my business forever. I wish every company was like Johnson RV!

I should have heeded some of the reviews I read here before purchasing my RV from Johnson RV. It felt good in the process. Our Salesperson was excellent and the transaction was smooth. The problem is they nickel and dime you in their store to get you outfitted. Given the outlay I just gave them, you’d think they’d throw some basics in as a goodwill package to new owners. Just 3 weeks later, I have a motorhome that is not operational and a crank handle came off in my wife’s hands. Johnson’s response? They did talk with us about how to correct it and then said we needed to get it towed to them so they could look at the 3 week purchased Motorhome at my expense. Nice. Stay away from this place. The good feeling will disappear if you have to work with them to solve a problem.

Johnson RV has extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, plus a great selection of RV’s. I would definitely recommend them to someone looking to buy. Their prices are low, and the service is always stellar!

I would not return to this place. The service was very poor, We were left on the lot to look at the RVs by ourselves, no one to answer questions and it was a very hot day!
