Dee’s Rte 202 Diner

This little joint is fantastic. All the food I saw plus the breakfast I had were quite well done. All the toast is homemade giant slice style. I’m an off the beaten path guy. I don’t do Denny’s. I don’t want Cracker Barrel. This is so much better than anticipated. I can honestly say that this is top ten for me. And it’s out in the middle of nowhere! If you’re up this way, try it.

Dee’s Rte 202 Diner (formerly Stokewoods Diner & Gil’s Diner) is a cozy country diner located along US Route 202 in Lebanon, which serves up breakfast (served all day), lunch, and dinner daily. Like its predecessors, the atmosphere inside is country homey with finished wood walls and ceilings, counter seating, TV in the corner and booths and tables, all in the same room. There are various historic framed pictures and prints of Lebanon on the walls including the churches in town.
The breakfast menu offerings include egg dishes/​platters, 3 egg omelets, hash, pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, biscuits & gravy, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast sides. The lunch/​dinner offerings include burgers (from Janetto’s Superette in Dover NH), subs, sandwiches, chicken tenders, meatloaf, fried haddock, salads, soups, chowders, fries & hand cut onion rings, sides, and desserts. A children’s menu (for those under 10 and over 65) is offered. The prices here are reasonable, most dishes priced $ 4.49-$ 8.99. Specials are posted behind the lunch counter. $ 1 surcharge is added on all items after 4pm according to menu? Tuesday night from 4pm to 8pm, one dinner one price.
On the way to a work meeting in Portland, my coworker and I stopped in here recently for an early weekday morning breakfast. The parking lot looked empty, but the open light was on at 6:15am. We entered the diner, lights on, TV on, but no staff in sight. After a few moments, I finally called the diner on my phone to get someone out to the dining room to serve us and give us menus. The waitress finally appeared, so we sat ourselves, drink and food orders taken promptly.
My coworker ate light and had Hot Tea ($ 0.92), Bowl of Oatmeal with Brown Sugar ($ 3.25), and Homemade Raisin Toast ($ 1.25), a thick buttered slice. His breakfast was simple, but he was happy and full.
For my breakfast, I was hungry and ordered a mug of Fresh Brewed Hot Coffee ($ 0.92) and the Godfather Omelet ($ 9.49) with home fries & homemade Wheat Toast, a thick buttered slice. The 3 egg omelet was GINORMOUS, which was a folded firm egg filled with pepperoni, Italian sausage, onions, green peppers, melted provolone cheese, topped with a thick marinara sauce. This pizza omelet was very good and filling. The home fries were fresh cut red skin potatoes grilled and seasoned to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed BIG Godfather Omelet, home fries and homemade toast. The portion sizes here were generous too.
The service during our breakfast was adequate. I was given top-​offs on the hot coffee and the food arrived to our table in about 10 minutes after ordering. I have already recommended this roadside country restaurant for breakfast to my coworkers, who also drive US 202 between NH and Portland. I plan to visit this place again for lunch.
