Harrell & Beverly has been providing professional, honest and dependable service since it was founded in Bluefield, Virginia in the early 1950s. The company was founded by Samuel Harrell and James Beverly, son-​in-​law of Mr. Harrell. The company name is the last names of the two founders.

The company was relocated, to the present day location, in Sanford, FL in 1959. Through the years, James Beverly, alongside his two sons, Alvin and Don Beverly, operated the family business. In 2005, James Beverly retired and Alvin and Don Beverly became the third generation of family owners. Alvin and Don each have over 30 years of experience in the transmission and automotive repair industry, beginning their careers in the family business in the mid 1970s.

They repair and perform all maintenance on our personal cars and my commercial work vehicle for the last 5 years. You are treated as a customer not as a dollar sign. Honesty, Respect, Integrity and Superior knowledge off all aspects of automotive repair is the foundation of this shop

Recently moved to the area, this place was recommended to me by someone who has them do service. Took a Nissan to the dealership who looked at it and told me what they though needed to be done, then took it over here to get a second opinion. Nissan was trying to fix some things that were not broken. The prices at this shop may be high for your taste, but they are around 80% of what the dealership was asking for the same services. Very satisfied with their work and customer service.

I keep forgetting to post about this shop and will rectify that now! I was visiting the east coast of Florida over the Christmas holidays and my father loaned me his car to drive over and see family in Mt. Dora. Well, suffice to say the car didn’t want to cooperate and I broke down right outside of Sanford. On a recommendation from AAA, I had it towed to Harrell & Beverlys at around 2 in the afternoon xmas eve. The employees at this shop were some of the most professional and friendly people I have ever met. They made sure I was comfortable in the lobby, were helpful with the car and making arrangements to leave it there and when it would be worked on; they were very concerned for my safety once the shop closed for the day and as to whether I had someone to pick me up. They even arranged to have an employee drive me 25 min away to a restaurant where I could wait for someone to pick me up. My father told me later that the prices were very reasonable and they were wonderful to work with. True professionals with a classic decency.

I have had work here many times. They are very skilled and do good work, but wow their prices have gone through the roof. They quoted me $ 1000 this week to change a waterpump on my Dodge truck. They claimed 6.5hrs of labor and many parts that cost me 2 hours of my time and a $ 100 in parts to do myself.
I will not be going back there as they are just too expensive.

These guys are top notch. I take my car there for everything and not just transmissions. When I was new to the Orlando area my truck broke down and the transmission needed repair. I made the mistake of taking it to the local AAMCO. Never again. If you want the repair done right then the Beverly’s are the only business in town or on the North side of Orlando as far as I am concerned. Why? They are thorough. They are honest beyond reproach. If the officials in Sanford need an expert testimony this is where they go. A family owned business through three generations and a whole family of straight shooters. This is where you want to go if you want it done right and are tired of overpriced dealerships and shady shade-​tree mechanics. Get the quality your car deserves here.

Been working in Sanford for 8 years and have finally found an auto repair shop that does what it advertise. Namely maintain and repair my cars as needed. This is family owned business who are active within the community. Their reputation means a lot to them so they tend to err in favor of the customer. I have taken my Honda there for 2 years now on regular maintenance issues and one repair problem. Fair price and quality work with outstanding customer support. Bottom line is these folks care about their business and their customers. I recommend them highly.
