That Sharpening Guy

I recently had 6 of my knives sharpened by Kenny. What a personable guy who sure knows everything you would ever want to know about knives! His willingness to explain what he was doing and how to treat and handle your knives was really a pleasant surprise to my husband and me. My knives have gone from dull to razor sharp. I called one day and he invited me to come the very next day. Thank you Kenny for such great customer care! Will see you again for sure!

It was great meeting up with Kenny for knife sharpening. Not only do I have awesome cutting knives but got some great insight during the process! Sharp knives and great conversation. I cannot recommend this service highly enough. On a whim, I decided to get my Henckles Twin Pro S knives sharpened after several years of careful but heavy use.
I called Kenny late morning on a Tuesday and to my surprise and delight he was available early that afternoon. He asked if I would like to stay and wait while he sharpened them and boy I’m glad I did.
Kenny took the time to explain what he was doing, and show me how I may be causing my knives to dull prematurely. He also showed me some better knife techniques than I was currently using. Because he enjoys cooking, he brings a lot of that practical experience to his craft.
He was also able to make a repair on a damaged point of a paring knife, it had been slightly broken. The repair was virtually unnoticeable and the knife looked like it had never been damaged.
When he finished, the knives were perfect, sharper than they had been when I first bought them.
I was so impressed with his work, and his knowledge, that I bought a new pair of kitchen shears that he was selling. They were far superior to the ones I had in my set and I couldn’t be happier with them. And they were very very reasonably priced.
I have in the past looked at other knife sharpener’s, but I’m really glad I found this service. Kenny was a pleasure to talk to and extremely knowledgeable and skilled at his craft. He obviously really loves what he does and it shows in his work.

I have a modest collection of good kitchen knives, and have always been hesitant to dive in on the whole whetstone self-​sharpening thing. A quick Google search brought me to That Sharpening Guy, Kenny. At first I decided to take my knives to him in Sanford, but then saw that he sets up shop weekly at the Good Neighbor Farmer’s Market in Winter Garden/​Oviedo. Talk about the perfect combination! Arrived, found Kenny (in the barn), dropped off the knives and then had a spirited conversation about cooking and recipes and all things culinary. Left the knives with Kenny and then wandered around the charming farm for about an hour. Petted some sweet animals in the petting farm area, picked up some fresh produce, and enjoyed the music of the live band. An hour later, I had perfect sharp knives and bags full of goodies. Kenny is a master sharpener and really took his time making my knives razor sharp, even the serrated ones. I will be a loyal customer and will send all of my friends to him.
