Horrible Customer Service. I came with my Husband and Mother-in-law. My Mother-in-law ordered a cup of water we didn’t receive it we asked nicely a few more times at the end we never received it while the table behind us that came in after received their drinks right away. We had to request napkins and it took more than 30 min to receive our food. Very disappointed not looking forward to coming back Any time soon.

This place has good food with affordable prices I always come here for the mole negro the memelas are also delicious, don’t forget your order of grasshoppers(chapulines) anything in the menu is good. Try chilacayota or tepache Agua fresca since is something you not gonna find anywhere else…

Chilacayota Agua is super tasty and mild. Tyaludas are good but wish the tortilla was less hard and had more veggies on top. Overall a very tasty place!

Legit Oaxacan food. The menu is loaded with traditional Oaxacan items. The Chapulines for $ 3.99, can’t beat that. The portions are huge! Moderately priced. Cash only but worth a trip to the atm. Heavily recommended.

The food here is delicious – rich, complex and savory – with good prices, extremely generous portions(two-three meals for the price of one, but that’s me) and great service. I love that the tortillas are so fresh and the Oaxacan cheese is amazing. The green chili they put out as an appetizer of sorts is extremely spicy, so be warned, but I like it and it’s good to add to some of the food. I also love that they serve chapulines(grasshoppers) for such a low price! They go well with the food too. But I really love that the service was so great. The first time I came I ordered the crickets and the waitress was nice enough to tell me that the batch they ordered was a bit unusual(it came in some sauce they weren’t used to), so she gave me very generous sample to taste. I appreciate her honesty. Similarly, when we had some discussion about a dessert she brought out what we ordered plus a little sample of another flavor that someone in my group had never tasted or heard of so he could finally have a taste of it. Wonderful and underrated place(plus the waitress did understand English so that wasn’t an issue at all).

Sirven la comida Oaxacaña. No one speaks English here. El molcajete Oaxacaña was piled high with sopes, roasted peppers and onions, and most deliciously, Oaxacan cheese. I tried the chapulines(grasshoppers) for a surprising limey experience. The texture may turn some people away, but I enjoyed the experience.

This place is really good my fav is the Tlayuda and the hot chocolate and the sweet bread is really good the chilaquiles are also good the reason im giving them 4 stars is their service it sucks they take a really long time serving you even though theres not a lot of people they still take forever to serve you. But the food is so good.

This place is amazing. My boyfriend takes me here and everything we have ordered has been AMAZING… however, my heart belongs to the tlayuda and the chapulines. The tlayuda is HUGE. It is enough to share and the oaxacan cheese they top it with. Oh so delicious. Chapulines are these little toasted crickets/grasshoppers…I know, I know, no one wants to eat crickets, but trust me on this one guys. The MOMENT you get over your fear and actually try one, your first thought will be, «I get it». You have to try it to get it… then you will be craving them forever more! The service is a bit slow, but that is only because they are making everything fresh to order. I also tried the fermented pineapple drink(tepache, I believe it’s called). I wasn’t sure if I liked it… so I kept tasting it over and over again. By the end of the meal, it grew on me and also perfectly complimented the flavors of the meal. Heads up, the green salsa is diabolically delicious and hellishly hot.

I was looking for a restaurant to take my visiting family out to eat. We decided to eat here because it seemed inviting and authentic. Loved the environment and the vibe of the place; cozy, family-owned, and fresh food. It took about 20 minutes for us receive our three meals. Food was delicious and price was very fair.

A restaurant this incredible, cheap, and undiscovered deserves a substantially better review than the first, sorry. I was driving in Santa Ana with my dad, him riding shotgun with instructions to find a place for us to eat. I go cruising by and he spots this Oaxacan place. I do a bat turn and pull into the lot. From the beginning they aren’t joking around. The green salsa they put on the table is HOT, not that bland, red paste that is usually set out with chips before the meal. Scanning the menu, holy $hit, I’ve found the only restaurant north of Escondido that makes their own tortillas. I settled on the goat tacos and my Dad had no idea what he ordered, the waiter only clued us in that it was pork. Wax poetic: the tacos are served in burrito-sized fresh corn tortilla and filled with tender, flavorful meat. I am completely blown away. My Dad’s plate turned out to be sliced pork sliced very thin and caked in amazing seasoning, served like fajitas. The bill came out to be $ 14 for a memorable and delicious feast.

Small restaurant. Took 35 minutes to get our food. Clearly made to order. Chicken with mole poblano. Not super chocolatey. Lots of spices. Pork in green mole. Not a ton of meat. Good mole. Pork colorado. Very food. Tamale — very good. Chile relleno — stuffed with chicken, raisins and spices. Very good.
