Hands down best tortillas in town. Been having them since I was a kid and they have set the bar pretty high. Also, their carnitas are soo good.

No better place for masa or corn tortillas. Takes me back to a small town in the heart of Mexico 45 years ago. Flor does it old school & Oh so right.

This tortilleria has been here forever. The only place to get authentic masa. It opens early and closes late. The workers are always friendly and it’s family run. The tortillas are made here with, and it has BEST masa for tamales.

The sweetest group of latinos with the best prices around! Saved my best friend $ 75+ for a new used tire! Definitely come by, it’s open 7 days a week too unlike the one in Costa Mesa.

We heard about this tortilleria somewhere and we were in the neighborhood so we stopped by. We were not disappointed. They have great, fresh tortillas. Soft and warm. Real corn masa. The chips were awesome too. Super long lines. On the bag of tortillas it says they have a Garden Grove location but I have not verified this.

Best tortillas EVER!!! They are so good that you have to come early to get them. Their flavor is closer to the authentic from Mexico. The people that work there is friendly and kind.

Amazing fresh corn tortillas! I couldn’t help myself, and I got the chicharrons too. The carnitas were a bit dry, and I’ll probably skipped that next time.

This place is the best! They taste so yummy. I drive one hour at least once a month to pick them up. I wish they would expand!

I had the tortillas from this place at a birthday party. I loved them so much that the host gave me a pack of them but I’m making a trip out there week for there tortillas. My goodness it reminded me of the tortillas you have at the stands in Mexico super amazing.

Man, I love the smell walking in here; the musty nixtamalization, the fresh tortillas, a bit of carnitas… wonderful! The tortillas are better than most. The chips made from those tortillas are great(personally, I like ‘em thicker…) The carnitas are some of the best around(for me, it was between them and a place in Anaheim that is no longer around, so, they win by default). If you’re here for the fresh tortillas, make sure to get a ½ lb of carnitas to take advantage of that soft, warm, corny-goodness. They’ll throw in a small container of salsa roja(because they know you’ll need it when you’re chowin’ down in your car…) I’ll be back for masa…

My family has been buying tortillas here for over 30 years. When we lived in Albuquerque, we would visit Cali and buy some and freeze them. You can eat them by themselves and they taste great! Great for menudo…

Forget about the old, dry Mission tortilla section you find at the end of the canned food aisle at Albertson’s. This is where Mexicans buy their tortillas! This place can be a little hard to find, but it churns out some of the best tortillas and carnitas you can find in Santa Ana! Don’t think about ordering a taco or Carne Asada Burrito here! All the meat they sell here is carnitas and it’s sold by the pound, and damn! The carnitas are righteous and made the«old school way» in their giant simmering pots in the back. Prices are a tad on the high side compared to other spots around town, but well worth the money.

I know my fellow Unilocalers are pioneers like me… venturing into areas outside our comfort zones in search of good, great and even the best of foods. Such was the case for Flor de Mexicali. I’m just a yellow girl looking for what I’ve been told is the best carnitas around. Incidentally, also the best prepared masa(for tamales)… Hubby and I took a few wrong turns but finally found this little hidden gem in the corner of a grubby strip mall. Needless to say hubby(also yellow) and I got a few looks. We were somewhat surprised to see that there was still a line at Flor de Mexicali at 2:30pm on a Sunday but, what the heck, we were there. Be warned — it’s WARM in there. Warmth from the big vats of corn they are soaking to make their own masa, tortillas, chips, etc. But besides those and some other odds and ends, the only meat they sell is PORK. Carnitas and some other rib meat. But that’s it. Don’t ask for pollo or carne asada. There’s no salsa bar or guacamole. There’s meat… and tortillas. We stepped up and one lady behind the counter takes one look at us and whispers to lady#2. Lady #2 looks at us quickly and asks«May I help you?» in a halfway curious manner. She stared at the 2lb tub of lard I had commissioned from their cold cases and wondered what manner of non-Mexican was I. I quickly requested two pounds of carnitas, a package of their mini tortillas and finally ventured to ask if they had any prepared masa left. She blinked once and asked«For tamales?» I said«Yes.» In the end, she did scrape together 4lbs for me even though she said minimum was 10lbs. As she rang me up, her curiosity got better of her and she finally asked if I was making tamales and I said yes and I heard theirs was the best masa in town. That got her to chuckle as she handed me my credit card slip. We convened at a friend’s house shortly thereafter and moaned and groaned over the best carnitas we’d ever had. THEBEST. They gave you two little containers of salsa which were delicious as well. A bit chintzy but there was enough to go around. No one could stop eating it… We will definitely be back!(Trying the masa preparada tonight!)
