Futon Emporium

Came today (3÷16÷16) it looks as though they’re going out of business according to some construction worker at the building next door.
No response on their phone either. I also peeked in the window and it looked as though they have maybe 2 or 3 futons there.
I don’t know what’s going on. They could be renovating also. But the parking here is pretty bad and their location is also.
There is so sign out in the window either, so finding the place was a little difficult.

Came by a few times throughout the day (March 12, 2016) and it was closed. I peeked inside and it seems like they are renovating or shutting down. Only had two or three futons in there not much but they looked nice.

Robby is an absolute professional. He presented me with my options, patiently matched my mattress and cover, and gave me tons of accessory options — all at super-​reasonable prices.

I think they are out of business. I have tried coming by three times now and there was no one there during any of my trips, all during their normal business hours. No response to phone calls either. Bummer :(
Ended up buying a Futon at the Futon Factory Orange (Furniture City) if you need a futon go check them out, I got a great deal on a nice new bed. They had a ton of frames and mattress/​pad options in store to choose from and try out (same exact stuff sold here). They were the only other place I could find in south OC that also sells equal quality futons.

I am told by «a friend of the owner» this is still open. Sadly It wasn’t any of the times I tried to come by, and no I did not show up on Christmas or new years…

Robby was very helpful. The staff here knows literally everything– I had no idea there was that much product knowledge for something as simple as a beanbag chair. I would always shop again here if I needed more beanbags. Place is great.

Holy smokes… finally found a queen futon. Tons of mattress to choose from and FREE pillows when you check in!
Wife is super happy… worth every dollar.

Good selection. Low pressure sales. In and out in 20 minutes, queen sized futon and frame, $ 900. Great deal.

This is a great place to get real futons!
I had done some research on the different kinds of futons and the ones with the attached mattresses (like the ones you would find at Target/​Walmart/​Amazon) are junk and super uncomfortable to sleep on due to the crease in the middle.
The salesman was extremely friendly and helped guide me through purchasing my futon. He took the time to sit me down on all the different mattresses to find the right fit for me. The futon was going in the guest room/​office and would be used as a bed only when company comes in town, so looks were important.
He pointed out all the different kinds of frames and showed me what to expect, comfort wise, with each frame and price range. If you want to get a great quality, good looking futon then this is the place to go.
I will be referring anyone and everyone to come here!

Robby was great! Walked us through literally every mattress they had. I have back issues so he made recommendations on mattresses and eventually showed me the pillow to and the full memory foam. My wife said she was impressed with how helpful and genuinely interested in helping find us the perfect fit. I planned on spending $ 1500 for ‘the best futon they had’ because sleeping is 6 hours of my day EVERY day and that’s about the worst place to pinch pennies in my book.
We ended up picking the pillow top and their top of the line Durango ‘against wall’ style base that I can put all the way against the wall and still pull out.
We were extatic and later amazed when Robby had to call the owner to check the price on the two together and the owner told him to just give them to me for the pice of the non pillow top set. We walked out $ 400 less than I expected to pay and looking foward to seeing their renovation they have starting in a few weeks.
It’s rare to have anyone genuinely trying to help. Great employee. GIVE HIM A RAISE.

I had a horrible experience with Futon Emporium! Barat was terrible at getting back to me on items he was «researching». I constantly had to call and follow up and when he would call like promised. When I finally placed the order, simply because I couldn’t get the futon I liked anywhere else local, the wrong arms were ordered, and then I was promised the new arms would be there in a week, and almost 3 weeks later they finally arrived. Never once did he apologize for ordering the wrong part, for the delay or anything. I would NEVER buy anything here again!

I love my Futon! They have many to choose from. All different sizes, designs, and colors. I got a great deal for the quality of the bed. Very helpful staff with great futons to choose from. They delivered and assembled it at my house which was great. Thank you!

Great shop. They have a good selection of futons, and if they don’t have what you’re looking for, they can get it. The guy managing the counter was nice and helped me test and pick out a futon. It’s too bad there aren’t more of these stores around where I live. Had to drive to Santa Ana to get a futon.

Stopped in to check in bean bags and was pleasantly surprised of the customer service I relieved from Robbie. There’s no pressure to purchase, he made sure that Iwas happy with what I was getting ! My husband and I went in to buy a bean bag chair for our son. The owner explained the different varieties. I didn’t like that there are no prices listed anywhere in the store. When we asked about the prices and why nothing was priced the owner got very defensive and told me in 40 years no one has ever asked him that question. Then when I told him that made me feel a bit uncomfortable he told me that they just moved and that’s why nothing is priced. Which is it? Then he told me if I didn’t like it, I should shop elsewhere, or maybe come back next week and he will put some prices up. Seems pretty shady and we won’t be back.

If you’re looking for the perfect futon… this is the place. Barat was so patient showing us all the options. The frames are lovely! We found just what we needed to make full use of our 2^nd (guest) bedroom/​office. The price was what I would have expected to pay for the quality…$ 650. I really like the thing… rich chocolate brown w/​accent pillows (included). This was a much better solution to our needs than an awful sleeper/​sofa or the Ikea trundle for $ 900 after delivery and all their hassle!
Steve delivered and set up 2 days later…($ 75.) Job very well done with humor!

A big waste of my time. The business did not open on a Sunday, even though it said it was on the phone and website. Inventory not reflective to what is on the website. Customer Service just made excuses.

Absolutely the place to buy a futon. People really don’t understand the difference between certain mattresses and the quality level. From what I gathered, people want a cheap price and a high quality futon mattress. Not the case. Most pay high and get cheap uncomfortable mattresses. Here, they explained to me the difference and I got what I paid for. A solid mattress delivered to my house for my guest room. Steve came and did a super job, assembling it in 15 minutes. They under promised and over delivered. This is how it should be. I will recommend futon emporium because they are honest about what you are paying for. I am very pleased and will definitely shop here again. 5-​star service with 5-​star quality. Buy buy buy!!!
