GD BRO Burger

First time here and I will be returning soon. I went with my boyfriend. My boyfriend ordered The all American and I ordered Juan and only. The price is okay a little pricey but the burgers are good so its worth it. Place looks clean not very busy for a Friday afternoon.

Burger Heaven! The Italian Stallion was full of flavor, cheesy, tasty and juicy. I have been bragging about it to everyone I know. I shared the burger and truffle fries with my daughter and was super full. What is in the red bun? Even though my burger had marinara sauce and was super juicy, it never fell apart or got sloppy wet. Can’t wait to go back and try the Juan and Only and each burger on their menu. Please come to HB. The staff was smiley, friendly and made my experience want to return over and over. Thanks!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while & it didn’t disappoint. Their menu is simple, but to the point. My husband had the Juan & Only and he loved it. The fries were great, but the onion rings weren’t as good compared to the rest of the food. I would definitely go again and I am going to try their pepperoni pizza fries!

So, the number one negative thing I can say about this place is there isn’t one in San Diego! I enjoy a good burger and always on the search for the best burger. A friend showed me the Instagram account for GD Bro Burger and their pictures absolutely are worth 1,000 words!
Fortunately, I had to drive through Santa Ana recently and made a stop off the highway just to try this place out. The timing was perfect as I got there just as they opened. It’s smaller than I would have thought. Very clean inside and the people who work there are very friendly. I’ve seen the pictures online, but I still wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted. As I read through the menu, the «All-​American» burger captured my attention. It comes with cheddar cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, potato chips and lettuce with a homemade BBQ sauce. You have a choice of a «red» bun or a regular bun; I opted for the regular bun. They do ask how you want the burger cooked and I went with the standard medium. For a side, I chose the onion rings.
There is a small indoor dining area if you choose and when your meal is ready, they bring it out to you. I was pleased by the size and appearance of the burger. So many never look quite like the photos you see, but this burger looked just like all of the pictures I had seen. But the taste of the burger was like nothing I have ever had before. I’ve had Burger Lounge, Smashburger, Pure Burger and many more. All pale in comparison! There are many dive bar burger places that I’m fond of as well, but the flavor of this burger is simply unique and without question what a burger is supposed to taste like. I opted for the regular bun instead of the red bun and it was simply delicious! Everything about this burger from the amount of cheese, the freshness of all the ingredients and toppings, the bun… just simply make this one of, if not THE best burger ever!
The onion rings they serve are fresh and taste like they cut the onions and bread them. They are fresh and not too oily or greasy and served with ranch and/​or ketchup. The only comments I would say for this store, there is no bathroom. It’s a really small restaurant and while they do have a restaurant for the employees and they will let you use it, it’s not terribly convenient. I had to walk around the back of the building over a dirt path. Not everyone needs to use a restroom I understand, but I think just about everyone likes to wash their hands before eating. And for beverages, they do not have fresh iced tea but rather a flavored tea from the soda dispenser. Oddly, they have fresh water in a dispenser but no fresh tea. We live in SoCal and iced tea is pretty much a staple at any restaurant. I mean if McDonalds and Jack-​in-​the-​box can serve fresh brewed iced tea, I think a restaurant could provide this as well. And if you can take the time and trouble to set up dispensers of fresh water, how about providing freshly brewed iced tea.
Overall, if you want to try the best burger you will likely ever have, you MUST try this place!!! I can’t wait to go back and try some of their others. And to GD Bro Burgers, there’s plenty of room for a new GD Bro Burger in San Diego!!!

While visiting LA, of course we have to look on Unilocal for places that look yummy! This place caught our attention and thought we’d give it a try. When we first walked in. It was a lot smaller than I expected. However the girl who took our order was very helpful and friendly. There was only a table available outside. The wait was not long after we ordered and the food was great! The raspberry bun was amazing and The patty was juicy! Very impressed it was great! My boyfriend was also very happy with his order. We will definitely come back the next time we are in town.

the Bay Area has some serious burger envy cuz LA has such a good burger game going on. I couldn’t resist coming to this place cuz who doesn’t want some red buns?
GD Bro Burger is located on East 4^th Street in the Santa Ana area of Orange County. it’s in a small plaza but u can c it as u drive by on the street.
there’s a lot off to the side so parking is no problem.
the place is nice n spacious inside. there’s also a table outside. on the wall behind the counter is their huge menu. when I say huge, I don’t mean there’s a variety of items, I mean it’s written really big. (great for the near-​sighted n elderly. :)) service was fast n friendly. the only thing I would say is a con would b that it doesn’t have a restroom on the inside. there’s one on the outside, but I guess that’s not a deal-​breaker.
I did enjoy eating at this burger place, even though I did think the raspberry buns were kinda gimmicky. the buns’ texture was light n airy though. the raspberry taste wasn’t there so perhaps it’s just food coloring? my burger was good, especially with the runny fried egg on top! their burgers r a good size. I was pretty full by the time I finished my fries. their French fries r the skinny kind which is my favorite type! so that was also another plus.

The gourmet burgers are TO DIE FOR. Sure, they pretty much burn a hole through your wallet but if you ever want to just splurge your paycheck on food this is the place to go.
BURGERS I’VE TRIED SO FAR: The two times I have gone here I tried the Italian Stallion with egg as an extra and the KBBQ Poutine Burger. Both did not disappoint but the KBBQ Poutine Burger was more savory in my opinion. I’ve also had a bite of the Juan and Only Burger and it’s pretty spicy but not so much that your mouth is on fire ²⁴⁄₇.
SIDES I’VE TRIED SO FAR: I’ve only had the garlic truffle fries and they have a really strong truffle taste if you’re into that. Their juices are very good as well but again, it’s a little pricier than your average juices. (Pineapple Orange Cooler is bueno)
Overall, this is a great place if you’re willing to go out for a gourmet burger place. Definitely coming back here again!

We were in search of a burger for lunch when one of my friends suggested this place. It’s found in a mini shopping plaza close to a gas station and hotel. There was amble parking around 1:30/2pm. There were only a couple people in line ahead of us and once we ordered the food came out pretty fast. I had the Hang Loose since I wanted the slight sweetness of pineapple. The burger came out with cheese melting and glazed over the teriyaki sauce. The burger was flavorful and tender and was definitely a good size. I opted for the onion rings which were nice and crispy beer battered. I had the Popeye refresher which was nice and light as well not too sweet.
Parking: Easy to park in the lot
Seating: Plenty of seats inside and out and easy access to get back onto the freeway

EXCELLENT. This may possibly be my favorite burger joint ever — dare I say better than In N Out. Trust me people, I love me some In N Out too. My boyfriend and I came up from SD to try this place out since I had seen it on Instagram. I loved it as soon as I came in. They had the best 1999 – 2004 upbeat r&b jams playing (C’mon who can’t get down with that), a simple menu and plenty of seats.
All the guys working there were super friendly but Hue (Hopefully I spelled his name right) checked up on us and his customer service was excellent. I think he may have been the owner because he chatted with us about GD Bro Burger and gave us the 411 on possible new locations. Definitely a genuine guy, even hooked it up with a milk shake.
The food was what really stood out to me: the presentation — deeeelivered! They plated it so nicely, it’s been awhile since a burger made me so excited. Best part? The fried egg I added to my American burger. The yolk just oozed onto my burger perfectly. Total burgasm. Just thinking about it gives me the chills lol. Their truffle fries were also delish & went perfectly with our burgers.
We will definitely recommend this place to all our friends & family. Best believe we’ll be driving back for more!

In short… try the Korean bbq poutine items!
My husband and I both happened to have this place bookmarked so it was a no brainer to go check it out. I was surprised by how limited the menu was but everything sounded great so I let him do the ordering. He got us the Juan and only burger, mozzarella sticks, Korean bbq poutine fries, a watermelon cooler and the pineapple orange cooler.
I thought the Juan and only burger was tasty, but a little too spicy for me. My husband opted to not try the raspberry bun and forgo the egg so now I feel like we have to try it with those items to compare :)
The coolers were refreshing and delicious, the mozzarella sticks were ok but the Korean bbq poutine fries were out of this world. I can’t wait to go back and try the Korean bbq poutine burger!

Did we come at a bad time? Does it feel like a Sunday night? Something odd or confusing when I left here. Did I have high expectations? Soo many mix questions…
We arrived on a Sunday night and I was expecting to be busy with long lines and no parking. But strangely it was complete opposite. Okay. I knew what to try which was the KBBQ Poutine Burger, and it was good but I wasn’t satisfied. You know when you have a great juicy burger with melted cheese and a toasted bun. After you done finishing it, your stomach is so full and you’ve created a burger belly. This was not it.
I wanted to try something new and I was waiting for this burger to give that but it left me with just an emptiness in my tummy. Sure, the red bun was appealing but that was just it. Also tried the Parmesan Truffle Fries but very plain and no flavor.
What really just got me in awww mode was that they ran out of resources. Of course, the cashier was sweet and apologized that they didn’t have certain things on the menu. But it was a weekend and they should always be stocked up. Plus I wanted to try out the cereal and milk shake but they didn’t have any of it to make. And the soda tasted weird. Again it’s nice that they fixed it but it was one thing after another.
And it was really expensive for these burgers and fries. I don’t know about coming back here. maybe time will tell? :(

The workers were top notch, friendly and helpful! My best friend really enjoyed her Hang Loose burger. Face first, sauce and burger got everywhere but she didn’t even caaaare! Just inhaled the thing and never looked back.
Unfortunately, this is my review and I didn’t have quite the same experience as she did :(
I got the Juan and Only, which seemed to be the most recommended burger on Unilocal.Ugggh, big mistaaaake! Cream cheese, creamy chipotle sauce, creamy avocado… too much creeeeam. There was so much in there that you didnt even notice the freshness of the pico, and it desperately needed that freshness :(it was just a mushy and creamy burger :(that was overcooked too. 10 dollars waaaasted~
I will be back to try a different burger though! I don’t doubt that GD BRO Burger makes a good burger, I just personally didn’t enjoy the one I got. I have however been eyeing the Bojangles chicken sandwich at the Signal Hills location~

The Juan and Only Burger is the Only Juan For Me!
LOL. No, but seriously this place makes good burgers. And what’s even better is that they make raspberry buns so their buns are all red! :) You might get unlucky and they do run out of buns because of their popularity :/​.
GD Bro is located on 4^th Street, really close to the 55 Freeway. It was like off ramp, turn right, and bam right there! Whoop! I came in at 11am and it was empty there (but people were coming in right behind me). I ordered the Juan and Only, which contains jalapeño cream cheese, pico de gallo, chipotle mayo, and avocado. It takes about 7 – 10 minutes for them to make and for them to bring it out to you.
I did not see a restroom, so… your hands will get dirty and they will definitely smell. :P Especially if you get all the sauce all over your hands. The Juan and Only had the kick to it and you could definitely taste it as spicy. Their jalapeño cream cheese was gouda: D and all the flavors meshed in together to burn my tongue: P The buns don’t really have too much of a taste to it, and the only thing that made it different was that it was colored red (didn’t really taste any of the raspberry). The meat patty is made perfectly, medium rare, so that it won’t be dry and it has some juices in there.
You can also get it with a sunny side up egg, which I didn’t (additional charges). There are other burgers that you can try as well. The only thing is that it’s about $ 8-​$ 10 for a burger, so a bit higher than some places.
There is indoor seating (a couple tables) and they have a few tables outdoors as well.

If you’re reading this, I don’t need to tell you this because you already know the Unilocal ways of taking fingerlickin’ photos. GD Bro absolutely smashed it out of the park with how they planned their space and food so that we as the customers help market. Here it is:
1) Have visually stunning food
If you think it’s easy… make your own red burger and put an egg on it. I bet you it’ll end up looking like Elmo got stabbed with a banana. These guys nailed it with the toxic red raspberry bun, showcasing the amazing egg on top, and always making sure that there’s always sauce oozing from the sides.
2) Natural Lit Space
This is also not easy. Unless you’re on a hot date and you want to feel up your guy under the table, you’re probably like me and as you enter a dark restaurant and you immediately think, «Damn it’s too dark.» Take a look at all the photos in the gallery, they all look like you want to rent out a space in those burgers and cuddle up with that handsome patty.

This place serves a solid gourmet burger that’s not just for bros but every ethnicity in Southern California! They have a basic one with no frills, a Mexican themed one, an Asian one (KBBQ), and other variations that make this a melting pot that represents OC’s demographics.
I came for lunch and tried the Juan and Only (avocado, chipotle aioli) and added an egg. I also got the raspberry bun, bright red and subtly sweet — very unique and tasty. Although the burger was messy I enjoyed every bite, all the components went well, the meat was juicy, and it wasn’t overly savory.
I’d come back again to try the fries and maybe the Hawaiian themed burger or KBBQ one. My friend also got a drink and said it was refreshing. With the red bun and cool combos, this is a place to check out, bro or not!

4.5 stars for this new burger joint in Costa Mesa! They were apparently featured in food network’s great food truck race but this is a brick and mortar location
—Juan and only on «raspberry» bun: so juicy and flavorful! they recommend ordering the patty medium rare although I thought it was medium at most but still good! The bun didn’t taste like raspberries to me but it sure was bright red
—Parmesan truffle fries: good shoe string fries to go share with a friend!

Had to come here because I saw the red buns. Now who doesn’t like red buns?
Was recommended the Hang Loose Burger by their staff, and boy was it good! It came with pineapple and Terayaki sauce. The pineapple definitely gave it a kick. There was plenty of sauce in the burger and the melted geese came right off the burger. So good!
Also got their Parmesan Truffle fries. These were really good too. The sauce might be a little too much after eating it for awhile, but it was still good.
Would I recommend coming here? Yes! One of the better burger places I’ve had.

You definitely can’t judge a book by its cover! Awesome looking wall menu, trendy and hip layout and décor. Very clean and welcoming. The food, not as great. We went on the recommendations of the guy on staff which were the All American Burger and Juan and Only. Got Onion Rings and Truffle Parmesan Fries. The food came out fairly quickly and I could not wait to sink my teeth into it!
Verdict:
Both burgers were average. Tried both buns and they were about the same. I felt like the buns were too «airy» and light that it soaked up all the sauce, juices and oils. When you go to bite into it it’s like biting a sponge. If you don’t finish it fast the burger gets really soggy. Halfway through my burger fell apart and juices were dripping everywhere with each bite. For a burger that’s more than $ 8 or $ 9 I really expect the best.
Onion Rings were great and the batter part of it stayed crisp. Well done!
Truffle Fries were NOT great. I’d rate them average. Not something I’d try again.

Unique burger joint. I think it is the same owners as After’s Ice Cream? But please correct me if I am wrong.

Overall:
Try the burger and different kinds of fries. AND I heard they have pretty good selection of lemonades, but I have yet to try one.

I’ve seen them on The Great Food Truck Race and been following their instagram since. We finally came here today and it was worth the 2 hour drive from the Valley.
We ordered KBBQ Poutine with their famous raspberry bun, I added extra avocado on mine and my boyfriend added a fried egg on his. We also ordered Parmesan Truffle fries, KBBQ Poutine fries and their refresher drinks (watermelon, pineapple, spinach). Everything was flavorful!
Place is clean (bathroom too!), staff was friendly and service was great.
Can’t wait to come back!
