Thank God this place has closed! Always kids running around and screaming, with parents ignoring the rights of other customers.(only done by people of a particular nationality). Ignorance and lack of intelligence abound. And the managers and employees doing nothing about this(as the kids dipped their hands in the food). Disgusting. Brought this to the attention of the corporate offices, but no response. Why? Ethnic correctness. Please Trump become our new President!!!

What’s with all the bad reviews? This location has excellent service and the food surprised me in how good it was! Sure it’s not Michelin star quality, nor is it an extravagant Vegas buffet(who doesn’t love those!), but it delivers American staples and comfort food just fine. The chicken pot pies especially are great! Service was friendly and accommodating. Miguel the manager was always helping us with whatever we needed, from cutting the meat at the meat station to clearing our dishes. So gather those coupons from the mail and head on down to Hometown :)

Came here sunday evening for dinner and the place was a disaster. They kept running out of food, and not to mention the soda machine looked moldy, yuck! Never again…

Very clean and staff very friendly. Great taste and well stocked… it’s all you can eat and all you can drink… you can’t beat that. I love their baked salmon and bbq ribs, Yumm they’re the best. I’ve been to other hometown buffets and this is the best one. I truly recommend it.

So my friend and I left the gym starving ready to eat. We were tired of the typical chipotle etc and we felt like eating as much as possible. We chose to eat the salad over anything else because everything else was so disgusting. I swear on my life I will never return here and I will recommend this place to all of my enemies so they too will suffer. The only positive thing from this is you will get to bond with whoever you go over how shitty the food is and you’ll get plenty of laughs over watching your friends try things. It’s not even cheap! It’s fifteen a person if you get a drink and at that price you could eat twice at chipotle!!! It’s also morbidly unhealthy. Please don’t eat here. Please. As a public health major. Please avoid all hometown buffets

(I want to give ZERO stars, but the app requires at least 1 star) WHATHAPPENED Hometown Buffet? We used to eat at your Yorba Linda location every week(that location has since closed). It is almost impossible possible to mess-up Rice Krispie treats and vanilla ice cream, but your Santa Ana location couldn’t even get those two things right. Needless to say, the rest of the food was horrid! The protein was dry and salty, as well as tasteless(I have never experienced salty and tasteless, it was strange). The lettuce and goods at the salad bar was old/mixed-up and withered looking. The bathrooms were in serious need of cleaning. Worst of all, my husband and I left with an upset tummy, which continued throughout the night(it felt like our bodies were rejecting the food). We will NEVER, EVER eat at Hometown Buffet again!

Mother and I tried this buffet for the first time(This particular store that is), and were very impressed(The store in Garden Grove is NOT that good). The store at 2321 South Bristol is excellent and very clean. Unfortunately one of the buffet staff workers did NOT like me taking photos of the buffet(food). I didn’t understand that concept behind that rule as I did not encounter that issue in Las Vegas at any of their buffets! I wanted to show off HomeTown Buffet’s clean buffet and excellent food, but was stopped. Sorry that I am NOT able to show you the beautiful foods that were at their buffet.(July 23, 2015 mother and I visited and enjoyed the food at the South Bristol location)

It’s been over a year since I’ve been to this location. The last time I came here wasn’t that great. Plus reading all the negative Unilocal reviews didn’t help either. Luckily my mom persuaded me to come. Came in with my family today at around 6 p.m.(Friday) and the place wasn’t too packed. We were pleasantly surprised at the good service. The workers were attentive in clearing out our dishes and I saw the manager wiping down the buffet area, greeting tables, and clearing out some of our dishes. I would definitely come back if I was in the area. The chicken was pretty tasty also.

My family and I came here because my nephew was promoted from 6th grade today and so he got to choose where we went to eat. He decided to go to HomeTown Buffet and this was the closest one to us. There wasn’t anything wrong with the food, it was what you would expect out of a hometown buffet. But the restaurant didn’t have some things that they should have. Some of the food items looked like they hadn’t been changed all day… What made me give this place two stars was the fact that the first area we had chosen sit down in smelled like human urine!!! It was disgusting! The only reason we had chosen to sit there in the first place was because all the other tables either looked dirty, or had torn upholstery. The tables we finally decided to sit at were the best tables, but that wasn’t saying much. We spent $ 60 to feed us all, and I know it was partly due to the poor location, but I will not be going back to this HomeTown Buffet.

Really good place, great selections almost overwhelming. Food was all delicious, staff friendly, courteous and helpful. Dining room very clean. I don’t see why everybody else knocked place. I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you don’t like it don’t come.

Hi folks! Enjoy kids running around without any adult supervision? Do you enjoy seeing said kids grabbing all the food with their bare grubby unwashed hands? You do? Well come on down because we got all that plus most likely we will be out of the things that you would even consider eating!!! Wtf I know it’s a buffet and a low rent discount one at that but come on! Not a single employee here seems to care about their job and just let everyone do whatever they want. I’ve been to other locations that were far far far cleaner and more sanitary. This place is a disgrace to the brand and this location should be closed. How they even manage to pass health inspections are beyond me.

Only one star. I went on Thursday night at 8:30pm and at this point in the evening the food was not being made fresh. There was crusty hard food on all surfaces of the food stations. Two managers on duty apparantelly believe that this food is still good to eat and tried to assure me it was good. Visually it was so gross I walked out. I will never go to this location again. Based on that blatant lie. I suggest even though you close at 9 do not leave food in the warming station once it starts looking bad. Make new food. Would you eat that. I don’t think so. Don’t try to make me. Then instead of giving my money back they tried to give me a free meal. Why, when I nearly threw up, would I want a free meal. Thanks hometown I used to love your food. Now I’m trying to avoid you at all costs.

The only upside to this place was the Icee machine. The place was dirty, noisy, and the service wasn’t great. I’m normally not picky when it comes to buffets but the food tasted old and the some of the silverware wasn’t clean. The tables are all too close to each other & it’s just not a good restaurant. I was thoroughly disappointed.

Worst food! Mash potatoes were super sweet, the gravy looked black, the chicken tenders were so hard to bite into the fries were really cold. Didn’t finish any of that, decided that I should get a Rice Krispy and a cookie, both were so hard to bite into, gave it to stars because the cucumber wasn’t so bad. Every nice service though.

This place was disastrous. Worst buffet place I’ve ever been. Place lacked assortment of food plus the staff just didn’t seem to care. Had about 1 out of the 6 staff working the whole time I was in this place. Rice was undercooked, had some pink/undercooked chicken, cinnabon was cold/hard, steak looked like it’s been there for at least 3 days. everything just sucked. Waste of time, waste of money, just a total waste. Ratings should be 0⁄5.

I totally hate this place. Workers are assholes and there is a very small selection of food compared to that of the one on 17th The manager is a creepy douche and all together it sucks although they have a good bathroom go figure right!

My grandpa insisted that we take him to dinner here We came right before the rush because the line was out the door when I looked back after paying. Once we paid, it was a struggle for awhile trying to find a clean table for 8 people. It was chaos. Children were running around, people were rushing to the buffet lines out of order, and others shouting at each other. It was something I cannot get use to. None of the food looked at appetizing to me. I tried the ribs and it was dry and salty. The mac n cheese and potatoes were very runny. The popcorn chicken were dry and over cooked. My favorite thing there were the cornbread which was decent. As for dessert, it wasn’t that bad. They had a good apple cobbler. All the cakes were dry and the soft serve ice cream had a funky tap water smell to it. For $ 12.50 a person(not including drinks), I thought it was expensive for the type of food they had. You can tell everything was either from can or frozen. From the years ago that I have gone to Hometown Buffet, they now have a spice/sauce bar which I thought was cool, and an area where a chef makes stir fry of your item choices you like. The day following, I felt like crap. I wouldn’t come back. Buffets aren’t my thing, but if you must, I think dishing a few extra bucks for Brazilian BBQ buffets, or a sushi buffet is a better choice.
