La Quinta Inn & Suites Orange County – Santa Ana

I’ve stayed at this La Quinta location several times on trips to Irvine/​the OC. I’ve never been disappointed by the price, especially for the convenience of the location. The rooms have always been clean and the service friendly.
My most recent stay was even more pleasant than previous ones. I had booked ahead of time online and when I got to my room there was a lovely handwritten note, bottle of water, and bag of chocolate chip cookies from the management staff (Ms. Jones, I believe her name was). This little act of hospitality made my stay all the more pleasant.
Parking is free and so is the WiFi. They have a decent breakfast selection and like I said, the location off the 55 freeway cannot be beat.

I stayed here this past weekend, and let me tell you, I am VERY disappointed.
–My family booked a room for two double beds. But when we checked in, we got a room with only ONE king bed and a twin sized pull-​out sofa bed. We asked if we could switch rooms but they weren’t able to accommodate us even when we paid for a room with two beds. They didn’t even offer us another deal.
–The pull-​out sofa bed was really uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on the floor. We asked if they could provide us with a roll-​away bed, but apparently they don’t have that either.
–The refrigerator was also not working at all. It did not keep any of our food and beverages cold.
–Both of our room keys were also not working. Too many trips to the front desk for minor things that shouldn’t be an issue.
Overall, this hotel was displeasing. I wouldn’t recommend. I guess you get what you pay for.

Not recommended. Smelled horrible of smoke and tons of flies. Hair in the shower that was not cleaned. Would definitely not stay here again. Very old!

We got a great rate for a last minute Disneyland trip. This property is about 10 – 15 minutes away via freeway from Disneyland, but with the rate and hotel quality, it was worth the trip.
We got a king suite with a sofa sleeper. There was a separate living room area and a wet bar with a microwave and fridge. Room was spacious and clean, but the layout was a bit odd. The TV was in the other room and you had to turn to face the room to watch the TV. The fridge was next to a wall and when you open the fridge door, you had to squeeze through a narrow space to access the fridge. But all in all, we were happy with the room.
They offer a basic continental breakfast with bagels, muffins, juice, coffee, cereal and make your own waffles. They had hard boiled eggs and apples, but it was hard to find no/​low carb options.
We were on the top floor so no worries about hearing footsteps above us. There didn’t seem to be much traffic going through the front of our room. This La Quinta is an open design with the rooms facing an open air balconies that surround the pool and garden area. It’s a step above a motel concept. It’s an older property and needs some upgrades both to the exterior and interior of the property.
Location is close to the 55 in a business area. There are plenty of fast food and casual dining places close by. All in all, I’d come back if the price was right.

overall look and feel of the hotel, room and common areas do NOT look anywhere close to the photos on Unilocal or La Quinta’s company website. The front of the hotel is being remodeled. Questionable people hanging out in the parking lot.
Room was old, outdated and WORN looking. Breakfast was a JOKE, runny oatmeal and nothing looked worth putting in my mouth.
I has a reservation for 2 nights for around $ 110/​night and they put me in a room with a window that faces a big inside wall so I had to keep the curtains closed the entire time. Felt like I slept in a box.
It was such a poor experience, I checked out the next day after only 1 night and went to a neighboring hotel brand with clean rooms, good attitude employees and most of all edible breakfast for just 10% more.

Hands down the worst place I have ever stayed. Alfredo Carrillo was provided terrible customer service. The place is an absolute dirty hotel. If you make a reservation for 2 double beds good luck, when you will show up they will tell you they are «sold out.» Do yourself a favor and stay away from this dump. Pay an extra couple of dollars and stay at a half decent hotel.

I guess you get what you pay for. My room was dirty, rips in the sofa, sofa cushion flipped upside down so not fitting correctly, stains throughout the carpet, wash cloth hanging from shower rod from a previous guest etc. I could go on & on. I’ve stay at other La Quintas and have had a pleasant experience. Obviously the attention to cleanliness, detail & guest comfort are not a focus at this property. I would suggest staying elsewhere.

It served its purpose as a place to rest my head during the weekend of a seminar I attended. The only downfall I had was the noise. It is extremely loud. I’m a light sleeper, so I had a rough time. The walls are paper thin, and I believe my room was next to the kitchen or at least a prep room of some sort because each morning from 5−7am I heard nothing but clanking and extremely loud talking and carts rolling. Then at night when I was trying to sleep, there was loud yelling and people screaming until 2−3am in the parking lot. Not sure if they were staying at the hotel or not, but it was constant each night. All in all, I won’t be staying here again, but if you can handle noise at night and the morning, it’ll be just fine for you. Pros: microwave and fridge in the room. The bed was comfy for me too.

Free breakfast included. It was just okay. There wasn’t creamer for coffee and it has no taste. The waffles were decent & the oatmeal was VERY bland & the bagels tasted stale. Also, we wanted/​needed room service & someone on our floor inserted the do not disturb sign in our key slot, so our room never got serviced. We also had a problem after this, our entire bed was completely DRENCHED in water & we still have yet to figure out why. They did give us a new room but that was completely weird & they said that it was normal for people to be putting do not disturb signs on random doors. You would think they would mention that. Good location, good price, uncomfortable bed, but decent spacious room. I guess you get what you pay for.

If you’re looking for an extravagant looking room, this is not it.
Room — Executive King room. Very motel-​y feel to this room. Carpet looked very old and the blue leather couches oh my. Some of the faux leather started ripping the minute I sat down on it and i’m a petite girl. The bed wasn’t comfy and the blankets did not keep me warm at all. The AC unit was very loud. The TV wasn’t even directly in front of the bed, it was located in the «living room», and we had to figure out a way to turn it towards us. The bathroom was located directly in front of the bed. GROSS. We’re all human and we have to do a #2 so it’s not fun when the smell hits directly in the middle of the night while sleeping.
Hotel — Parking was perfect, free, and tons of spaces. The hotel itself wasn’t that extravegant. The lady at the front desk was very rude and i’m always ridiculously nice to people and she even made me give some attitude. The continental breakfast is just basic fruits with a frozen waffle. The staff in that area was very nice which made my morning. But I won’t find myself booking this hotel ever again.

Got the room next to the freeway very noise from the freeway traffic can’t sleep. .parking is limited I have to park far from the room not happy. .I never come back again..

I travel for the company and have two dogs the company agrees to allow me to bring them along, Awesome, need my puppies!

Good value for your money if you are staying in the Orange County area, access to the 55 freeway, John Wayne Airport, Disney and other tourist spots. Expect to pay just under $ 100 per night.
However, you’ll need to temper your expectations, as this hotel needs a renovation. They are starting to change out the carpets and gutting the rooms. The good news is that the rooms are ok and you can feel comfortable sleeping and taking a bath/​shower there.

We stayed at La Quinta because they offer Park and Fly. We live an over hour from John Wayne airport so the Park & Fly is great, especially when traveling on Thanksgiving holiday. The hotel was rated a 3 star so we thought we’d give it a shot. I would not recommend this hotel. The room was filthy dirty, I wouldn’t sit on the sofa without putting a towel down, no way would my feet touch the carpet or tile in the bathroom.
The TV was in between the bedroom and living area, I t wasn’t comfortable to watch from either room. The breakfast was less than good. I took two bananas to go, I would not have eaten in the so called dining room. I’ve stayed at Motel 8 that is better than this place. The only good thing I can say about it is the shuttle ride was only 10 mins. from the airport and it was on time. We will NOT stay at this hotel again.

Room was ok, but they need to replace the carpet.
Free included breakfast is always great but this location main offering the three days we stayed was a paste like oatmeal .
Yummy waffles available too so not all was lost.
Everything else in motel is clean

Very spacious hotel room. The walls are a little on the thin side. I could hear people talking, a dog barking and a baby crying. Lucky for me I can handle wearing ear plugs at night. There is a wet bar in the living room space.
Strange modern couch. TV is in an odd spot, but I was able to watch TV from the bed. Found a empty baggy of some narcodic under our mattress. I guess people like to party hard here.
Bonus is the breakfast. Good stuff. Wake up early, because people are hungry!!! Check out the Embassy Suites for dinner. You are about 4 miles from downtown Santa Ana. Overall an okay place.

Terrible experience! I reserved a room with my wife here and we got situated. The remote wouldn’t change the channel, the TV is positioned away from the bed at an angle. The TV is in the «living room» while there is none in the «bedroom». So while I’m lying on the bed I have to turn my head left to watch TV. No big deal. Unfortunately, my wife and I went to a restaurant and when we came back all our stuff was gone. The maids came in and cleaned it up! I had just checked in. Why would they clean it up a couple of hours later? Just a bad experience all around.

With the renovations completed this place was a nice spot to stay, it’s one of the only places I know I can count on when showing up in the early morning hours to have a room.
I suggest this chain to everyone I know who’s on the move and needing someplace to stay.

Stayed here recently for my belated company holiday party. Didn’t want to drink and drive so we found this on Priceline Express Deals, for only about 70 bucks. For the record, it is a 2.5 star hotel on the deal sites.
I was so pleasantly surprised. The room is huge and there is a little sofa that could even fit a 3^rd or 4^th person if the night got a little TOO crazy. There was also a small wet bar, which we loved.
I made it out to the pool area which was very nice and the hot tub is huge! Also in the general vicinity is the breakfast café. I really enjoy that there is a designated breakfast area because I think it’s so awkward when hotels have their breakfast in the lobby, I always feel like I’m taking food from the employees’ personal supply.
The hotel itself is in an area with lots of other hotels so it may be a little difficult to find. Doesn’t offer much in the walking-​around department, you’ll probably have to drive or Über everywhere.
All in all, I would stay again IF there was an event in the area. But since there is not much of interest to me nearby, don’t know if that will actually happen.

If I could give a zero, i would.
I’d like to preface by letting the readers know I am NOT the type of person to typically complain. All my other reviews praise businesses but I am SOO upset with my stay at La Quinta so please read on if you’re thinking of booking here.
My boyfriend and I used
to book what was advertised as a 3.5 star hotel. We were already rubbed the wrong way when it took us 30 minutes to check in and were then told there were only smoking rooms available. We got room 363 and there is no elevator on the back side of the «hotel» so up and down three flights of stairs we went.
Holy crap our room wreaked of cigarettes and marijuana! The furniture was really worn, the TV was small and hard to see from the bed, limited television channels, the bathroom toilet and shower could use a scrub down, the carpet was stained near the bed, loud banging and noises ALL night… ugh i could go on and on but that’s not even why im giving one star…
Like I said, I’m not a complainer so we brushed it off and tried to enjoy each others company instead of dwelling on such a craphole. In the morning, we joined the continental breakfast downstairs which wasn’t great nor terrible. We packed up our luggage and were right about to leave and check out when BOOM my boyfriend found a small bag on the floor right beside the bed of what appears to be cocaine.
I dont do drugs. I dont even drink alcohol. Ive been sober almost 3 years! WTF?!?
We took pictures, grabbed the bag, and on our way to the front desk to show them, we found other bags all along the floor that were empty but had remnants of heroin.
This was 2 weeks ago. We have been calling and calling to try to reach a manager to discuss this issue and so far, they’re screwing us around. «Leave your name and number and I’ll have them get back to you.» or «He/​She isn’t in right now».
DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU’RE A JUNKIE.
