I’ve been wanting to get my wheels powder coated ever since I curbed my wheels. Well, let’s just say it started when I was on vacation for a week and let my sister borrowed my BMW. Arrived home to see one of my wheels curbed. Then, a couple of weeks after, I was returning from a business trip and curbed another wheel exiting John Wayne Airport. FML.
So now with 2 or 3 curbed wheels, it was time to go the powder coating route. I had some experience with another shop on Halladay st. which didn’t turn out as nice — if you aren’t aware, there are at least 2 – 3 other powder coating shops very close by.
Overall working with Fausto was an easy process. I needed wheels to be fixed, powder coated, and new tires installed. I knew that I wanted something very glossy and was happy that Fausto had the 90% gloss available. In my opinion, you should go with 90% gloss. It really does bring out the black (especially if you have glossy black trim around the car). 20% gloss would be too dull, again, just my opinion. It took about 1.5 days to complete everything, but the results were amazing. And amazing price too. See for yourself below.

I got my brabus rims done here a couple months ago. Fautso is a very nice guy. Initially I felt happy because he said remount and balance tires for free. So I left the rims there. $ 300 charge to hi-​polish 4 rims. I’ve seen similar prices at other places, but chose this one because of the ratings. I picked them up and saw that one rim had pitting on it. I asked him why he did not remove and he said «impossible to remove». Myself, a car guy, I know that the steps to polish aluminum wheels include a multiple step sanding process, this should have taken care of the small pitting on the face. I accepted (shame on me) and left with all 4 rims. A couple weeks later, I just could not stand it. I texted him asking what steps and what products he used on the rims so I could fix it myself. He said it was a 4step process. This shocked me as most places use 6 or 7 steps. I asked him what products he used (so the products I would use would not ruin the rims) and he refused to answer. A couple weeks ago I texted him again and asked him what products he uses (MY PROFESSIONAL DETAILER) told me to ask (again so he would not compromise the finish), and Fautso said just use soap and water and refused to inform what products. My professional detailer was in disbelief. I will not be coming back here, and to anyone considering getting hi-​polish here go somewhere else. This is not the place for polished rims to go. Maybe he’s good at fixing rims but from what I know «4 step» is not the way to go. I hate writing bad reviews but I just have to let people know.

I got my tires powder coated by Fausto at MetalWorks on two separate vehicles, both times the work was AMAZING! MetalWorks is professional, prompt, and they do a really precise job. I had my previous vehicle for three years before I traded it in, never a chip on any of the rims. What the dealer quoted as being over $ 1,200, Fausto did for a third of the price. I get compliments on my rims daily. Not only did Fausto fit me in at a time that was convenient for me, he got me out sooner than he initially said he would, all because I needed to be somewhere. I appreciate his courtesy and talent. Thanks, MetalWorks, for making my ride look LEGIT!

Fausto never fails to impress me. He repaired two of my Lexani LF-​714 21’s when they were scuffed at a carwash. These wheels are a 3-​piece and just came out a year ago and was not happy at first because they’re $ 1,300 a piece. He repaired them for $ 225 a piece! I bought a used set of 22″ Vossen CV1’s with tires for $ 1100 from a guy who knew nothing about cars and wheels. Had Fausto realign and make them new again with black gloss. This man is amazing and even though he knows I can afford things more than others he wasn’t out to take my money and refurbished my wheels for $ 700. You’re the man! I appreciate your support to us Veterans!

I needed tires for my little Jeep Wrangler and was shocked at how expensive they were. A friend recommended MetalWords & Tire and I could not be happier. 4 NEW tires mounted and balanced here were a full 250 $ less than Costco!
Fausto told me when to come in and as soon as I arrived started working on my Jeep. Watching him remove and replace the tires on the rims and then balance them was pretty cool. He works so fast. He also showed me how much brake pads I had left and gave man an idea how many miles were left before they needed replacing.
Less than one hour of my time and the job was done for a remarkable price. I strongly recommend MetalWorks & tire and will be back whenever I need tires.

Came in again, since Fausto gave me such excellent service last time. I bought these original equipment Mercedes wheels from a salvage yard to put on my 2005 320CLK. They were in ok condition with curb rash and some nice scratches on the face of some. They came off a totaled C series Mercedes. They were a staggered set. Wanted to bring back the original look on my Mercedes. Fausto said no problem, he said he can repair them plus powder coat them and they will look new. Well they look better than new :). Excellent work by Fausto !! He knows what he is doing !!! I also needed to put new tires on with these wheels, which of course got at Metal Works. Came out of there with a smile due to the quality and fair pricing Fausto offers. Overall more than satisfied. I will as I stated in 2014, continue to use Fausto for my wheel issues. See pictures.

I am very happy with what a great job this place did with making my rims look brand new again. I bought my car used and the previous driver kept rubbing the rims against the side walk so they were in pretty bad shape. So I came in and Fausto helped me and talked me through what they can do to make my rims look great again. I went with a gun metal powder coat and now they look new. I would highly recommend this place. I saved a lot of money here.

Fausto is the best. I took my porsche there for a bent wheel repair and he diagnosed the wheels for me and gave me the honest opinion that they are damaged beyond reasonable repair. He was a great business man and very kind. Thanks for your help.

It sucks that i have to do this, but i was really disappointed with Fausto at the end of my experience.
I took my 2015 Yukon Denali to have the wheels powder coated black. He told me it would be done by the end of the next business day. Monday comes around and i don;t hear from him at all. Finally, I call him at 2:30pm and ask if it would be ready. He stated «Oh yeah, I’m working on it now. Let me take some pictures and send to you.» I didn’t hear back from him until 4:30pm, at which time i figured it wasn’t going to be ready that day so i decided to sit down at a restaurant to eat. he texted me that i could come pick up the truck and he is only there until 5pm. Really? You’re going to wait all day to text me and then only give me 30 minutes to get there?
After I had already paid him for his services (in a rush) and brought it home, I noticed that there were white streaks on the headliner of my truck, like someone had some type of wax or solution on a towel and brushed it across the headliner. I had just had it washed and always check my vehicle inside and out before i drop it off anywhere to be worked on, including the dealership. It was perfectly clean inside and out when i dropped it out to him. That wasn’t the case when i picked it up. the streaks were on my headliner and there was drip spots on my seat. Why anyone from that shop would need to go INSIDE my truck is beyond me. They were only doing the wheels. Of course, since he had my money already, he denied everything, saying it wasn’t him and they were not responsible. His attitude was «oh well, not my problem.»
Now that I think about it, seems a little odd that he would rush me to pick it up, pay and get out of there quickly, then i find something wrong with it…
Very disappointing because the wheel work is actually really good (the only reason it deserves an additional star at all). The business practices, however, are unacceptable. I really wish this had not happened, because i was ready to refer anyone i knew that was looking for wheel work. after this experience, I suggest going elsewhere, if you care about the rest of your car and don’t want to take a risk on having it ruined.

Metal Works Place and Fausto saved me some serious cash. I have been looking for some three season sticky tires, to put on my recently acquired 17 inch wheels.
I wanted some lightly used, or factory «take offs». I’ve shopped all over Orange County, and the Southbay, Torrance, Redondo Beach & Wilmington. I even found some great tire prices with free shipping on eBay.
I found Metal Works Place online and I will not bother with any other store. I got four lightly used Continentals for a great price, mounted & balanced (that won’t happen on eBay)
I’ve also got two alloy wheels that have been curbed. They do refinishing and powder coating so I will be returning soon for that.
I’m so satisfied with the work, Fausto does a great job.

I had the unfortunate honor to hit the trunk of a tree that fell off of a truck on the 241 toll road. I knew immediately that my rim was bent. I found Fausto from Unilocal and he was able to see me right away. I brought my tire and rim in and he put it on the wheel balancer and knew right away I was in trouble when he said «ouch». lol
He told me he could fix it and the price was less than I expected based on the damage I had incurred. Within a few hours, he had it fixed and even mounted it for me in the pouring rain.
I hope I never have to use him again, but if I do, I am thankful to have found him.
His shop is VERY clean and very lean thinking minded. Conveniently located and near places to eat in case you choose to wait.

This was a good experience. Fausto was great — took my call, worked up the quote, kept it competitive and within my budget, accommodated my last minute schedule change, and offered tire related advice while he was changing the tires. I serviced my 2007 BMW X3 with sport package — got front tires replaced with high performance jinyu yu61 235/​45ZR19 99W XL 280 AA A. He competitively priced both the installation fee and the tires based on my research (america’s tire, ebay, amazon, tirerack, other Unilocal rated places). I will be back to service my rear tires.

Highly recommend Fausto!

We took our rim to several places that misdiagnosed the problem and our rim continued to leak air.
I spent hundreds of dollars on new tires and valve stem sensors and my tire continued to leak!
We finally brought it to MetalWorks and there were 5 cracks and a leak in the valve stem. It only cost us $ 170 to have the rim welded and re-​chromed and the valve stem fixed. It’s been over two weeks now and no problems. They did a great job and I would most definitely recommend them to friends and family as well as use them in the future.

I found him on Unilocal through his reviews I headed over to his shop. I wanted some of my wheels refinished and powder coated. He explained what he was going to do and how long it would take to finish. He is good at advising on what colors would look good. Since then I have been going to Metal works place for all my wheel and tire needs.

Just got my wheels powder coated at Metal Works, they did an amazing job! They have great service with top shelf quality. I definitely recommend it!

If you want to get your rims powder coated in Orange County let me save you some time. MetalWorks and Fausto are the real deal. Let start with the others:

OK back to MetalWorks. Fausto is a down to earth guy, patient, and very helpful with suggestions for what colors and types of powdercoat. His prices are very fair and even installed loaner wheels (who does that???) on my ride so I wouldn’t be without a car and dismount/​mount in his price. I also had more piece of mind that his place is a tire shop so didn’t feel as nervous if other powder coating places don’t work with tires/​rims as much.
Ask him why he recommends Cardinal… and after lots thinking I went with T002-​BK08 Black #27 038 20% Gloss. Very happy with the results!

Fausto magically turned my beat up wheels on a 13 year old car into a set that is so fresh and so clean. His communications are always prompt and easy. I emailed him a few questions on a Monday, got my answers and called him at 4pm. Brought the car over, he loaned me a set of wheels to drive home in. Gave me a receipt, let me choose a basic powder coat color, and sent me on my way. On Wednesday at 2pm, I receive an email letting me know the wheels are ready. The quality is spot on and there is a 1 year warranty on the work. Reasonable pricing from a hard working man.
I thought the price he quoted was purely for the powder coating. All the wheels had some type of curb rash, and because I am cheap and did not really care if the rash was just coated over, I did not mention it to Fausto. When I saw the finished product, I was amazed and pleasantly surprised. Every wheel was smooth and appeared as though no rash had ever occurred. Above and beyond expectations.
