Good phở, I was impressed with the amount that you receive for a fair price. A lot of people complain about the service but the phở is brought to you very fast. Don’t expect for them to wait on you hand and foot which I think some people want, for whatever reason. Great for in and out type of stop.

As soon as i walked in I could tell that the owners thought I was lost or didn’t want me there because I was white or something. Idk. That was not a welcoming feeling. The restaurant was a little dingy and needed a serious décor update, but the Unilocal reviews were alright and the name pretty much got my heart! Lol The service altogether was just terrible. They didn’t really care about what I wanted and they kept trying to rush me. While I was waiting there for my food they didn’t talk to me or make any sort of eye contact with me. Talk about awkward! I ordered the shrimp phở and the shrimp were basically raw and not de-veined. You can see they don’t really care about the quality of their food considering it was a phở place, but the broth was alright. The egg rolls I ordered were good, but honestly, I definitely won’t eat here again.

I’ve been here a few times, and I’ve always ordered the chicken phở, I rate the phở a 4 stars, but the service is a 1.

Service was terrible, ordered extra stuff and the waiter never brought it over. There were flies in the restaurant.

My girlfriend and I were trying to find a casual place to have a decently healthy meal late at night. We ended up giving this a try and there wasn’t anything really special about this place. It has just as much selection as most phở places in the neighborhood, but why I give it such a low rating is because within the hour we both had stomachaches. We pretty much just suffered through it for the rest of the night up. Anyways, we didn’t order anything special or fancy(just phở and brisket) and it didn’t seem like coincidence we both got stomachaches. Although we did get a funny inside joke slash punchline out of this place, I wouldn’t really recommend it.

Phở is meh. Also I didn’t order it! But I took it anyway. Bun was kinda stale. Hastily put together and not fresh. Service was really bad. They brought wrong orders to the table. I was like OK! I might go back.

Free drink with every meal. Beware of any establishment that draws you in with gimmicks. For this particular visit, I ordered the combination phở, which is the one that includes tripe, and any other parts of the cow that you would be better off not knowing about. The broth was bland. Considering how clear it was, I can’t imagine plain water having less flavor. The noodles were undercooked, and took some effort to break apart. However, they didn’t skimp on the meat, and included all the typical fixings(mint leaves, jalapeño, bean sprouts, chili sauce, and hoisin). The drink that accompanied the meal was small. If you plan on going here, don’t do it simply for the free drink. It’s tiny, and definitely not worth it. As for the ambiance, the place has clinical, harsh white lights, and the requisite Vietnamese variety show on the TV. The prices are typical for this type of place — between $ 5 to $ 8 per dish. Usually, you’ll be able to get by on $ 10/person, and that includes tip. The service is what you would expect at a late night Asian joint. Prepare to point out the items on the menu that you want, and expect borderline rude service. You won’t receive a check. Note your table number(either on the top of the napkin holder, or on the wall near your table), go up to the register, and give them that number. Don’t ask them to turn the channel if it happens to be showing any type of Asian programming. Just trust me on this one. Overall, try the other phở places in the area. The only positives about this place are the late hours(open ’til 2:30AM on weekends), the fact that it beats going to Denny’s or Norm’s at a late hour, and they don’t skimp on the meat in the dishes.

I have been her with my family and friends(kids incl), usually a group of 8+…the food is good for everyone. My son(17 y/o) is not a Phở fan and has found other items on the menu. They have the BEST egg rolls! Stay away from the Vietnamese coffees UNLESS you wanna stay up for 10 hours SOLID!!! Don’t expect excellent customer service… shoot, don’t even expect service with a smile.

You get a free drink with every meal… nuff said. Naw just kidding but seriously the place is good enough with a nice selection and stays open late. Honestly I haven’t noticed too many differences in a lot of the phở places in this area. I only do this one because they give me a free drink so Orange soda it is please. The rib dish and the original phở noodle dish are my go-to’s.

When its dark and cold outside and most places are closed, and you want phở. This is where I go. Not because its the best. Not because the service is good. Because its cheap, its open, and its better than phở Thanh. If you want this, you already know you want it, and its going to give you exactly what you expect from it and nothing more. Moderate phở, for cheap, whenever you can go there.

This place has been the usual for my family for a while, but after a while things change and you look elsewhere for better. There are better places scattered arround in the OC. Prices are pretty decent and the service isn’t too bad. If you’re looking for overall taste there are other options.

4.5 Stars Phở 54 is Phở-king great!!! Best Phở restaurant in my book. But I usually only come here for Phở and nothing else. I usually get a regular Phở Chin Nam Ve Don. Lots of meat and the soup is very very bold and flavorful, just the way I like it. Service is pretty good(for a viet restaurant), your food comes within a few minutes and it’s steaming hot.

The phở flavor is mild at best. The workers kept on talking to us in Vietnamese even when we persistently told them we were not Vietnamese and talked back in English. I wasn’t impressed with the food and am not looking forward to coming back. I think I’d rather go to Phở QT half a block away.

My family always go here after our trip back from Laughlin. The good thing is that they give you free drink. This place is recommended if you order Phở To Go because they give you very big portions to share with your family. If you eat there, the quality of the beef is ok. It’s not my favorite Phở Place. I only go here when my family wants to eat Phở.

Went here today, it was decently good compared to the ones in Irvine. The restaurants in Irvine charge about $ 6.50 for a X-Large bowl of phở! Here it is only $ 5.25, and the bowl is huge. I usually go with a friend and get an XL bowl and some egg rolls. Number 1 is the way to go!!! DACBIET!!! hahaha also remember to get some gas on brookhurst since its so close… the shell gives you a discount if you pay with cash!
