History

Established in 2003.

Templo Calvario CDC was launched by Templo Calvario, a church with a 75 year history of service in Santa Ana. Although the CDC formally received non-profit status on July 9, 2003, its efforts to serve the community go back more than 26 years.

The Obras de Amor Food Bank was the first tool used to reach out to those needing emergency food assistance, an initiative started in 1985.

Later came the opportunity to start a charter school and with it Templo Calvario CDC was formally established. Originally, the charter school was located at church location but three years later, as their numbers grew the school moved to Walnut and First Street in downtown Santa Ana.

Since then, Templo Calvario CDC has grown and has operated a multitude of programs that serve families and empower individuals to help them reach their potential and achieve self sufficiency.
