A long overdue review for a great local business and proprietor: I went here seeking a tuxedo about a month before my wedding date. Rick provided excellent information, service and advice to a guy who knew absolutely nothing about picking out a good tuxedo. Every part of the process went smoothly — you can tell Rick has been in the business for awhile and he knows his stuff. Ultimately, everything was ready on time as promised, fit amazingly and made me and my groomsmen look slick for the big day.
Selection is a little small, but all of the essentials are definitely covered for a very fair price. I would not hesitate to refer or return for any tux & suit needs.

My fiancé and I went here to discuss our wedding needs. Rick was great from the first phone call. As promised, we went in with our ideas of what should be done and his expertise gave us a great perspective. He suggested a suit combination (vs. tux) and it looks great! We will be getting suits for the other men/​boy in the wedding party as well and I can’t wait to see them in their suits.
In terms of customer service, I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Rick is actually a very accomplished magician and showed us a magic trick while we were there. We are big fans of supporting small business owners vs the larger chains when we can and Rick showed us why.
Give him a try. Good selection and reasonable prices.

Rick did an amazing job for my wedding. He was very knowledgeable and very accommodating for myself and all my groomsman for my wedding. Despite not being able to have everyone come in and try stuff on, he was able to work with us up until the big day to make sure everyone looked great. I was more than satisfied with Rick’s services and I would recommend him to anyone. Don’t make the mistake of using a Men’s Wearhouse/​Friar Tux, you’ll look better, have less headaches, and pay less if you choose Tuxedos by Formal Magic. I can’t thank Formal Magic enough for making sure everyone was happy.

Needed 5 tuxedos for my daughters Quincianiera. I went all over OC hitting up the Big name brand spots with no luck. So, here is my 2 cents… stop looking for other places to shop, dont waste your time like i did. Come here first, this place offers quality tailoring and quality customer service. The owner takes pride in his work!

I dont understand why this place doesnt have any reviews, but Im glad to be the first one. My husband and his groomsmen used Formal Magic’s tuxedos. The owner? was easy to deal with, even when we had a groomsmen out of state. His prices are reasonable and the selection and quality of tuxedos is great. Will definitely recommend this place to others. Stay out of Friar tux and Mens Warehouse and come here!!!
