I love the atmosphere here! I had my hair done with a light metallic brown/​blonde ombré with the balayage technique done by Scarlet. I hope I worded that right haha. but i had the best experience ever where $$ didnt matter at all! My hair turned out great and she really paid attention to detail and care. She gave advices on how to maintain my hair. FINALLY found a hair stylist i really like and trust! Ive walked out disappointed or felt like it was okay at so many places and was scared to go out of my comfort zone. but with my hair done by Scarlet today. i walked out feeling really good and in love with my hair! It was a really different experience and i didnt want to share this experience on Unilocal because i kind of want this spot to be a secret so that she can always have time for me! For sure you need an appointment though! Money well spent! This place gave me a new addiction where i really want to always have great hair and keep it well maintained! Theres a lot more to this place and its definitely an enjoyable experience! Dont want to share all the perks before it becomes an expectation. but i seriously love the outcome of my hair!!! Super super satisfied! More than satisfaction! Excited to show off her work!

I may have found me my new hair stylist! Leticia was fantastic! They had limited time the day I went but she worked with me to accommodate the services I wanted to get. I came with different pictures and she knew exactly what I wanted done and executed flawlessly :) she offered suggestions and communicated well with me. she was careful with handling my hair too. I would definitely come back and recommend her, and varekai’s services, which were reasonably priced. The salon was clean, quiet, and is right at the south coast metro area.

Leticia is the best!!! I have been going to her for 8 years now and can never get the same perfect results with anyone else! I am always changing my hair color and style and every time I describe to her what I want she nails it every time and it ends looking better than I ever expected. I highly recommend this woman! Scarlet is the best colorist! I found her through Unilocal and have been with her since bleach touched my virgin black hair. It’s been exactly a year and we have been through a hair journey together. From brown to blonde, blonde to blue, blue to violet, ombré to highlights, lowlights, everything! I ask a ton of questions and Scarlet always has an answer for me. Even though I probably annoy the hell out of her LOL. Anyway, whatever you ask of her, it’ll look fabulous. I always show her ridiculous hair pictures and expect it to turn out a certain way. Of course it doesn’t because I’m crazy and always want to bleach my hair. I can’t stick to a style… Or color. But she makes it work for me and it looks amazing! I get compliments on my hair all the time.
Tip: Carlos bakes goods everyday.

I came in with a vision for what I wanted to do with my hair. I sat with ALINE. She said she could absolutely do what what in my picture. Then she proceeded to ask me questions. She explained low maintenance hair vs low maintenance hair. She asked me about my daily routine and we decided that the vision I originally had would not be realistic for me to maintain. I really appreciate that she took the time to educate me and explain every step of the process. I love the amazing job she did. My hair looks incredible and feels amazingly soft. She didn’t try to up sell me on products or services. She was honest and is a true professional. I look forward to going to Aline for years to come.

Aline did my blow out this morning and I was in an out in under 30 minutes. I know it’s a blow out, but when going to drybar my time has never been that quick with my hair not as good. I love good volume to my hair and she made that happen. I know I just walked out, but I love how it turned out. Plus a great find for booking after 5pm the day before

Carlos is the best! He’s so professional has never kept me waiting for my appointment and is always in my best interest when he gives me advice.
The whole staff is friendly and the salon itself is super clean and very modern.

I would highly recommend booking an appointment with Aline at Vereki Salon. Aline was formally working at Drybar meaning her blowouts are incredible. From haircuts, ombré, balayage and keratin treatments, I’ve trusted her with my hair and have always been happy with the results. Not only is she a talented stylist, she is also well-​educated and knowledgeable of her profession. She really takes pride in her work and loves what she does. Aline has never tried to upsell me or pressure me into something I’m not comfortable with. Each time I’ve seen Aline, she gives me honest responses to my questions and gives me the best possible solution to my hair problems. If you’re looking for a high-​quality stylist at a reasonable cost who won’t bullshit you then Aline is your girl.
Side note: I have long, thick, dark hair and I get highlights regularly. Aline has recommended many products that don’t benefit her pocket– she’s just the sweetest person who actually cares about the health of your hair.

If you’re looking for a superb stylist, go to Cathy. She has been styling my hair for about a year and this is the first time I have ever liked me hairdo. She listens intently, works with her clients, but also subtly gives you the benefit of her experience. I was considering bangs and she told me to think twice about it and gave me longer swept to the side bangs, which work great for me and soften my face. I’m so glad she advised me to avoid the full-​on bangs. She checks in at every appointment to see what worked and what didn’t and adjusts accordingly. The salon has a nice, relaxed vibe. Some salons have blaring music and video, but you can relax in this one.

I have been going here for nearly 6 years and would give this place 10 stars if I could! I have really coarse curly hair that is difficult to deal with and was really reluctant to try a new stylist. However, Aline has been my saving grace! I’ve gone to her for a variety of services = chemical straightening, blow outs, color, and trim. She’s always professional, gives great haircare advice, and has me walking out the door looking amazing.
On a side note — the salon is always really clean and the staff is always so friendly. It’s nice to walk in to a salon and be greeted by everyone. I definitely recommend Aline and Varekai!

I followed my hair stylist to this new location because I don’t really trust anyone else doing my hair. Scarlet does an amazing job with cut and color so I wasn’t about to trust anyone else with my hair.
I recently went to Scarlet to chop off my hair and touch up my ombré. Needless to say, she did an AH-​MAY-​ZING job. I love my short hair and color and it doesn’t hurt when everyone else compliments it too. :)
Bonus: The salon owner is super friendly and always has a smile on his face. He even offered to get me something from the store when he went on an errand.

I have been following Scarlet for years now. I see her at least two times/​month. She is AMAZING. A true hair wizard. She did my make-​up for a photo shoot I had and she’s even better at make-​up which I didn’t think it was possible. She does my color (Ombré), roots, cut, and blow outs. SCARLET is a hair magician!
I came here to touch up my grown out ombré. I still wanted an ombré but I wanted something noticeably different and lighter. I showed Scarlet some photos of very contrasted ombrés, but she recommended I go lighter and more natural ombré balayage. So I went with her advice.
The first time she gave me my hair make over, I liked it. The brownish blondes turned out real nice. I definitely liked it but, about a week later, I felt like it wasn’t much of a difference from my initial grown out look. Regardless, I was still happy with my hair. Next thing you know, I got a follow up text from Scarlet, asking for an update on how much I liked my hair. I told her exactly what I stated above, and she instantly insisted I come back in. So the following day, she uplifted my ombré shades of blondes, painted my hair with more contrasted balayage techniques that gave my hair more depths of color, and VIOLA! I am completely in love with my blonde ombré!! I basically let her do her thing and she surprised me with a masterpiece.
Scarlet is the epitome of good customer service. How often do you get a hair stylist that actually checks up on you to see how content you are with your hair? Not only that, Scarlet actually cares about the condition of your hair as she openly advices you on products/​ingredients to seek and avoid. She also served me tea and sweets while my hair was being processed. I thought that was totally cute of her and the salon to offer. The salon owner actually baked home made goodies for their clients — now that’s love.
It’s also a plus that Scarlet is such a cute and fashionable hair stylist. She also does make up along with hair. I’ve definitely found my new go-​to hair stylist! Yay!

I decided to give Verekai a try because it’s within walking distance from where I live. I made a haircut appointment with Carlos and was overall very happy with my first experience! Carlos is very personable and you can tell he loves what he does. The salon itself is very clean and inviting and my haircut was great! Check this place out.

I was looking for a new stylist when I found Varekai Salon net door to our drycleaner, Ocean Park, on MacArthur Blvd and Bristol in Santa Ana. I made an appointment for a haircut with Aline Hernandez and crossed my fingers that it would be a positive experience. When my long-​time stylist moved out of the country, I tried several stylists but each resulted in bad haircuts and p/​or coloring, mainly because they didn’t do what I asked for didn’t know how to cut fine hair. I’m so happy to report that this was not the case with Aline. She was very nice and professional and took time to talk to me about my hair, hair concerns, and the best way to cut and style fine hair. I have been to Aline twice now and so happy I found her.
