Artamo Gallery is a modern, progressive art gallery in the historic arts district of downtown Santa Barbara, just a few steps from the Museum of Art, that features original contemporary works — dynamic pieces, powerful and thought provoking — by acclaimed mid-​career national and international artists, mainly paintings but also hand-​drawn prints, sculpture, photography, and collage.

History

Established in 2005.

Artamo Gallery was founded and opened in Santa Barbara by artist and designer Jack N. Mohr in January of 2005. The idea was to fill the gap of art being offered here — quality original contemporary, mainly abstract works were missing in the otherwise wide spectrum of art available. With buyers and collectors world-​wide and 10 years in the same location now, Artamo Gallery earned its reputation to be (though small) one of the best contemporary galleries between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Jack M.

Business Owner

Born, grew up and educated in Berlin, Germany. Studies of visual communication included drawing, painting, film, photography, typography, graphic and exhibition design and more, Masters degree in graphic-​design. Own design-​studio in Berlin for 25 years. Moved to California in 1997. Many solo and group art exhibitions in Germany as well as in the U.S. Member of design, art, and art dealer organizations. Curator and judge for art shows. Founder of Artamo Gallery and owner for over 10 years.
