Dear Diary

All I can say is this chain of stores are the worst ever as far as customer service, store safety and neglect. They put a hazard in the store and as a result I fell and was injured.
They give customers the run around, keep changing their policy from moment to moment and day to day. Very shady organization and over the top rude.
On principle only — I will never shop any of their stores again and am recommending others do the same.
My money will go to honest & honorable shop keepers.

Absolutely loved this store. Was visiting santa Barbara and the store drew my attention, walked in to a place filled with very trendy and cute clothing with reasonable prices. Just so bummed that they dont have a location near LA. Anytime im close by im definately returning to shop from here.

I went in and I felt so welcomed. They offered help and were so sweet. One week later, I asked if I was able to exchange my shirt and the cashier was kind enough to allow the transaction without a receipt. Three days later I went in to return my second purchase and the associate said no, no, no. I explained I had done it before without a receipt and it was recent. However, the cashier was rude and didn’t seem to care. She didn’t bother looking at the condition of the dress ($ 50, unworn & with the tag). I won’t be spending my money there anymore. I wouldn’t encourage anyone who is unsure about their purchases –because of their return policy.

Zero stars. Bought shirt w cash 3 days ago and hand washed it this morning per instructions and it shrunk to something that won’t even fit over my head! Now they won’t give me money back. Only a replacement but why would I want to have the same defective shirt or anything else in this store that will probably do the same thing?

i love this store! i’m from san francisco, and i love little beach town boutiques for original cute clothes, and this was my favorite place in town!

We visited the store for the first time over spring break while we were camping in Carp and needed to go prom dress shopping. We found this white dress and bralet and bought them just in case (I was concerned it might not be dressy enough even though the prom was near the beach). But when we tried them on and put the hair, make-​up and accessories with them we knew that we had made the right choice. She looked great and everyone remarked on her beautiful dress!

Attempting to have a nice shopping day with my daughter when we decided to check-​out Dear Diary. I hope the management reads these Unilocal reviews because your employees are awful! Neither of the girls wanted to do their job and it seemed like we were putting them out just being in the store. Never again!

I have never been here before! Really Love here :^) but the most disappoint point was I cant reached there in everyday :/ (live in glendale) I hope this store has an online website, so I can order more and more ! some of them were really unique and nice!

I grabbed a great romper that I’m now in love with here over the weekend. Unfortunately I have a sister who also loved my find so now I’m plotting how to go back.
This is a great store with a huge selection of unique finds. I really can’t wait to go back.

This is the kind of store my daughter likes, so in we walked. She tried on a bunch of clothes (way to skimpy for me to wear), but I think they were even too skimpy for HER, and she can wear them well. No hope for me then. Still and all, I liked the layout of the store, and I loved Becky K’s shrewd observation that these clothes are much like Brandy Melville… touché’ Becky K. Right on !!

I bought an affordable pair of light pink flats for work.
I did want to note that their thigh-​high boots displayed under a table were super dusty and turned me off from purchasing.
It took some time to get someone to come ring me up at the register.

I really want to like this place. The store carries a good motley of clothes which takes inspiration from the good side of Brandy Melville’s coined style of loose, flowing and flattering clothes, while taking away some of the too juvenile aspects of Brandy’s take.
That being said, to remark on the service, I’ve had better service, but the attendants were always friendly and helpful when I visited the store and more or less seem to be doing their job. But I can tell that management is not keeping them on their toes. The dressing room has a print-​out sign asking customers to wait for attendants to help them to the appropriate rooms, but more often than not, the attendants will not notice when customers are lined up. There doesn’t seem to be any other system than to hunt down attendants should this happen, but it’s much easier to help yourself because the doors are open anyway, which makes me wonder about the necessity of the sign. It appears to be as if the protocol would be for the attendants to help customers in, but this protocol is not being kept.
I might be generalizing, but I also feel that customers are not feeling that they need to be held accountable for damaging the merchandise when trying them on, because nobody sees who goes into which dressing room. There is certainly less of an inclination to be careful with the clothes, which is made evident by the spanking new merchandise, even the ones displayed front and center, bearing tears and cosmetic stains. I even found a nice lace top smeared all over the front with a terrible foundation stain marked at a sale price for $ 30. I don’t know of any business that practices sales in this manner. I’ve seen low-​end consignment shops that take better care of their merchandise, and quite frankly I feel that customers shouldn’t have to pay new merchandise prices for clothes that are obviously in conditions that are even past «used» conditions. Also, the customers should not have to work this hard to make sure that they are getting new clothes that are fully intact in a nice little boutique such as this one.
All in all, the buyer for this shop has excellent taste and the store has so much potential. However, the execution is currently sub-​par. I strongly encourage management to intercede and turn this shop into what it’s supposed to be. Despite my love for the merchandise, I will not be returning to this shop simply because there are other shops that offer similar products for a lot less trouble.

I found a lovely pink tank top for sleeping that was oh so soft. The fact that it was on the sale rack helped me with my decision making! 50% off of $ 18.99 made me one happy person, and my mom liked the store so much she said that she would like to browse the store again the next time we visit Santa Barbara!

Dear Diary,
So there’s this boy that I think is really cute. He’s a nice Jewish boy from Toronto; he’s super gorgeous and is in a band called Rush where he sings and plays bass. And when I found out he was going to be in Los Angeles I bought tickets to go see him and I needed a dress! *draws hearts*
I got so excited about being with one of my crushes I knew that I’d have to buy a new dress so that I could look cute for so that’s when I went to Dear Diary on State St. and found an awesome dress! The only issue is, a few days later I found one even more gorgeous that made me look like a Greek Goddess so I bought it and took the dress from Dear Diary back to the store for a store credit since they do not give refunds.
Well Diary, guess what? I’ve gotten a little chubbier this past year and none of my little black dresses fit me so I didn’t have anything to wear for Halloween! *pouts*
So that’s when I decided that I’d go to Dear Diary to use my store credit to buy a new dress. I put on my yoga pants, a t-​shirt, and flip flops and walked down to State St. When I first walked in the store I passed by three sales associates, and none of them said hi to me or asked if they could help me find anything, just like the last time I went in! Oh well. I walked around the store and grabbed some pieces that I thought might work and went back to the dressing room. Now, I know I’m a little chunkier but I can still fit into their clothes! The girl who took my items and opened the dressing room for me looked me up and down, furrowed her brows at the sight of my hammy thighs (which I am sure are horrifying to any 20-​year-​old), rolled her gold glitter encrusted eyelids at me and said…
«I hope all of these pieces work out for you.» In a very sarcastic and insincere tone.
Rude!
Just wait until she’s 30 and can’t just go run off a meal from McDonald’s with a 30-​minute session at the gym!
Anyway, some of the items I tried on were very flimsy or already had tears in them. I guess you get what you pay for but I still think better items can be found at comparable shops like Forever 21, ANGL, Lovebird, or The Area. Also the service at those stores is wayyy better! Like, where do they find these girls? They are SALES associates. Shouldn’t they at least act like they are trying to do their jobs? OMG! When I went up to the front to have the store hold some pieces I stared at the back of another sales associate for like two minutes before she even acknowledged I was there. I know she saw me walk up to the counter. Ugh,
Anyway Diary, I did notice that the store had like three pieces that had been made in the U.S.A., which you know is very important to me. I think sometime later on this week I will go in and buy one of those just to use my credit up and then I will never set foot in that rude store again!

This store kinda reminds me of forever21 but with less stuff and definitely more organized. They have a good mix of trendy and basics. The quality doesn’t seem that great but given the prices it’s okay. These are things you won’t wear for forever but are great to add to your wardrobe to complete outfits. The location is great in the downtown area where there are a TON of shops and restaurants. Definitely a great area to spend the afternoon shopping.

Really loved all the clothes here. Lots of cute prints and at reasonable prices.

They are horrible! They charged my card twice and won’t return my money! They some how manage to charge the same amount on two different days so my bank is having a hard time believing me!

Great place to shop with lots of options. You can find a whole outfit here plus accessories. The clothes are great and affordable. The place is huge and the staff is very friendly and they have good sales.

I love the clothes here! They’re decently priced. The employee at the fitting room was super nice and made me feel totally at ease even when I dropped a shirt. I didn’t like how small the fitting room was… It was really tiny! I couldn’t tell that two of the employees worked there though… I was looking around trying to find someone to get a shirt for me because it was hung high up… but no one asked me if I needed help.
Anyway the employees were all pretty nice nonetheless and the clothes are so cute! The fitting room was not a good experience though. I would shop here again :)

Dear Diary,
You truly offer the cutest clothes ever!!! It was overwhelming when I first walked in! There are seriously so many options of clothing attire to choose from! I didn’t know which side to start on, but worked from the right side to the left. I really like the variety of patterns and solid shirts they had. Super girly, store. What sucked about this store is that a lot of the stuff I wanted, only had sizes Medium and Larges left when I needed a Small!
