I’ve been seeing Dr. Fausset since 1992, when I was living in Santa Barbara, and I have continued to use him as my optometrist since then, although I have lived in the SF Bay Area, since 1993. Tom is an excellent diagnostician, and most recently diagnosed my blurry left eye with a cataract that was developing in the middle of my left eye, instead of on the edges, as is usually the case. Several months ago, my Palo Alto Medical Foundation ophthalmologist told me that my left eye was «fine» and had no evidence of cataracts!
Dr. Faust altered my prescription in that eye so that my vision is at least 20/​40, until I can arrange for cataract surgery in the Bay Area. Plus Tom made sure that his optometric assistant could make new lenses for me that same day before I left for home. He is the best, plus we have a great doctor-​patient relationship as well…

Worst vision appointment I’ve ever had. No problems with the Lenscrafters employees, they were all great and very helpful. This review is purely for my exam with
I walked into my appointment with Dr Fausset wearing my old glasses, and was immediately scolded for having glasses that weren’t «cool». I was considering trying contacts, but he shot down that idea without giving me any good reasons.
When we began the actual eye exam began, he said something about me being young, so I didn’t need a full exam. I was in and out of his office in less than 10 minutes. It seemed like his computer did all the work and he just clicked a couple of buttons in the webapp on the screen. He then spent at least 10 minutes trying to find me «stylish» glasses out in the showroom.
Wouldn’t ever recommend going here for a vision appointment. I definitely didn’t feel like i was being examined by a doctor, and I’m not confident at all that I received a correct prescription.
If you want a glasses stylist, make an appointment. If you rely on glasses to help you see, and want a helpful, thorough doctor to examine your eyes, stay away.

Loved the doctor and staff! He took his time with me while casually completing the exam and even enjoyed small talk without being too intrusive or «trying too hard». He explained to me everything that he was doing and informed me of things that no other eye do to has before!
He personally helped me pick some frames for my face, and after trying on every single pair (almost not kidding…) he and his staff kept his patience and offered helpful advice.
Overall I had a great experience with Dr. F and staff, and will refer friend and family!

Had been using Dr. Fausett’s practice, Advanced Eye Care, for eye exams and optician services for several years with satisfactory results. The business has moved from the Mesa to State St. My most recent experience, however, was a different story. My new lenses were re– made twice with Dr Fausett acknowledging his error both times. The third pair was still not right when, having lost confidence in his expertise, I requested a refund to go elsewhere.
