Sue Firestone joined the interior design industry in 1976 with Los-​Angeles-​based design firm, Design 1. In just four years with Design 1, Sue rose from designer to president and led the firm to become the sixth largest in the United States with offices in Hong Kong and Paris. In 1996 Sue turned her focus toward creating a boutique-​style firm that would employ a cherry-​picked team of diverse designers to originate her «couture concept» for interior design. The result was sfa design, a Santa Barbara-​based global design firm with additional offices in Los Angeles and New York and a staff of over 30 of the industry’s top professionals.

Sue Firestone has spent the past 30 years cultivating her personal passion for design, operating leading international interior design firm, sfa design. With a client list that features the world’s premier five-​star hotels as well as an A-​List residential clientele of Fortune 500 business executives, international diplomats, professional athletes and celebrities; Sue has become the go-​to designer and tastemaker for those seeking the ultimate luxury lifestyle. Setting her apart from others in her field, Sue’s «couture concept» for interiors defies the industry standard of a signature style, allowing her to use her clients as inspiration, creating homes and hotels that are a direct reflection of the person, place or brand for whom she designs.
