Specialties

Students are introduced to their instruments in a fun and understandable way. Technique, music theory, and reading are taught through song form, which creates a strong foundation and love for music. Fun fun fun, while getting the job done.

History

Established in 2010.

Knowing how important music education is and that Goleta did not have a Music School, Mr. Stockmal decided to go ahead and open a music school to cater to those parents who do not want to travel to Santa Barbara any more just to find a suitable music school for their children.

I had a horrible experience with Steve. He behaved so inappropriately toward my 8 year old son that I could never recommend him. He can be silly and fun but he can also cross the line in a major way to more abusive behavior. In addition to walking around with a mouth full of food, he put a post it note on my son’s forehead and them stormed out of the room when my son wasn’t concentrating enough (um, really hard to concentrate with a post it note on your head — duh!). When Steve came back, he gave my son the death stare and basically yelled at him — I actually had to stand up and stop him. My 8 year old had no idea why Steve was so mad and his behavior was upsetting and unacceptable.

Steve goes beyond expectations and I’m very grateful to have been his student. I’ve been with multiple music teachers and none of them ever really seemed as enthusiastic as Steve is. Everyone always leaves with a smile on their face. Truly a great teacher.
