At Your Best Self Stylist my mission is to help each of my clients define and establish their own Signature Style. Regardless of your current Fashion State, I will help you edit, build, and maximize your wardrobe and Personal Style!

I always work with what you already own, define the Key items you’re missing, and then Remix the old with the new for a more Modern and Up to Date look! The result– new Confidence!

My ten years of experience in the Fashion Industry, coupled with my BA in Psychology both foster a fun, inspiring, uplifting, and transformational environment for all your fashion, style, and shopping needs.

History

Established in 2013.

Your Best Self Stylist, is owned and created by Jennie Stierwalt– a licensed Image Consultant, and Wardrobe Consultant. She is passionate about helping you discover your best self! It was her later experience as a stylist, merchandiser, and visual manager for high end boutiques that solidified her talents in the visual arts.

With her BA in Psychology, and ten years experience in the fashion industry including styling for Wilhelmina Models in New York, Jennie found a new direction as she grew in her love for helping women on a more personal (less corporate) level.

Her creative spirit, trained eye, and positive attitude enable her to meet a wide variety of styling needs. She is a pro at assessing her clients best silhouettes, colors, and styles then from there creating a styling action plan.

Her goal is to always help her clients find their Signature Style and bring out their Unique Beauty. She will help you transform your wardrobe and help you discover Your Best Self!

Business Owner

Jennie grew up in the Bay Area and then moved to San Luis Obispo in search of her passion. There, she decided she wanted to study Psychology at Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles, CA.

She met her husband, Eric Reiter while living in SLO and working as the Buyer and Merchandiser for Ambiance, a women’s clothing boutique. She then finished her degree from Azusa Pacific University, moved to New York with her then boyfriend, Eric, and became the Visual Manager for Free People.

After two years with Free People in NY, she returned to Eric’s hometown, Santa Barbara, CA, where she became the Merchandiser for Wedny Foster’s two boutiques in the Upper Village of Montecito. While working there, Jennie decided to start her own Personal Styling and Shopping company, Your Best Self Stylist. She’s been open for business in Santa Barbara now for 1.5 years!

She has also been featured in two local magazines, Santa Barbara Magazine, and Santa Barbara Life & Style.

First off I want to thank Jennie for being simply amazing! I don’t believe I have ever had so much fun shopping!
I am young woman in my mid-​late twenties, who is more than comfortable in jeans and tees. Upon setting up our first «official meet» Jennie came over for a complete home invasion. I say home invasion because she drove from SB to SLO to attack my closet. We went through, got rid of old worn out clothes, and were able to make new cute outfits with my existing things.
The next day we hit the shops! She created a list of items I needed in my closet to fulfill the looks she & I felt would best fit my figure & lifestyle! (I’m not a stick figure) Upon meeting with Jennie she had a stack of clothes ready for me to try on! No joke, it’s amazing how many different things she can find you!!! We try everything and narrow our selection to the most important things!
At the end of the day she gives you a list of things that you can tackle on your own, places to shop online, store, and what brands work best for your body (based off your purchases).
Since the first time I met Jennie, I have had a couple more shopping experiences with her and I love every minute of it! She is Budget friendly, an amazing stylist, and generally a good person. My confidence has skyrocketed and I constantly get compliments on the way I dress. Jennie knows my taste and my body so well that I am confident in letting her work her magic on me! I have tried new things and I LOVE it! I cannot wait to see what else she can find me!

I’ve used Jennie’s services for over a year now. She has styled me for my high school reunion, two public speaking events, a Western-​themed party, and done an overall «Sort, Shop, Style» for me. As a mother of three young children, a working professional, and someone who didn’t know much about style before meeting Jennie, her services have been irreplaceable for me.
Jennie is knowledgeable about her craft in ways that are extremely impressive. I often have very little time to shop, and when I’ve showed up to our meetings, she has a precise rack of clothing for me to try on to meet my need. Without fail, she nails it. Yesterday, for example, the outfit I needed and purchased, was the first thing she had me try on. She knows my body style, my colors, and my preferences, and she knows how to suggest things that I’m not thinking of, but that take my look to another level.
The proof in the pudding: At two different events I’ve gone to, three people I don’t know randomly commented to me that I was the «best dressed person there.»
Unbelievable. And, so, so worth it.

It was always on my «bucket list» to treat myself by working with a personal stylist, and I am so glad I found Jennie! She is really on it, she helped me arrange outfits for a 3 day vacation and challenged my preconceptions about what looks good on me, I was stubborn at first but pleasantly surprised as to what suits me. These combinations are now some of my favorite things in my wardrobe! I get compliments constantly on the pieces she helped me choose. Considering there was a time constraint I was especially impressed that she was able to source everything in time, in fact one of my favorite outfits was one that she chose blind (without seeing it on me) but she just knew at that point what would work. Amazed! Highly recommend! I will definitely be using her again to put together some fall looks :)

As a Valentine’s Day present, my boyfriend purchased me Jennie’s «Sort-​Shop-​Style» package. I’m 27 years old, and I haven’t made any sort of effort with my clothes for a long time. I get frustrated and overwhelmed when I go shopping, so my bf thought a personal stylist might be just the ticket. And Jennie certainly was!
First off, she drives to you, which is super convenient. We went through my minimal closet and decided what should be on my shopping list. The next appointment, we went shopping, and the last appointment, she created dozens of different outfits I could wear with confidence.
We had a great time together. She’s a fun person to be around, and she really knows her stuff. She is also a shopping machine, which made the whole experience a lot easier for me. (Normally, I just wander around stores in circles.) She even showed me how to do my hair and makeup. She’s open to listening to what YOU want out of your appointments, which is awesome.
I was also really surprised that she was able to work within my limited budget. I thought personal stylists were only for the rich and famous, but I spent a few hundred dollars and got a completely new wardrobe. We went everywhere from trendy boutiques to Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Macys, and Goodwill. Don’t worry: you won’t have to buy designer clothes!
Jennie taught me what looks good on me, and best of all, she gave me the confidence to dress with more style. If you feel overwhelmed by the thought of updating your look or putting together an outfit, give her a call. Some time spent with Jennie will result in a whole new you!

It is clear when working with Jennie she is passionate about her work. She went through my closet and helped identify items that did not compliment my body or were out of style. Then we worked on remixing my wardrobe all the time making me feel comfortable in the process. I was amazed at all the new outfits I had using items I already had– it just took an expert with a fresh eye to put it together. Jennie will even shop for key pieces to add to your wardrobe if you want, consign your unwanted clothing for you and even help organize your closet so it is more user friendly. She is fantastic and I would definitely recommend her.
