Talk about a great staff. They helped me get everything I wanted and then showed me one of the best cat toys. My cat loved it, a catnip filled banana. Not something I would have bought because Sheba likes little things, and this one is big… but they were right, cat just loved it. They were very helpful so I will be back again and again and again…

Excellent prices on dog food and treats. They carry a good selection of Jone’s Natural Chews (great company). The store is well-​organized and the employees are very knowledgeable. Check them out if you’re looking for some fun new treats/​chews to spoil your pup!

Do you realize an employee of yours advertised to pet sit and completely neglected the animals in her care?!? I’d suggest you look closely at Ariel, and decide if you want your business attached to her name. It just happened; small claims court coming.

The store located on Pruneridge Avenue, Santa Clara refused to honor a «rain check» coupon. An Jan offered a coupon for a 5 lb of California Natural dog feed. When I attempted to redeem this coupon, the store ran out and stated they would honor the «rain check» when resupplies arrived. Now the store said NO. Totally unfair!

Surprisingly good prices for such a small shop. Great selection of treats, foods, toys, beds and more for cats and dogs. Really like the self service bath stations in the back, use them all the time! Staff is very friendly and always very nice to my pup. Check out the shot clinic on Sunday after noons. Way more affordable than going to the vet. $ 18 for rabies!!!

Love AnJans! I have been to several of their locations over the years and have always been greeted by friendly staff. I love supporting local business that truly care about their customers and can give you a sense of pride about your community. Sadly, I moved out of the area last year but whenever I’m in town I stop by to buy those big rope toys. I have a big dog and he goes completely nuts over those rope toys and I can only find these things at AnJans. Great place!!!
And I just read that 1 star review from that person who is mad cuz his/​her OWN dog damaged some property and was insulted that he/​she was asked to pay for it!!! Come on… Seriously? Using this crazy person’s rationale if I bring my 3 year old into a store and he breaks something and I quickly reprimand him then I am not responsible for the damages he caused? That’s some messed up logic. But whatever. To each their own I guess. I am just thankful that AnJan’s staff was attentive enough to notice it and is reputable enough to not just wipe it off and resell it to another less crazy customer.

Always a friendly helpful staff… always has my organic chicken laying mash on hand, and even carries it out to the car for me… love this store!

Great store with food my cats love for the first time in Six months. They have cool kitty toys that are cheaper than Bow Wow Mew. Great staff and can’t wait to go back again!

It’s a basic fact that dogs urinate in spaces to mark its territory. Although my dog is completely house trained and doesn’t pee inside our home, today he peed inside the store. I reprimanded my dog to stop & yanked his leash but we all know that when dogs leave their mark — it’s only a small stream of urine and done even before you get a chance to yell Uncle. Imagine my surprise, when I was in the cashier station to pay for my dog’s bath that I was told that I would have to pay for two bags of dog food that my dog peed on!!! Seriously? I told them NO — I won’t pay for the dog food. They continued to tell me that I did not stop my dog when he peed — which is a blatant lie and since I’m not willing to pay for the two bags of dog food that my dog peed on then my dog is banned from coming back to their store!
Well, if a pet store is this insensitive and uneducated in basic animal behavior, I am more than happy to take my business elsewhere.
Anjan, don’t forget that your business is working closely with animals and sometimes it can get messy.

I love An-Jan’s! I use to frequent the big one on Monterey Road when I was a kid for my guinea pigs. Now that this one has opened, I stop by to buy treats for my Husky. He loves the soft Zuke’s treats. An Jan’s is slightly cheaper than Pet Food Express in treats and dog baths. I’m sure other items as well.
The young guy that works weekends is really nice and helpful. They have a loyalty card which means more savings. They also have raffles which is fun.
Overall a great place to come for all your pets needs. Why not support a local business in the process

Although I really miss having a local hardware store, An Jan opening a location here on Pruneridge was about the next best thing. We shop there for all of our pet food now. It’s convenient and the staff is helpful and friendly. They have a great selection of high-​quality grain-​free foods. Although the prices are higher than at other stores, their incentive program probably turns that into a wash. I would prefer to just pay lower prices in the first place, but it is how it is.
Only downside (and the main reason for 4 stars not 5) is that no one ever offers to carry it to the car, which due to the nature of the lot there can be kind of far. So I’ve taken to only buying one bag of food at a time, which is not ideal.

Great customer service: attends to every question a customer might have regarding how to choose among all their product offerings.
High quality pet supplies, including food, leashes, toys, crates, and pet beds.
Has a rewards program where you can accumulate points from your purchases. I think they said after you spend $ 200, you can start using points.
Also, every Sunday there is a vaccination service that comes to the location. You can also get your pet microchipped for $ 10!
Only con is that the store is smaller and has less locations than larger businesses like Petco, but I would much prefer AnJan for their care and quality products.

As pet stores go, this is pretty near perfect. Good selection without a warehouse overwhelming scale. Very good, friendly service. Reasonable prices. We are regulars.

I’m a big fan of local businesses so I’m happy to shop at this An-​Jan location that is very close to my home instead of driving to a PetSmart. The prices are competitive and I am able to find some unique products, and they generally seem to be healthier and better for my dogs. I have been dog sitting for a few weeks now and took advantage of this An-​Jan location’s pet washing station. Definitely helpful and necessary as this dog is not a fan of baths. The worst part for him was the commercial powered blow dryers, which are quite loud.
My only complaint about this location is that it doesn’t stock the food we usually buy for our dog, which requires us to go down to the Cupertino location once every couple of months.

Great new store. Prices are way below what you would pay at national chain stores and even other mom and pop stores. The staff cares about what they do and know a lot about all pets. Best yet, if they don’t know they won’t BS you. They’ll ask another employee for advice. First rate!

We love An-​jan and come here for all our pet supplies. This place has excellent prices (item for item they are cheaper than the big box stores) and they carry high quality products. Also, their employees are engaged and knowledgeable. We used to drive to Milpitas and we’re stoked this one is open!

Love that I have this place nearby… the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the best thing is: they will never recommend anything they would not use with their own pets at home. =D
I came here with the goal of finding a new pet food for my Westie since he’s prone to skin allergies and itchiness. The guy working at the counter told me he feeds his dogs kangaroo meat from California Naturals, and we decided to take home a bag to try. My dog does not wake up in the middle of the night to chew/​gnaw on his paws anymore, and I know this because he sleeps in our room. (It drives me nuts when I have to wake up in the middle of the night to him licking away at his paws all red and raw…)
There was a recent recall from the California Naturals brand and we asked about it when it was time to refill on his monthly supply. Luckily, he was also aware of the situation and told us the lot numbers his location received were not affected. We confirmed the information on line for piece of mind and we are glad to know that they are proactive on issues such as this.
It’s jam packed, and don’t expect a lot of glamorous marketing ads, but for a more personalized neighborhood pet supply shop, I definitely recommend this as an alternative to your chain stores.

So happy that this location is now open! I frequent the Milpitas store and have always found their staff helpful and friendly.
This location is smaller — but I’m so happy that they have a self-​service dog washing area (which I have yet to try). They offer the same great service as they do in Milpitas and if you don’t find what you want in that particular location they will call their other store to locate the item that you’re looking for.
They also have VIP Veterinary services on the weekends. Great deals on getting your pet up to date on their vaccinations.

This place just opened and we are really happy to have it here. We have parrots and a big ol’ standard poodle puppy, so we’ll make good use of it.
Our first time in, I found that they have bulk bird food and I was delighted.
We took our poodle there after beach trip (later on a Sunday afternoon) because she was covered in sand.
They have a great dog wash setup in the back. We had a blast giving her a bath and then using this phenomenal dog dryer. While we will never be accused of being dog groomers of any worth, it’s great to have a place that we can go if we absolutely have to get her clean.

Love this newest location! Ron and Matt are great– and a self-​serve dog wash for only $ 10! But the store is on Pruneridge, not Winchester, btw. They only carry healthy foods and also have a LOT of products made in the US, even chicken strips.
