If you’re fretting about the closure of Casita Linda, they’ve taken over Ed’s DIner and renamed it Nemos. THey have both the diner fare and Mexican food there now

Another fine restaurant bites the dust. I drove by today and Casita Linda is now a «chaat» restaurant, which I guess inches us one step closer to an Indian restaurant on the corner of every street in every city of Silicon Valley. This is truly sad… Remo, the owner, was a great guy, and Mathilda, the head cook, was a real sweetheart. This was AUTHENTIC, rustic Mexican food. Best wishes to all involved with Casita Linda in their new endeavors.

The service was good. Staff was very friendly. Food was OK. It’s close to my house so we would return for this reason but not our favorite taqueria.

Had Groupon and was all excited to find an authentic Mexican restaurant. Planned lunch with my family and we were shocked to see it had CLOSED. There was another name in their«COMINGSOON».

Bought a groupon for the retaurant. Drove there to find out that they are no longer in business. Whats up with that! When i called the number on the groupon, they informed me they had moved down the street. Pulled up to the restaurant. It was empty as a ghost town! Asked the girl at the counter if they accepted the groupon. She said probbaly not because they are not serving mexican food and doesnt know when they will start. I really dont understand why you put your business on Groupon knowing that you are shuting down from no business. Tha is justba really STUPID move.

Had a groupon, but we will be back. Both were super pleased with our meals. full of flavor, fresh, not greasy. Customer service was great. Limited menu. Clean restaurant. In funky part of town.

Fish Tacos to die for. Will come back again and again for it. Don’t let the deserted exterior stop you from trying the best fish tacos in the bay area. 2 fish tacos will fill your stomach but not your desire. Rest of the stuff is average.

The food here seemed like very authentic Mexican food. They brought out chips and salsa, but the chips were not that great. My wife and I both got the Super Burrito which is $ 6.75 and horchata. It was very large indeed. I probably would have liked the sour cream and guacamole on the outside in order to be able to distribute it more evenly. It was a decent meal, but not a place I will go out of my way to return to. the al a carte items are all under $ 10, but the meal items are all about $ 12 – 13. We went on Cinco de Mayo and were the only ones there when we arrived. By the time we left there were two other small groups. Not sure how much longer they will be around.

The food was very authentic and fresh. I tried their vegetable burrito and the fish taco. Both the dishes were very good. I will definitely go back to try other dishes. The service was friendly and we did get the food reasonably fast.

Got a Groupon and tried this place today — –very dissatisfied. Not at all what I had hoped for, me and my aunt were the only patrons. The restaurant is very uninviting, absolutely no décor whatsoever, and the lighting is terrible — that gets NO stars. The gentlemen that served us seemed very kind, however I am giving this place a low rating mostly due to the food. We got served stale chips w/a horrible green salsa. For drinks we got horchata, which lacked taste. Our order of «gorditas» was just«ok», we barely ate half. I would not recommend this place to anyone, sorry.

Went to lunch here the other day with a coworker. There was only one other person in the restaurant but that shouldn’t deter you from trying this place out. I ordered the chicken quesadillas and they were really good. I will definitely go back and try out what else this place has to offer.

Came in at around 6pm on a Wednesday and this place was empty. Not a good sign. I have a feeling this location may be cursed since every restaurant seem go out of business in less than a year. Against by instinct, I decided to give it a try anyways since I was starving. I had: 1) 2 Tacos. a) Lingua b) Al Pastor. The sauce and meat was very bland and was a bit skimpy for $ 1.75. I’ve had a lot better at the taco truck near first street. 2) Huaraches w/Carnitas. $ 9.50. The server(probably owner) recommended me this this but unfortunately, the Carnitas was very dry and flavorless. It seems like they had to reheat the meat and toss it over the tortilla and veggies. I personally think this dish is overpriced for what you are getting. For the food quality and price, this place is simply ONE star. However, since this is a mom and pop shop and the owner was very friendly, I’ll give it a two. I really hope they improve the food quality soon else they will be out of business. Adiós.

This place is legit. Very authentic. I had the flautas and they were just like mom would make. Also tried the bistec ranchero and it is also great. The meat is tender, beans and rice have good flavor, salsas are very good, and the tortillas are home made and delicious.

Food is truly authentic. It takes awhile, but everything is made when you order it. Really amazing sopes and gorditas. They have $ 1.00 tacos, but each is really really small.

Been looking for a decent Mexican restaurant in the Santa Clara area for a long time. I finally found it! Family owned, friendly, great food, efficient service… What’s not to like? I had the taco+enchilada combo. Went with Al Pastor for the taco and beef enchilada. No complaints. I will definitely be back.

Was looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant near work and finally found one. Had lunch there the other day and ended up getting the super burrito with carne asada topped with chipotle sauce. Burrito was just as big in size as it was in flavor and the chipotle sauce gave it that extra kick. New owner is very friendly and as quoted from him, «Believes in giving customers quality and value for what they pay for». I’ll definitely be going back to try other menu items. Not sure what the old place looked like but the newly redone interior is pleasant and looks clean. I’m always an advocate of supporting independently run businesses and this one deserves a look.

Great little taqueria. I guess it is pretty new. We used to live down in LA and miss out neighborhood taqueria. I had the carnitas and al pastor taco. It was Sunday afternoon so it was slow. Very friendly and clean.

We had noticed this place opening up about 2 months ago but had yet to have a chance to swing by and check it out. Today we stopped by and were very kindly greeted by the owner who gave us ample time to look at their menu and ask him questions before making our to-go order. The place has been given a face-lift and looks much better than it used to. The new paint color and seating arrangements make it look much better. The important thing — the food — was much better than expected. Going by the reviews we saw I was pretty sure I wanted to try the gorditas, here’s what we ended up ordering after also chatting with their cook for a short while: — Huaraches with carne asada — Chicken gordita — Chicken mole As mentioned previously the carne asada is quite tasty. The gordita was so nice and freshly made, I will definitely have another one when we return. My boyfriend really liked the mole but I found it to be just ok, good just nothing impressive. The prices are a little higher than the previous joint but the quality is also much higher. It is worth the short wait since everything is cooked to order. Now if they only had margaritas :). We will definitely be back to continue sampling their menu and monitor their progress since previous establishments in that location seem to have problems gaining a following.

Finally! A great Mexican joint near Rivermark! This place has changed hands a few times now but the new owners cleaned up the interior so that it’s nice and clean with new seating and tables. On our first visit we tried the taco sampler so we could scope out each of the meats and pick the winners — lucky for you! So here’s the rundown: — Chorizo — If you are not watching your calorie intake this is amazing. It tastes so good it’s GOT to be bad for you! — Al Pastor — is just ok, stick with the chorizo and thank me later. — Bistek — is good but not great like the belly busting chorizo! — Carnitas — we have not tried yet, but most places make a good carnitas so I would say not really a barometer for a good Mexican place. Second time I got a taco plate, nice rice and beans. The hubby got Gorditas which takes a little bit of time but well worth the wait. Hand made and fresly fried tortilla, save some calories and tell them to hold the crema. Douse with one of their two salsas instead.

I noticed that Casita Linda had recently opened when Z-Girl, Jen-bot & I were checking out Logan’s Dawgs next door. Turns out the’ve been in business about a month now. Since we were on our way to see a movie we ordered a few burritos to go. They were actually closing for the night but were nice enough to stay open for us. During the 10 – 15 mins we were there, 3 other parties came in for food so there is definitely demand for a good mom-‘n-pop Mexican place within a short walk of Rivermark & surrounding neighborhoods. We ordered a carnitas super burrito, carne asada burrito & kid’s bean burrito. Chips & salsa are complimentary; however I didn’t see any salsa bar. The food itself was flavorful with a little spice to it & your choice of green or red sauce; the sizes were on par with what you would get at any local taqueria. A couple days later, we walked down to Casita Linda’s to try out their breakfast menu. We got the Huevos con Chorizo, the Bacon, Sausage & Eggs, a couple Dollar Tacos(carnitas & carne asada), & a bowl of Menudo. Rather than try to describe each dish, check out the pic section. Overall, the food was good & they even offered us some dessert of Jell-O mixed with sour cream which may sound odd but tasted great. The inside of Casita Linda is geared more for a sit-down meal compared to a taqueria but they do offer food to-go also. I didn’t get a chance to checkout the restroom & I’m not sure there was one. Overall, we left satisfied & full, so I look forward to sampling more of their menu in the near future.
