A restaurant should be two things — classy and fabulous. Chilis’s is neither. Food: Large portions! Especially for apps! Chips and gauc — The chips are thin cut. When I say thin, I mean tissue paper thin. This isn’t necessarily bad, just don’t be expecting that crrrrruuncchh. The salsa is just embarrassing. The guacamole isn’t half bad. Fries — Literally does the word«potatoes» come to mind. Fries=potatoes that are fried. Atmosphere: Terrible! Literally the bar area is so dark as is the rest of the restaurant. We were there during the Warriors game so it was so noisy, but there was also a very rude group of ladies at a table next to us who must have never been taught what an «inside voice» is. The place also feels kind of grimy. Service: The service at the bar was almost impossible to flag down. People were getting up and leaving, but we had to ask to clean the table. The service at the tables was better. At the bar, you paid for your meal via an electronic console on your table. Large dishes, mediocre food, subpar service, and really noisy patrons. The true definition of — why do I come here?(To be fair, it was not my happy hour/dinner choice LOL). So to answer my own rhetorical question — I like my friends. My friends like Chili’s.

Very bad service. Very unmotivated employees. The male server was literally angry for asking one extra silverware for my kid. Food is good though but will never go back to this place.

The food is here is pretty good! Wait can get pretty hectic depending on what days you dine there. The staff is efficient and my food always arrives to me nice and hot :) Prices are moderate, not too cheap;not too expensive either. Definitely good for a dinner night out or watching the game away from the house!

This place is pretty understaffed but it’s completely understandable. I came in for dinner on Sunday night with the bae and we ordered the spiced onion rings, Cajun chicken pasta, and a bacon ranch chicken quesadilla. I didn’t know they would give us free chips and guac/salsa! Had I known we wouldn’t have ordered an appetizer. By the time our entrees arrived, we were already full. Plus the free refills on our drinks filled us up too. Our entrees were pretty good, I just didn’t get to enjoy it as much because I got full too fast lol. Pretty cool place to get your money’s worth in food, just be a little patient when they’re understaffed ^u^

So my Mom and I had some time to kill on Saturday and we decided to go out to eat. Not planning to go anywhere in particular we took a little drive to Santa Clara and while we were there I remembered that there was a Chili’s on El Camino Real and so I suggested we go there. She agreed and so off we went. When we got there the place wasn’t very busy and we were promptly seated at a table facing the street, so we had a nice view. Almost immediately our server(Tony) came and we ordered drinks and a few minutes later we ordered the same thing(fajitas) and waited for our food. What we thought was going to be a 7-minute wait turned out to be 15 minutes so we were a little testy when we got our food, but it was well worth it. My plate(the combo steak/chicken fajitas) was just what the Doctor ordered… strips upon strips of perfectly seasoned and spiced Beef and Chicken served on top of Bell peppers and onions, warm handmade tortillas and there was fresh sour cream, guacamole, salsa, cheese and pico de gallo to accompany the meal. We both agreed the food was really good and we finished our meal in and ordered dessert. Dessert was a molten Chocolate cake with Vanilla ice cream(also really good) and we thoroughly enjoyed the food at this Chili’s, what we DIDNOT enjoy was the slow service and the intrusiveness of the waiter who came to check on us literally every 5 minutes. I guess that is his way of serving but we don’t like that so I am giving this Chili 4 stars, I a taking a star off a 5 star-rating for the lackluster service. Sorry to be such a stinker, but I am a tough critic! :) UPDATE5−21−165:32 P.M. PST — AFTERREADINGSOMEOFTHEOTHERREVIEWSABOUTTHISCHILI’S I GUESSEVERYBODYUNIVERSALLYAGREESTHESERVICESTINKSHERE!!! You are not at all welcomed here. I don’t really know the reason. Maybe unmotivated employees. Even with so many poor review, we decided to give this place a shot … so reached there at around 9 pm on Saturday for dinner with my friend’s and my family … all grown up. Place was only 25% full … or may be less … Stood at reception for 10 – 15 good minutes and nobody was ready to take us in … as many as 6 employee saw us and couple of them even said somebody will be with you shortly but no one was really ready to seat us … all of them were not at all busy. Later we heard that they were pushing each other to get us seated but no one seems to be ready. Finally we left and went to another place … well if no one is ready to seat us … how will they serve and what will they serve … god only knows :)

Honestly don’t even know why we come here besides the fact that it’s like a two minute drive from our house. The food has always been fine, so this review doesn’t really pertain to that. What I would really like to focus on is the service, which was probably the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. And I use the term ‘restaurant’ loosely because it’s like a chaotic mess. Waitress 1 took our order, disappeared and didn’t come back for almost the entirety of our meal. Waitress 2 comes out with our food and asks if we want refills. Awesome! As she’s doing that we realize that my boyfriend’s entire condiment«boat», as they call it, is not there for his fajitas. These boats have things such as guacamole, sour cream, cheese, salsas, etc. No big deal. When she returns with our drinks she asks if we need anything else, and he asks her for the boat. We sit there for probably 15 – 20 minutes, food getting cold and disgusting. He resorted to eating a fajita with just a few pieces of chicken, undercooked onions and peppers. Meanwhile I see Waitress 2 cleaning up tables. She obviously either forgot or saw the look on my face and didn’t want to return after she realized she forgot. I also see our original Waitress 1 standing right behind us(but behind a pillar), fooling around with the register with another waiter who was in our area. I know they’re not blind, I was staring at them and we were maybe 10 feet away. Eventually our original waitress 1 comes back and has this weak apology about having a big party and asks if we need something. Yes, literally half of his meal is missing, so he hasn’t actually gotten to eat his now cold ass food. She finally goes and gets it. Mmm cold fajitas! Not only was it cold, the peppers and onions undercooked, but there was MAYBE half of a chicken breast on that plate. Total rip off. Anyways, whatever that’s done, we eat and then try to pay. The machine at our table doesn’t seem to want to let us pay so were once again left waiting. Waitress 2 walks over and asks snottily, «Did you need something?» Um, yes. To pay, so that we can run and never return. She literally does nothing again, probably goes and gets Waitress 1 who comes over and asks us again if we need help. She gets our bill and apologizes again, which is good, apologies are good. But then she shifts the blame to the big party she was helping who were ‘obnoxious and drunk’… okay. Just tell us you’re sorry and you’re overwhelmed. We’ll get it. It’s just really awkward to complain to customers about other customers. It’s chili’s. People are drunk, people are obnoxious. How is this not normal? It’s also kind of ridiculous because Waitress 1 and a waiter in our area could be heard arguing by the register about who was supposed to have taken care of us. Apparently Waitress 1 told the waiter that he was supposed to take care of us while she was gone. That would’ve been nice. Generally if you walk by a table and they’re just sitting there not eating the food just placed in front of them, something is wrong. Why don’t you take two seconds to see what’s up? What a novel idea. Anyway, his story was that she had told him that Snotty Waitress 2 was going to take care of us, which was OUR impression. I could literally hear this from where we were sitting. Extremely awkward. Some more random crap: — Tables were being left piled with dirty dishes and food on the floor for large amounts of time, meanwhile people are waiting to be seated, and we have to eat next to that. — There’s a bald, older Asian waiter that’s usually on the other side of the restaurant(the right side when you walk in) who is very attentive. — The hosts always seem so confused. It’s not rocket science.

I would have given this place a 4 stars before but today I give it a 2. Why? Because they really messed up the part I always look forward to when going out to eat and that’s the dessert. A few months ago I had ordered the triple berry crumbled cake and I love it but tonight I got nothing. I had been patient with the fact that it took a bit to long to get our order, I had put aside that fact my top sirloin came well done when I had asked for medium well, and on top of that the food was cold yet the plate was burning hot. But what really ruin my night was my dessert. I’m border line diabetic and have to follow a diet, and the one night I can have something sweet I get this disaster, it wasn’t a triple berry it was a single berry uncooked cookie dough plate. All I was able to eat was the ice cream(my something sweet). I don’t think I’m ever ordering this again, what was sad was that the waitress either didn’t care or didn’t notice what she had brought. I’m very disappointed

I can never say that the food is top notch, or that the service is always the best… however, I can say that at this last visit Saturday 4/2, our service was exceptional. My 14 year old son is a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic, and after his baseball game we wanted to grab a burger. When we walked in and looked over the menu real quick we noticed that the nutritional info that we needed(carbs) was not listed. So while we were being walked to our table, the hostess found our waitress and asked about the info. They told us that all the info we needed can be found on the website and they can also print a copy for us. 2 minutes later the waitress came back with a full printed copy of their nutritional menu. I was impressed. My only issue was that the«meals» are shown without sides… so if you order a burger, you just get the carb count for a burger, and then you have to find your carb count for the«side» of fries. The thing is, I asked if the«side» of fries is the same amount as what he would get with his meal and the server said yes… same portions. When my sons meal came out, there were literally 10 fries on his plate. I find it hard to believe that someone who opts to purchase a side of fries a la carte, would pay that much for the«same» portion as the 10 fries my son got. So I do not think that the fries that come with the meal, are the same carb count as the«side» portion, which is the only info available on the menu. Besides the little bit of confusion between the«meal fries» and the«side fries»… I think Chili’s handled the situation pretty well.

Being a regular at Chilis we have had multiple servers. Nobody compares to Steven! Steven is extremely attentive and sincerely genuine. He has awesome service and always has a smile on his face whether it is slow or busy. The food of course is delicious which keeps us coming back but the service we receive from Steven is why we stay! Thank you Steven for your awesome service and genuine conversations!

I got a gift cert to Chillis. Ordered there onion rings, they gave me a small portion of frozen, processed rings. yuck! Ordered there chicken and carnitas fajitas. It was very greasy and I got a old shrimp in with it… good thing I am not allergic to sea food. The booth seats are all torn. Trash all over the floor. I child dumped a glass of water and they just left the water on the ground!!! Put a sign next to the spill… Really… Waitress wore torn pants and looked unkempt. I will never eat at Chillis again even for free!!! It was just plain gross. This place should shut down!

This is literally the worst Chilis ever… took our kids here on a Friday night… seated right away. the floor of our table was a disgusting mess of chips and food spilled everywhere. someone noticed and did proceed to clean it .not sure why they would even seat anyone in that mess to begin with … Took forever for a server to come take any order… and another long wait for the drinks… Just keeps getting worse… ordered some apps and kids meals… another ridiculously long wait. finally brought the kids meals but apparently a mess up in the kitchen so the apps weren’t ready… more waiting… just a joke… food was lousy .was hoping this place had improved from the last time we were here a year ago but, sadly, no such luck… as much as I love the presidente margarita, can’t deal with this location again.

4 stars is because of the amazing manager ANTHONY. I’ve come to this location quite a few times and rarely have run into trouble. This is a first. I tried to call in a to-go order. I went thru the automated system, someone answered and put me on hold… for ten minutes. When the lady finally answered I was already pulling up to Chili’s since my destination was across the street. I walked in and asked where to make an order and where the manager was. I decided to wait for the manager to come out before ordering. Anthony came out of the back in no time. I told him I was on hold for just about ten minutes before anyone picked up, that’s when I arrived. He asked a few questions about if I knew who answered, what time it was, simple questions. He asked what I wanted to order which was totally simple — guacamole, salsa, and chips. That’s it! He said give me 3 minutes. Anthony came back with my food ready to go in 2 ½ minutes. He apologized for the lack of communication and completely fixed my problem. He also gave me my order on the house. Anthony is a great manager, and for that I would not mind coming back to this location. I love this location. And I love it more for understanding and meeting expectation when a problem arises.

Our device was excellent but the size of the fajita dish is a bad joke and their president margarita had little to no alcohol in it. Also the place is not maintained well, my booth chair was falling apart with each movement and the floor was completely dirty. Service was good and friendly though.

Chili’s is your typical family restaurant with menu options that include American food and Tex Mex options. This past time I went with the family, we ordered chips and salsa(free refills on that). I thought this was actually the best part of the meal. The chips are light and crisp, and the salsa is delish. For the main course, I got the 6 oz sirloin with roasted avocado. It came with a small salad and roasted garlic tomatoes(which I read as potatoes at first glance…). Overall the meal was decent, and the steak which I ordered as medium rare was rather chewy. Portion size was good though considering my stomach has gotten smaller since living in Japan. They also have this screen on the tables that has a digital menu, and you can check out with credit card and bounce quickly if need be — that was pretty neat.

Okay food, horrible service. Never coming back. The waiter was not friendly, and we didn’t see him the minute he took our orders, he showed up 30 minutes later with the food, and totally forgot about the appetizers we ordered. Didn’t refill any of the drinks. Just horrible
