History

Established in 1998.

Roland traveled the country for 3 years installing computer networks and Document Management Systems for the nation’s top 100 law firms. Life on the road got tiresome, so he settled in the Bay Area in 1997 working exclusively for San Francisco law firms. He promptly started moonlighting as a consultant. It became obvious to him after a couple of months that small business and home-​based business wanted the dedicated and personalized service he could offer.

Ibota, Inc. was borne of that in idea 1998. What started out as a single corporate client in Cupertino quickly turned into more customers through referalls and networking. As the business grew, Roland hired people to offer additional services. Adminstrative help was hired to ensure customers get the highest quality of service. After 10 years in business, we are proud to say we can help people with just about any technology project. Let us help you with your computer repair, phone system, virus removal, or other project.

Roland has always been interested in technology and gadgets. As a young boy he used to disassemble anything he could get his hands on to see what made it tick. When the first PC became available he begged his parents to get him one for Christmas. Programming and online bulletin boards became his passtime through middle and high school. His passion for computers led to an Electrical Engineering degree from Virginia Tech.

Upon graduation, he took a traveling consulting job for a major firm in the Washington D.C. area with 2 goals in mind: learn everything about networking to start his own business and see the big cities of this great nation. Roland has 19 years of professional experience delivering creative Information Technology Solutions for Small Business. He enjoys technology, but above all he enjoys working with people and helping them with their technology challenges. He derives great satisfaction from sharing his knowledge with others. He made San Jose his home in 1997.

These guys must be super busy because I’ve emailed them 3 times trying to set an appointment with no success. Then I called 3 times, spoke to a friendly receptionist but she passed me onto a voicemail that I then left 3 messages on.
They must be great at servicing their existing clients because new ones like me cannot get through.
I ended up doing the work myself spending 1 hour on the labor and saving about $ 130. Just wish they would have called me and told me upfront they were too busy.

We contracted with Ibota, to move our phone numbers and phone system, from our old location, to our new location. From our very first communications, Roland and his team, were very responsive and sensitive, to the needs of our company. The pricing was more than fair. They handled everything, from start, to finish, with great care and attention to detail. I would have no hesitations, recommending Ibota, in the future, to any of my associates.

Ibota’s services were soooo helpful to my small business. My computer was just being super-​slow, programs were crashing, etc. Joe came out– was super calm, polite, helpful, & flexible. Oh– and on time. My computer now runs so much more efficiently, he helped me get a better virus software program, & they provide remote monitoring so when I needed to trouble-​shoot over the phone– Joe was able to see exactly what I was seeing. I highly recommend them!

Ok, so I needed to get my Outlook set up on my desk top and needed a professional, reliable, reasonable priced service. WHALA! I call Ibota and they listen to my needs and book an appointment with me in a few days. Now it is the day of the my home appointment and arrive on time and this great young man listens to my need and says not to worry. So true not to worry, fast, reasonable fees, on-​time, personable, helpful tips and SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I initial spoke to Rolland and he was great & Joe came out and he was fantastic too! I will use them again anytime!

We called Ibota Yesterday when we were having internet problems at my office. Roland answered the phone and walked me through their process and said he was available to come out right away.
When he arrived they got right to work and fixed our problem within two hours and went above and beyond to make sure the problem was fixed throughout our network. I will only call them from now and and love when customer service is #1. We do the same with our business and had no idea anyone still cared like Ibota. Thanks again guys !!!

So our company’s internet went down, and we needed help ASAP otherwise we’d have to shutdown and send employees home for the day.
I contacted IBOTA and spoke to Roland Lewis who was able to come immediately and troubleshoot our problem. He already had a packed schedule, but given the ugency of our case, he managed to squeeze in time and come to our office to fix the problem.
Very professional and down to earth. IMO his business should be called iHero because he was the hero of the day!

Ibota is really as good as it gets, I thought this years ago when I worked with Roland and Joe and I still think it’s true today. Now I own my own business and whenever I have a tough decision to make I try to image what Roland would do if he were in my shoes. It seemes like no matter what the situation was Roland could find a solution. He has a certain confidence (and sense of humor) that makes a perilous circumstance feel like a walk in the park. There were a number of times when I was with him when bad went to worse and we still managed to find a way to save the day.
I know from personal experience that the Ibota team has your businesses best interests at heart. They are more than just another IT company, they can give your business life. To this day if I need any technical advice Roland is the first person that I think of. If I had the chance to work with Ibota again I would take it, and I hope you would too.

I worked at Ibota for six months as a network associate, and what I learned here during this period is what I might learn somewhere else in years.
Ibota is a one-​stop shop for any small business IT needs. You name it, business-​class phone system installation/​support/​training, network setup, implementation and maintenance, Server and workstation installation/​optimization/​support, reliable back up solutions, remote support, wiring/​cabling, etc.
Roland, as the director of company, always stays on top of everything. He tracks everything and doesn’t miss even a single thing. That’s why the customer service is blazing fast at Ibota and most of the clients issues resolve ASAP. Also Joe Walts, as the technical director of company (and my direct supervisor) is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable persons I’ve ever seen.
Working at Ibota was enjoyable, fun and a pleasure for me. I’m always grateful for that.

These guys are great. I called on a Friday afternoon hoping to have somebody come out and fix my business phone the same day (yeah right). Amazingly, they said that one of the techs would stop by on his way home.
The guy showed up at 5:30 on a Friday evening. He was super knowledgable and fixed our problem quickly without any issues.
The coolest part was that since I was paying them for an hour and there was some extra time left on the clock when he finished, he offered to hook up a couple of other jacks in our office that were not currently set up.
