Approximately 4 years ago I hired these folks to extract 4 lower teeth and to replace with 4 implants. They did a marvelous job… very professional. So… Sept 4^th of 2014 I went back for another extraction and for a future implant. This particular upper molar was excruciating to remove… I was in the chair for 1 ½ hours… they had to cut it up into pieces to extract… but I accepted the pain and went home with an antibiotic prescription… which is standard for all dental work. After a few days I was experiencing horrible sinus headaches… I called them and went in… they gave me another antibiotic prescription… the same one I just took for a week. Soon after all those pills were used up… my sinus condition was deteriorating rapidly… with horrible drainage ²⁴⁄₇ into my throat… basically I was swallowing pus… down my throat day and night! I called again… they prescribed another bout of antibiotics… my third round of pills… a heavier duty one… another 10 days of pills. After they were used up… I was seeing no improvement and the left side of my sinuses were totally plugged up… I could not breath through that side of my nose. This sinus infection had gone on now for 3 months… and I was in huge pain… so I called back and they said… better find an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor. I located a great one here in Santa Cruz (Dr Hetzler)…and after some Prednisone (no help) I had to go in for a CTScan… luckily I have medicare… that scan was $ 1333! Soon after my doctor scheduled a date for surgery… the surgery was approximately 5 months after my tooth extraction… he went and and had to scrap out all the pus and infection… again some pain. It’s now a month after the surgery… I can now breath easily… the infection is gone and back to normal… thanks to Dr Hetzler. When I first checked in with the dentists with my issue… they told me «they went by the book… the usual protocol for extractions… I know they did their best but I told them when I came in I did not have this horrible infection… and I walked out with one of the most excruciating head issues that a human can endure… sleepless nights… and terrible drainage day and night. And I truly thought they might call one day to see how I was doing along the healing path… not a single call! I had to initiate every contact. And about 3 weeks ago I email them with my news about surgery… and I get no call back… but i do get an email from one of their receptionists that their insurance company will be calling me! I receive no call from the insurance folks… so i call them about a week later… and now I have obtained all the doctors documents to file a claim… not what I had ever planned to do… but I came home that day with a major infection that iIdid not cause… and now feel that there should be some kind of recourse… I also talked to my regular dentist along the way and she said that there is not real cure for sinus infections… that was not good news… but I’m now infection free and will not go back to the Central Dental Implant Group. I also sent them thousands of dollars worth of business… and really never received even a thanks for sending in more friends. So… good luck with extractions and I hope no one ever has to experience a major sinus infection.

I’ve been coming here for the last couple years since it’s close by and the reviews were good. The office is very clean and nice, but does get cold in the early hours in winter. The waiting area is decently comfortable and the staff is very nice. All of them are korean so it’s easy for that group to communicate.
I had quite a few things done here in the past, including a crown, 1 – 2 fillings, many cleaning and a deep cleaning. It’s pretty easy to get an appointment at a convenient time and wait is short.
My dental hygienist is very funny and fills the awkward cleaning time with conversation (albeit mostly one way). The doctors are competent and I feel they should communicate a bit more. The office is very good at keeping up and reminding the cleaning and visit schedules as well. Overall its a good place for dental work.

I first learned about Central Dental when I saw a coupon for a dental implant. My husband had been putting it off because of the cost. The coupon allowed him to replace his tooth so much more affordably, and the service and dental work really impressed him. I just switched over to them myself recently. I’ve had two fillings and a crown done, all within my budget for the first time, and not a single problem afterward with my teeth. The staff is friendly, efficient, and there is not a lot of chit-​chat, which I appreciate. I am impressed by the way they have embraced technology — digital x rays, reminders for the appt. on my cell phone etc. I’d recommend this dental group to anyone. Plenty of parking.

During my last 4 months of extensive ongoing dental work I have always had the best treatment from all staff and doctors. This office is where everyone works diligently and are very happy to be at work. There are all on the same page. I have had 5 doctors doing different specialties including a Tooth Implant, Root Canal, Extraction and cavities filled.
Each Doctor showed real patient care like you usually get from your MD. They care about you. They do not take advantage of you by charging excess fees and they have made an arrangement or two on breaking up my payments. Dr. Ahn, I believe it is his practice is always watching his office to be sure all things are done well for you. You can tell Dr Ahn what problem (s) you have and he is open and wants to know as Dr. Ahn has shown he wants to learn and improve. Does his best to run a perfect office. And it is pretty much perfect. Never had a rude person. I have learned something important about my teeth from every doctor I did see. Instead of the feeling I usually have at my other Dentists it is a secret to keep from the patient. My Implant, Root Canal and extraction barely hurt afterward and you can tell why as all the Doctors I have seen are real professional highly practiced and skilled. The prices are very reasonable. They are Honest. I came in one day and they where figuring a credit they felt I was owed and I thought I might have owed. I lost my temp retainer for the Implant and they replaced that at a very discounted price within one day for me and they where happy do it and did not even wanted to charge me. Sunny is sorta the main office person and she is a delight always to schedule and or pay your bill with. They have an awesome e-​mail system for reminding you of your appointment and having you confirm your appointment. I would tell any one to go see Central Dental Group without worry. My review is time tested and not a first impression based on many other Dental encounters to compare against. The Doctors act like Doctors and not like your average Rock star Dentist personality many love to brag their dentist is so good because of that. Come here for top notch, caring, compassionate, empathetic and most of all high quality Dental Procedures. Come here for sure for implants at very a good price. There flexible as well. All the people who work there are just good people and not fake nice. Just good nice people.

Good dentistry overall. The location is convenient and safely located in Santa Clara, parking was not an issue. The office itself was also clean, the staff was friendly, dentist was informative, so why not 5 stars?
They are using archaic technology from the 90s– traditional oral x-​rays. While many of us are used to this, there are a number of dentists who have switched over to digital x-​rays.
Digital x-​rays allow dentists to easily spot tooth decay before it fully matures into a cavity. It allows for dentists to treat you in a preventative manner, rather than a reactive (let’s fix the damage) manner.
Once this dentistry updates their technology to digital, I will be recommending this place to everyone. They already have the customer service, professionalism, and facility going for them, this is the only drawback, in my opinion.

i kinda thought something was fishy they advertise a very low price for a dental implant and when i got there they started to recomend upgrades to raise the price, although the base price was low by the time you added the recomended upgrades the price went back up, i would not recomend this dentist office

I’ve been searching for a new dentist I can trust with major restorative procedures. Dr. Ahn at Central Dental Group is it. I had a perfect extraction done with no problems afterwards. He’ll be doing my implant in a few months and I have complete confidence in him. His staff are all really nice. Lois at the front is very knowledgeable about insurance and scheduling questions. His charges are reasonable considering that his office is modern and beautiful. Congratulations to Dr. Ahn and his staff on their very successful dental practice! Keep up the good work!

Dr. Ahn has been my dentist for nearly a decade. He and his fine staffs provide excellent dental services in the clean and modern facility.
