History

Established in 1985.

MTP began when Michael Stroud, aka Magic Mike or Majinga the Magician, started college. With studies in psychology and art, he also became an accomplished writer who has contributed to 9 Klutz Press titles (Scholastic Books), and numerous trade magazines.

Performing regularly on TV20’s «Cartoon Classics» show in the early 90’s, his fame eventually spread world-​wide performing for family audiences in over a dozen countries around the world. In 2005, after a performance of magic and comedy lectures in China and Indonesia, he brought back ancient secrets you will see no other magicians perform.

We had Magician Mike Stroud come out to the 2015 Holiday Party for the Burlingame Masonic Lodge.
Magician Mike’s show is a yearly repeat for our children’s party, and every year we hear many complements from the children and parents. His show is interactive, and he asks for children to come up on stage to assist him. My kids, 5y/​o and 3y/​o, usually cannot sit through a magic show, as they don’t typically grasp some of the tricks, but Magician Mike does make his tricks fun and easy to relate to for all ages. Magician Mike also does a special «Santa» introduction each year and makes our Santa appear amongst a flurry of snow confetti! I’m sure we will continue to reserve Magician Mike each year!

Saw Magic Mike perform this past weekend. Magic, yes. Amazed and baffled, yes. In addition to that is his great showmanship. Mike has a cleaver whit and spot on delivery. His jokes are hysterical. He performed with 3 others who were also great. Thanks for making us all feel good!

Magic Mike just came to my birthday party (with 20 guests from 7 – 77) and totally made the party a success. His talent is not only the magic but the hilarious banter that accompanies it. All of us loved his spirit, and he didn’t seem to be dumbing down anything for the 4 kids. Just good clean fun. Can’t say enough positive.

We’ve hired Magic Time Productions for my son’s 2nd Birthday event which took place yesterday. I will just say, I am so glad I made the choice to hire Michael. He showed up as scheduled, he gather everyone to the cake table and got everyone involve in singing the Birthday song for my little man. He performed one of the best magic show, even all the adults were impressed with his performance. Michael made everyone laugh so hard and got kids and adults to participate in his show. It was awesome!!! Everyone loved his performance. Most of the guest raved about his performance. Thank you Michael!!! You made my son’s birthday even more special.

Omg, I can’t believe it has been a whole year and I am only now writing a review for Magic Mike…
He was the main attraction at my son’s 6th birthday party and EVERYONE LOVED him and his little bunny!
+1’s:
— I called several entertainers and he was the most assuring, informative, and yes CALMING, one I spoke to, which, aside from the reviews on Unilocal,really helped me with my decision.
— He showed up early, had appropriate jokes, was very interactive with all (20+) kids (and adults), and even helped gather everyone inside for cake when it was ready. He even asked me ahead of time about the theme of the party, so that he could somehow try to incorporate a small part of that into his show.
— We had a couple of really rowdy kids (who were a bit distracting… but hey, what do you expect with a bunch of 6 year olds, right?) but Magic Mike handled the situation perfectly and carried on with the show. He was not impatient with them and found a way to incorporate their… ummm…behavior into the show.
— Hmmm… what else? Jokes, Balloons, puppet segment, magic — the show was entertaining from beginning to end, and everyone got to pet the bunny at the end.
— I believe one of the other parents liked him so much that she even hired him for her twins birthday party that summer.
Extra Plus: I will admit it. I won’t even lie. I am one of those really annoying people who calls 2 weeks before, and then a week before, and then a couple of days before something is planned, and Magic Mike was truly very accommodating and patient with me, answering ALL my old and new questions every time.
I would recommend him and hire him again and again if I could!

We saw Michael Stroud at a show at the Walnut Creek Library. He was so wonderful and funny! We decided to hire him for our son’s birthday party. He was booked, but was so nice on the phone and gave me a referral for two other magicians. I really appreciate him spending the time on the phone. I’ve seen these live. Better than the YouTube vids. The best fun and comedy kid show, the best full evening show with dramatic big illusions for benefits and big gatherings. Very outgoing and naturally comedic and witty. Does well either kids or adults. And now he does face changing and robot drama magic. Hard to beat.

Magic Mike performed at my son’s 5th birthday party. I was skeptical as to whether ten 5-​year olds could stay focused for one hour, but they were captivated, as were all of the parents! Magic Mike performed at our 4 year-old’s birthday party. He wasn’t a direct referral, I found him online so I knew I was taking a chance. But… he was terrific.
He is such a professional in all senses of the word. He’s a master at off-​the-​cuff commentary about what’s happening around him. He was not thrown off by any of the kids and their unexpected actions or comments. And, he had the adults in stitches. From what I’ve seen, it’s so difficult for a performance artist to handle both the kids and the adults. He did it effortlessly and with appropriate humor and talent.

Magic Mike (aka Majinga the Magician, aka Michael Stroud) really is the best. His unique style of magic is funny and sophisticated. A lot of performers say they are entertaining for kids and adults, but he really achieves it. The adults are as engaged as the kids. He is fabulous with the audience and his quick-​witted improv makes a lasting impression. He is a talented magician of stage and close-​up. If you ever need to hire a magician, you’d be lucky to have him. Anyone with a phone number like 408-​BIG-​SHOW has got to be serious, right? Can’t say enough. He’s my favorite magician and you have to see him perform to know why.

I am a preschool teacher, and one year an extravagant parent had Magic Mike (Michael Stroud of Magic Time Productions) give a performance in our class for her child’s birthday. It was absolutely fabulous, completely entertaining the two dozen 4-​year-​olds and spiced with enough adult humor to have all of us in stitches.
I enjoyed him so much that I had him perform at our wedding! Everyone thought I was nuts when I said I was going to have a magician at our wedding, and then afterwards everyone was raving about how fabulous Magic Mike was. He is very professional and I can’t recommend him highly enough.
