went all the way out here just to end up getting a shade darker than my skin tone foundation. im not going to travel down there again to exchange, so i am hoping if i get darker during summer itll be a better fit for me. and the yellow primer does not make it lighter or more evened out to my neck and body. it just looks like i tanned my face not body in natural light. and i got the face and body foundation. MUFE needs to expand their color range

Love this store! Every time I come in here, I’m always blown away by the great customer service. I came in last week and was looking for products to achieve a «glitter eyeshadow look» and I was helped by two associates. They were both knowledgable about their products and patient with me while I decided the intensity of the «glitter look». I ended up with exactly what I wanted and left a very happy customer! I really wish I caught their names but one was a tall blonde and the other MUA had black hair with blunt bangs and had a «pin-​up look» to her. Thank you so much ladies!

I always get quality service when I go to Make Up For Ever. The ladies working here have been extremely informative and friendly. I left feeling happy and excited to use my new products.
My mixing palette went missing last minute right before a photo shoot, and I also decided to picked up some hydrating and color correcting primer while I was here. MUFE really saved my butt! Thank you!

Friday I had my makeup done by Vanessa. I absolutely loved it and she was super sweet!
I had a 10am appointment and the wedding I was part of wasn’t until 5pm and my makeup looked freshly done still when the wedding started. She did exactly what I asked for and had amazing recommendations for my face. Moisturizer is key :) ! I will for sure be returning and asking for her services !

More so a review about an employee, rather than the store:
Serena was soooo awesome. When I came in, she had pink hair and leopard kicks, but if that doesn’t speak about how awesome she was, I can tell you. As a gay guy, and a current employee of another name brand store, I got mistaken as a co-​worker. She promptly took the customers off my hands (including my friend that I came with), and skillfully applied makeup, colormatched, and rung people up despite the fact that their internet went down. She was still suuuper pleasant the whole time with people coming in and out, and was thankfully honest when I almost picked out a shade that made me look more orange than Kim Kardashian. Unfortunately, they were out of the brush I wanted, a powder brush for my finishing powder, and I also live in San Francisco, so I won’t be able to see her any time soon, but she’s definitely a great person to see. Whether you want color matching, opinions, or even just a talk about other brands in an honest manner, she’s your gal.

I was so unfairly treated returning a defective product!!!
So I used to own one of their aqua brow gel and bought a new one on Tuesday 09/​29/​2015 from the MUFE boutique (since Sephora doesn’t have the color 35). Came home, I found there was just a transparent liquid coming out all the way instead of the actual product. Since it seemed there was only ¹⁄₃ of content left in the tube and I never saw the actual paste, I decided to return it on Friday ¹⁰⁄₀₂. The employee who claimed herself as the store manager argued that it is their policy to not accept any used product and attacked me verbally, saying how could she know if that is used or not. But are you kidding me? It had been 3 days only since I bought it and I never even had a chance to USE THE PRODUCT!!! The final reason she gave me for not accepting, without admit it was defective or even try to examine the product, was that they could not sell the return to others because it was used, which I denied. If so, trying to sell something to other people that is returned defective, should I suspect the product I got was a return from some one in the first hand? I’ve never had such experience returning things (not even defective items) ever and I’m still quite shocked about her horrible manner.

and still haven’t received any reply, tried to call them this morning, no one picked up the phone and the voicemail box was full. I don’t usually write reviews but I really don’t know whom else I can seek for help, sigh…

I love that their consultations are actually meant to help you learn application. I had previously visited Sephora where I was told they would teach me. $ 50 of merchandise later and I still didn’t learn or was taught a thing about application. At this location, you can do a full face and eye consultation for $ 100 or do just eye or just face (complexion) for $ 50 each. They will do one half of your face for you and help you learn how to match the other side so you are actually getting a lesson!
They also have a private room for waxing so your hairy business will stay your business. The ladies were all very nice and I didn’t feel pressure to buy anything. I also wasn’t nervous or intimidated by their workers because of how accessible they made themselves to me.

Came here for a Unilocal event yesterday. The ladies working the store are all very friendly and nice. They did a great job on my eyebrows, shout out to Linda and the manager who filler them! it was easy, pain free and quick! and the result was really good even for a girl with not much eyebrows…
The store is a tad small, but it’s well designed and have pretty much everything.

Walking into the store, you are greeted by a makeup store with organized stands of various products and brightly-​lit vanity mirror booths. All of the employees are very helpful and sweet as well. I am writing this review from my positive experience of the Unilocal Elite Event hosted at Make Up For Ever. At this event, I had the opportunity to get my eyebrows waxed for the first time.
Now, I never thought I would ever get anything waxed in my life — let’s just say I have a very low pain tolerance. But when I walked into Make Up For Ever and was offered the opportunity to wax my brows, curiosity got the better of me. Mary was awesome throughout my entire eyebrow waxing session and walked me through each step of the procedure in full detail. We were chatting the entire time that my session ended before I even realized it. She absolutely made me feel at ease and comfortable throughout the entire session. To be honest, this eyebrow waxing experience did not hurt at all. This painless and smooth procedure was a great first experience and I would totally come back in the near future. In the past, I would always get my eyebrows threaded but would leave in disappointment because my eyebrows wouldn’t look 100% clean or symmetrical. After this successful eyebrow waxing session, I was super happy with my results and will be returning soon.
Also, another employee helped me with the techniques of filling my brows in and contouring my face. And in case you were wondering, I ended up purchasing the Aqua Brow Kit so that my brows will be on fleek for ever thanks to Make Up For Ever.

I do a weekly news segment that requires me to wear 853 869 438 642 398 pounds of make-​up because thanks to the magic of Hi-​Def television, it’s become infinitely harder to hide that I’m actually 33% troll.
I came to Make Up For Ever because the flawless weather reporter opposite our segment recommended Make Up For Ever’s HD foundation and I had nothing to lose.
This store is pretty small and even with two employees and two customers there’s not a whole lot of room for moving around and not being in the way if someone is getting their make-​up done.
I knew I wanted to be matched for a foundation color by a professional because I live in a world that’s a constant battle between what I want to be reality and what is actually reality, and most of the time the two things are worlds apart. In my head, I’m much better looking than photographs and television prove me to be and in my head I can leave my apartment without make-​up and not scare the villagers. The reality is, I need a legit foundation to cover uneven skin tone, acne, scarring, and all of the things and reasons I’ll never be Tyra Banks’ next top model.
Luckily, one their associates stepped right up to help match my foundation color and hooked me up with some other essential MUFE products, but without any kind of hard sell. She just used them and explained what she was putting on my face so the foundation would be more effective.
I ended up getting a hydrating primer for my perpetually dry (but somehow still greasy-as-f*ck skin), their miracle HD foundation, a translucent pressed powder, a concealer cream, lip gloss (which has never before been my thing), and I learned a new application technique that works like a charm and makes the make-​up look as if it’s airbrushed, while wasting a lot less product.
Miracles.
Can’t wait to go back and stock up on their mascara (I have a tester and it doesn’t clump, lasts, and is light on your eyes) so I can be as camera ready as possible.

I had just received my Pro Card and was so excited to purchase some new goodies for my kit. Called the store to ask a few questions and ended up talking to Lynette (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!). She was SO helpful, super informative and great to chat with. She suggested some amazing products and spent time explaining her favorite items. I was so impressed by her knowledge and customer service. She told me she is one of the lead makeup artists there :) I will definitely be in soon to take some of their classes and try out more products. Thank you Lynette!

When you walk into this store as a makeup lover you will be impressed. They have beautiful tester displays and very attentive sales associates. The benefit of going to this store versus senhora nearby is that they carry their entire line and can even show you ways to use their product. If you’re the type of makeup person who likes to be left alone to try things out you can do that too. The testers are all whole and easily accessible. They also provide a lot of sample applicators and wands for you to use. If this is a brand you love check out the full store.

I have visited this location several times! I am an industry professional and can order my items via my accounts but sometimes I prefer human interaction! Let me tell you Serena is always incredibly amazing!!! I always feel comfortable asking questions and getting to know different products. She is always more than willing to go the extra mile to ensure I have all the information I need to make my best purchases to suit my needs. MUFE products are on the top of my list of go to products! My clients are very important to me and I rely on quality products with Makeup Forever being one of them!

The customer service here is fantastic and the product itself is beyond satisfactory!
I came in and asked to try out face products (ie concealers, foundations, powders, etc) and I left with everything I didn’t even know I wanted/​needed! (I usually only dust on a little powder so this was a big deal!)
When I came in, Lynette greeted me and … basically made me a new person. She sat me down, matched my colors, asked me questions, then worked her magic. She is the head makeup artist there and she is SUCH a pro! She definitely knew her way around the line and taught me how to put on makeup! She walked me through all the techniques for application with everything she was using, which I LOVED, because that was info I could take with me and use at home!
When I got back to my hotel, my husband was SO pleased with how my makeup turned out! He would be the first to notice if something wasn’t right but it was incredible how natural the makeup looked and felt! That wouldn’t happen with just any makeup or any makeup artist! Lynette truly knows what she’s doing. She’s literally the Vincent van Gogh of makeup.
This whole awesome experience was almost a month ago. I had waited on the review to make sure I could comment on how great the product was too. They didn’t sell me anything that I regret purchasing. I got the Face & Body foundation (very hydrating), a brightening concealer, and a bronzer (and a few eye shadows). Every single item was exactly as Lynette had promised it would be: amazing.
I will be going back to this location when I’m in the area, and making sure that my girl Lynette is working so she can make me feel like royalty again.
I couldn’t be more satisfied with how I was treated, how Lynette’s makeup application was impeccable, and how she showed me quality products that are actually quite literally fantastic!

Let me start by saying that I’ve never had my brows waxed before. I’ve always been super scared of it. My friend had never been to Valley Fair before so I was showing her around and that’s when we saw MAKE UP FOREVER offered brow services. I decided to take the plunge and get my eyebrows done because they were out of control and needed it reaaal bad lol. Their brow specialist, Mary, was super sweet and inviting so it immediately put me at ease. They have this cool little room in the back where the waxing is done and it’s super private which I loved. The thing that I loved most was that it was CLEAN. Super important. I had so many questions and was mainly concerned with redness/​breaking out, but Mary answered all of them and none of the unwanted side effects of waxing happened to me! She is SO amazing!!! She worked super fast and even showed me how to fill in my brows with their Aqua Brow, which I am now obsessed with! It stayed on even after my intense workout class! My friend and I stayed to shop around the store a little more and picked Mary’s brain regarding other products. We left with a ton of new goodies and extremely satisfied!
A-​freakin-​mazing job, Mary! Thank you so much!!! I will most definitely be coming back!

My review only pertains to the brow service here. I’ve never really shopped around for makeup in this store but the brow service here is wonderful!
Linda does my brows and I always felt that my brows were pretty meh before getting them done here. Linda introduced to Makeup Forever’s aqua brow product the first time she did my brows and now I’m obsessed! My brows are now one of my favorite features about myself! The brow service here is much more detail oriented than other ones in the mall. They use a magnifier to get every stray hair, trim your brows, and fill them in for you. Plus they have a room towards the back of the store they do your brows in so everyone walking around can’t stare at you while you’re sitting there.
I definitely think at $ 23 this is the best value brow service in the mall. Been multiple times and never had any problems.

I hate to be a butthead but I honestly don’t know how I feel about this location anymore. I used to love coming here; Gigi always helped me out and the girls are usually super nice. I came in on my birthday to pick up some goodies and I was getting all the best help I needed. HOWEVER! There is one particular individual who seemed to not enjoy her job and made it apparent when my simple exchange was a hassle for her.
First off, I’m a Backstage Pass member. I spend money here regardless. So if I want a simple exchange, there’s no need to get your panties in a bunch, sweetheart. She did the exchange incorrectly and then considered it a hassle to correct it like it was my fault. She was calculating the difference on the mistake and said i would owe her money. Uhm, no. The exchange difference would have been less than the first time (when she mistakenly exchanged it), yes. But I shouldn’t owe you anything, booboo. Just void the transaction and re-​do it. It was your mistake and you’re huffin n puffin like I’m the pain? To top it off, she said «well I was trying to do it the easy way, but now I have to void it out.» Oh? Well, excuse me, princess. Maybe if you didn’t mess up the first time, you wouldn’t have this problem. Sorry ’bout it!
I work in customer service, retail and the make-​up industry. All you have to do is smile and do your job and your client will be happy. If you made a mistake, simply apologize and fix it. No need to be rude, annoyed or even point out that I’m the nuisance when you’re the one who made a mistake. I wasn’t even upset about the mistake but I’m definitely upset about how I was treated.
I’ll still be shopping here but I’m probably gonna avoid her and stick to my usual people who have absolutely no problem helping me out or ensuring that I leave the store happy. She ruined a great experience I had that day over something pretty stupid. Very unnecessary!

This is a great addition to Valley Fair & I couldn’t be happier! The lovely ladies are so nice & welcoming, I didn’t have to fight for some assistance.
Lots of stock because they just opened. Seriously, everything is so new I was really excited to test them out!
