The winter session rental policy makes no sense. I’m taking an online class, actually two. And I plan to take my final after work tonight around 7 p.m. If I have to turn in the books by 2 p.m. the day of the final. How is that convenient for a student? I had to leave work during lunch to make it back and return these books. After paying $ 297, and being cheated of a few extra hours before my final exam, how is this reasonable for the online learner? And if you tried to call the bookstore, you go straight to voicemail. I was told by a store clerk that they don’t pick up the phone unless they know the number, so much for Customer Service and for me trying to have a simple question answered! I will try Amazon for sure next time and disregard any warnings that the version of the textbook is not what the instructor wants. This operation is definitely not practical for the full time working online student. I ask for the manager and she was unavailable and had left for the day. Another thing, the instructor’s post power point presentations that comes straight from the book, save your money college students!

Bureaucratic place. Unless you print your class schedule they won’t look for your book on the shelf. Even if you offer to show on your phone or write it down the name of the book or class number, they say they can’t look for your book unless you bring it in print. And you have no access to look the books. Plus… I believe I got better deals for my past classes.

I will go over 2 parts here in this review. Organization, and Pricing. As far as Organization is concerned, this store is very disorganized. For the past 2 years, the books I have ordered have been shipped 2 – 5 days later, or have been not been shipped at all. If you can order the book from Amazon, then that is the better choice because it will be cheaper and much, much faster. In addition, most of the time they don’t order enough books. This is partially due to the fact that classes change the books every year as a means to make money, and many of the students drop the classes in time to return the books. As a result, they don’t order enough to keep up with demand. Now for pricing. The books are always overpriced. The same books on Amazon are anywhere from $ 3-$ 20 cheaper, and again, are shipped faster for less. Overall, this place is the first place you go to to find a book you need for classes, if they don’t have it, order it online. If you need a place to get a snack or some writing tools or scantrons, this is the place to get it.

We’ve been buying class books now for three semesters and are very happy with the bookstore. The employees are always very nice and they are helpful. We hand over the printout of our classes and they gather up all the right books. Although it is a small store they have the snacks, supplies and clothing that we like to buy. We like the online purchase of textbooks, the textbook rental feature, and that it is located near to the free parking.

You can get snacks here. They cost the same as the snacks in the cafeteria and there’s no $ 5 minimum like the cafeteria has. Everyone who works in here is usually very nice and helpful. However, when I went today a woman by the name of «chris» was working there and she was extremely rude.

Avoid getting your textbooks online unless you plan to pick it up a few days later or have them shipped to you. I ordered my textbooks on a Thursday thinking I can pick it up the following morning was a dead wrong notion because«it was wasn’t ready» so I might as well go to the bookstore physically and have the staff get my books instead. When I received my email notification that my order was ready, I came to the school literally w/in one hour. When I got there, the staff asked for my name. then they asked for my «box number» but it took the girl nearly 10 minutes to locate my order. MC Bookstore Staff: please don’t send out notifications until the order is ready and boxed and not just on top of the counter w/some paperwork. The online option should have made it easier on both the student and staff but my case was not the case. Note: students that intend to go to the bookstore physically to get your textbooks, it is BETTER, no, it is WAYBETTER to print out your class schedule or registration statement. flipping through the school’s catalog makes it time consuming for everyone involved.

1. they don’t allow students to walk around the textbook area which is no good for student to look for the RIGHT textbook and then choose the teacher/class we like/want… 2. scantron is $ 1.98 for 6 sheets. Most expensive among other community colleges’ bookstores
