The providers are very interactive with all age groups which will help to create a strong bond between the caregivers and the children which will aide in their ability to thrive.

Providers spend quality time with the infants nurturing, cuddling and loving them assuring their needs are met and providing the type of environment they’re sure to thrive in. We strive to offer your child as much interaction and stimulation as possible. This includes being talked to, read to, sang to and played with all while introducing them to new and exciting things.

Our commitment to love, care and enrich your children is our primary focus. Your child’s happiness and sense of security while in our care as well as their safety and comfort is always being considered. We understand the need for quality childcare and we feel confident that we have the ability to meet your expectations if not exceed them.

History

Established in 2004.

My business started in April 2004 with only 3 children under the age of 1 year and just myself as a caregiver. In January of 2005 I was near capacity at 12 children and hired an assistant caregiver. All the children thereafter that come to my daycare are here as a referral from a co-​worker or family member or a friend. I have a waiting list and families who are willing to find temporary care until a spot opens up. We love the children as if they were are own and it’s apparent in their happy faces.

I come from a background of Health Care as a medical research assistant for premature labor. I then completed a course as a clinical medical assistant with the purpose of working specifically with the pediatric patients. After careful consideration for a career change I retired from Kaiser Hospital after 15 years of service to open up a daycare. It was the best decision I have ever made as it has been self rewarding watching the children grow from an infant to a child who is ready for preschool.

Just a few clarifications to the owner’s input. I never walked into their establishment. When I drove by the place I saw other parents dropping off their children. Once I was at their door, I knocked the door twice, when I didn’t hear a response, I pushed the door and called out for assistance.
I agree, everyone has their right to privacy, I’d never try to call or show up at a private residence. Since this is an advertised daycare/​preschool, I decided to show up at their door, only after all my calls were neither answered nor returned.
Also, I can totally understand anyone being busy during work hours and not answering phone calls. but running a daycare and not returning some 10 – 15 enquiry calls just shows the callous attitude.
I even tried to reason out things with the owner immediately after the visit, but in hindsight I feel that’s a mistake. if my child is in a daycare, I certainly would want the flexibility to call them anytime and know how he is doing. I’d certainly prefer a place that has a better communication system in place.
In retrospect, when they never returned my calls, I believed that their phone number has changed just like their address .had I known that they just didn’t bother to return my calls. I’d have never pursued this daycare in the first place.

I agree with Aarti’s review. My husband and I had a similar experience. We were met very rudely at the door even though she had told my husband to come anytime between 9−11am. She was so rude and hesitated about giving a tour and ultimately didn’t give the tour which I was fine with because I do not want to leave my kids with someone with an attitude like hers.

My son attended Peek A Boo from the age of 1 to 3 ½ years old when he transitioned to preschool. I love this childcare and so does my son. He has been gone since late August, and is doing well in preschool, but he still asks weekly to go to Brenda’s house. He misses her and Amelia and Taylor so much and he wants to see all of his friends, as he says.
Her set up is extremely conducive for babies and toddlers, very spacious activity room and her home is impeccably clean. Her backyard is perfect and naturally shaded by trees so the kids don’t burn up in the sun on warm days, and is filled with lots of climbing structures and bouncy houses. They also get to visit the nearby park and on occasion go for outings like the neighborhood Pumpkin Patch. Each Christmas the kids are visited by Santa Claus, and given the cutest gifts.
The preschool he attends was so impressive with how smart he is, and says he is advanced for his age group. Thanks to Peek-​A-​Boo, he can identify all of his letters, say the sound they make, and give you a word that starts with that letter. Show him an F, and he will say F, make the F sound, and flap his arms and say Fly. So cute! He also learned to count, potty train, use good manners, and get along socially well with other children older and younger than him.
Brenda and her staff are so kind and loving, and every time I pick up or drop off, one of them can be found loving on the children, or on the floor playing with them, laughing with them, and truly making it feel like their home away from home to the kids. If I ever have another baby, I will only take my baby to Peek-​A-​Boo and will get on the waiting list the moment I find out I’m pregnant. I trust this place and these loving women with my most cherished gift, my children.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for Unilocal in helping me locate Peek-​a-​boo Childcare! I consider myself extremely blessed to have had my son with Brenda and her staff these past two years. Deciding on where to leave your child is never an easy decision, but my husband and I knew within minutes of walking into Peek-​a-​boo and meeting Brenda, that this was where my son deserved to be. Brenda and her AMAZING staff are not only safe, stable and nurturing, but more importantly extremely fun and LOVING. Peek-​a-​boo really truly became like a second home for my son and like another family to my own. My son looked forward to going
so I knew he was in the best of hands. Due to his age, he has now moved on to a pre-​kindergarten program, but still asks how Brenda is doing a couple times a week. That speaks volumes to me and I will forever be grateful for Brenda and her incredible staff for helping me mold my child into a loving, well mannered, smart and caring boy. I thank Peek-​a-​boo from the bottom of my heart for creating the very best environment for my son and aiding him to flourish in every way imaginable.

When I asked from what age they accept, Peek-​A-​Boo said from newborn babies, but I was told there is no available spots until Dec 2012 and to call at year end to check for availability. I called for my 5 month old baby. One week later, I see an ad in Craigslist for Peek-​A-​Boo with openingS for toddlers and older…
Honesty is important, and I’m glad I saw the ad. Of course I won’t be calling again.

Our son has been in day care since he was 8 months old and prior to coming to Peek A Boo at the age of 1.5 yrs he had already been through 1 other day care and a stay at home nanny. Neither of those suited him, nor us, very well for a number of reasons. Our primary objectives were to find a clean, safe and nurturing environment for our son and are we glad we found Peek A Boo. We found that and much more! My son just moved on to preschool and it was with a heavy heart that we moved on as Peek A Boo was like a second home for our son. Brenda and her staff run a well organized day care that is full of warmth. My son was potty trained at 2, learnt the basics of social interaction and mannerisms and Peek A Boo also fostered a sense of independence. Its the soft skills that really set Peek A Boo apart from other centers (or even stay at home nanny’s) I really do believe that it is because of Peek A Boo that my son is now thriving at his new preschool — his new teachers, within a week of being there, commented on his well mannered behavior and communication skills and we know Peek A Boo played a large part in our sons continuing success. I highly recommend Brenda and her team — thanks to Brenda, Amelia, Edna and Denise!

I cannot begin to describe my experience with Peek-​A-​Boo Childcare. My son was with Peek-​A-​Boo Childcare starting @ 15months and attended for almost a year and half. During that duration, Peek-​A-​Boo taught him his ABCs, how to count to 20, half a dozen nursery songs, and most importantly, potty trained him! I had heard horror stories from friends on how difficult potty training was but the method and patience Peek-​A-​Boo made the transition completely seemless! In addition to all that he learned at Peek-​A-​Boo, he knows how to be polite with his «please and thank you“s and has the best manners.
With my son being my first child, I was worried about leaving him at a daycare but after sending him to Peek-​A-​Boo, I feel truly blessed that he was able to be in such a loving, supportive, patient environment. All the caregivers truly love the children and it reflects in the blossoming of the children.
I highly highly recommend Peek-​A-​Boo Childcare for any parents who want to be sure their child is being watched, loved, and raised by «second mother-​like» caregivers.
If and when we have our second child, I will definitely be sending them to Peek-​A-​Boo again!

If you’re looking for a SAFE, NURTURING and most importantly, LOVING environment, look no further. Peek-​A-​Boo (P-​A-​B) became our daughters home away from home. I cannot begin to express the gratitude my husband and I have for Brenda and her staff. As the previous reviews by others, P-​A-​B assisted TREMENDOUSLY with our daughters transition from bottle feeding/​diapers to self-​feeding and potty training. She was SO PREPARED for preschool!!! It’s been a few months since we transferred our daughter and she still asks for Brenda and tells us how much she loves her. Priceless!

I was so pleased with this facility! I came to California and was in need of temporary childcare while I studied for the bar. I went to quite a few daycares and homecare facilities in the Bay Area, but when I visited Peek A Boo I knew right away, that was where my child would go to school.
My three year old son fell in love with the caregivers and the children. The caregivers worked their best to assure that he was well adjusted for the temporary stay. Everyone was warm, caring, and loving.
My son’s favorite part of school was the movies and pizza on Fridays. He especially enjoyed the birthday party that was thrown for him and two other kids who had a birthday the same week as him.
I loved how clean the home was kept and that the classroom was brightly colored and decorated. There was always a good ratio of children to staff (I have left other daycares because they did not adhere to their own policy on staffing minimums). Breakfast, lunch and two snacks are provided.
It is really a wonderful place to leave your children and I wholeheartedly endorse Peek A Boo Home Daycare.

Our daughter has been going to Peek-​a-​boo for about two years now, after a stint at a different daycare. What a difference! She loved the environment immediately, and quickly became much more social with other kids. At times it’s hard to get her home! Periodically our daughter will come home with some goodies, because Brenda staged another small surprise party or event.
We aren’t surprised why: Brenda and Amelia are top notch care takers. Watching them interact with the kids is both impressive and inspiring. They are very involved with the kids and really know what the little ones like. The kids have a large main room to play in, and weather permitting can play in the large back yard — fully stocked with outdoor toys — or go to the nearby park. The kids take naps in two smaller bedrooms.
Brenda has been instrumental in potty training our daughter. She has the patience and dedication that’s needed, and we are much better off as a result. And Brenda’s attention and dedication is not just limited to potty training: after the arrival of our son, our daughter went through a very difficult period of time, to put it very mildly. Yet Brenda and Amelia powered through this very difficult situation and our daughter improved quickly.
Now both of our kids are at Peek-​a-​boo, and both are loving it. We would highly recommend this daycare to anyone — you owe it to yourself, and especially to your kids.

The day care is very clean and well run with separate rooms for taking an afternoon nap and a small outdoor play area. The caregivers work very hard to provide a warm, caring, and fun environment; my son talks about them at home all the time. They also work hard to teach good sleep behaviors and start potty training early. The home environment feels more cozy compared to a large day care center where where drop off and pick up times feel like a cattle call. Several of the parents are bringing the younger siblings to the day care after their older child may move to a pre school, even though it may mean more stops in the morning and afternoon.

My son has been going here for 2 years now and we are sad that he has to leave to go to preschool. We have had the best care here. After looking at many daycare centers and calling/​visiting several home daycares I knew right away this was the place for my child. This is a wonderful place — it’s clean and set-​up well. Most importantly, the caregivers are amazing. They really know what they are doing. The ratio of caregivers to children is 4:1. They have worked with my child to get rid of the pacifier, through the terrible 2s, and potty training — all of which were almost painless. They are close to a park but have plenty of great activities at their facility to keep the kids engaged. I couldn’t imagine a better place for my child and we will miss it terribly.
