Friendly and fast service. I tried the veggie, tuna, and spicy pork rolls and liked the tuna the best to my surprise. I’m already craving to get more sometime soon. I also enjoyed the broth and tea that came with the meal. Good place to study on a weekday afternoon if you can handle Korean TV and chopping as background noise.

Another change in ownership??? First owner was the best, then the next was so so, but this new one… not coming back again. No more hwe du bap(Korean ver. Of chirashi), different servers, no more combos, server silent the whole dining experience. Ordered ra bokkie, $ 2 extra charge for ramen. Why you got to jack up the price for noodles under $ 1?! Décor may be new and cute, but the change in food and people just kills it. So disappointed since this was the only place I knew that serve made to order kimbap. Thumbs down all the way!

I came here on Sunday, late afternoon around 3pm. 3 tables taken. Two already had their food, one was waiting to order. I put in my order for 4 kimbap rolls. The good is, they have all kinds of kimbap. I love the tuna one from Korea and they’re one of the only places that have it. It took them almost an hour to make my 4 rolls. I don’t know WTF was going on. They weren’t busy. I ordered close to 3:00pm and finally got my order at 3:54pm. ALMOSTONEHOURFORFRIGGIN4ROLLSOFKIMBAP!!! Kimbap came with kimchee and takuan(big container of it. Don’t know if that’s normal or if cuz I had to wait). Three stars because the waitress was super nice and gave me tea while I waited, the containers of kimchee and takuan and the rolls were super duper tasty. Only sucky thing was that long-a$$ wait.

There’s a little bit of a language barrier, but manageable. Kind of a lot of food for the price and surprisingly tasty. Only had rolls. Can’t comment on other stuff on the menu.

I came here on Thanksgiving with my friend for lunch. We just wanted something quick, so we thought Korean rolls would be a good idea. We got there and were seated pretty quickly, but the place was really packed. We got menus and I got an udon and my friend and I shared a kimchi kimbap(roll). Our waitress was really helpful and nice, but the food took FOREVER to come out. I do understand that the place was busy and just reopened though. My udon was very boring, but the kimbap was good! I would definitely come back for kimbap and to try something else!

I’ve been coming to roll house for years now. Haven’t been recently but decided to go with my family today. Management has changed and food has gotten better in my opinion. We ordered a whole bunch of food to try different things. Portions are huge! We got donkatsu, sauce was really good and chicken was crispy. I also got jjolmyeon(? Chewy spicy noodle?) which was seasoned well and came with lots of veggies. My grandma got kalguksu; she’s pretty picky but finished the whole bowl. My dad got the bibimbap which comes on a hot plate, again portion was very filling. I also liked the side dishes that came out. Kimchi was fresh and tasty. Looking forward to coming back again :)

I’ve been going to roll house since high school and recently noticed that the ownership has changed. Fortunately, the food is BETTER!!! The kimbap rolls, spicy rice cake, and donkasu(pork cutlet) taste legit! They taste like the ones in Korea. I’ll definitely come back to try more stuff

Under new management! Came here because they put out a ‘Grand Opening’ sign. We got the Sinbi combo, tuna roll, ramen, and a posunee. Everything was pretty authentic but a little bland and dry. They seem to be settling in with the business because they kept moving people around for bigger parties… i think I’ll go back to Kami on Kiely

Went in after the renovations and although the place is small(can seat 20 – 25 ppl), it was very nicely done up. The fried dumplings and shrimps that we had ordered for appetizers tasted decent. We tried the spicy ramen, fried pork gat soo and spicy pork over rice(che yook dub bab) for the main dishes. My personal favorite was the ramen, although not as spicy as the name suggests. The don gatsoo was a bit tangy for my taste but my friends liked it. The spicy pork over rice was a let down, it was slightly on the sweeter side. Service was okay, there was just one lady taking orders and she seemed a bit overwhelmed. The portions here are very big so order carefully. I would go back for the ramen.

I was really craving for Donkatsu and found this place on Unilocal. The name of the restaurant itself gave me second thoughts of coming here to eat, but I gave it a try. We ordered the tuna toll, ttuk bokki and donkatusu. The food was pretty good. Being Korean myself, it is probably one of the best places to try Korean Bunshik in San Jose from the places I have tried so far. Definitely coming back again.

This place is not for me. I didn’t care for their California rolls and I got a bbq steak dish as well that was mediocre compared to the other 5 places I’ve had the dish. Other people seemed happy there and its clean so +1 star for that. I would recommend not getting rolls here. My favorite thing about my meal was the miso soup and the place is kinda cute.

Not many people come here I feel but the food is actually pretty good. I love the Kim bab rolls here and the Korean spicy sauce ramen. Not too expensive and not many people so I really love it. It’s a good lunch choice also and the ingredients always feel very fresh.

I was really craving some Korean veggie rolls and I was in the area so decided to check it out. I loved the veggie rolls! They were really fresh and tasty. I esp love how they had a combo option where you could get a bowl of ramen and ½ an order of veggie rolls for just $ 8.50. Good combo and price FTW! I wasn’t horribly impressed with the ramen since they’re just like instant ramen noodles but it hit the spot and for the price with the combo, I’m not going to complain. I WOULD say try not to order the fried squid… that wasn’t too impressive and if I had known, I would’ve rather spent the money on another order of veggie rolls or something. The place was empty when we came in on a Saturday night(7pm ish?) but it quickly filled up as we settled in. I’d say this is a pretty decent place to grab a quick and casual dinner. I really do like their veggie rolls and the prices are really

I’ve been a regular customer for the past 5+ years, and the kimbap and jjolmeon(spicy cold noodles with veggies) have always been pretty consistent! I love both their veggie and tuna kimbap rolls :) I know some places really skimp on the fillings and overload on the rice, but it’s the complete opposite here. Overall, a great place to satisfy your Korean snack cravings!

I was really craving kimbap one day and came across this place. There is also SGD Tofu House, En, Phở Hoa with Jazen Tea, and Honeyberry in the same plaza. Despite its name Roll House there are not that many rolls. They have various kimbap and then then some unique rolls like kimchi roll, radish roll and tuna fish roll. There is a kid roll which I thought was the white rice wrapped lengthwise for the kids. But it is actually a smaller roll, maybe about an inch smaller in diameter than a regular one. Other rolls are the basics of what you may find at a sushi restaurant. Nothing fancy mind you but some examples include California, spicy tuna and fried shrimp rolls. The rolls make up about 20% of its menu. I have had the regular beef roll, kid roll and fried shrimp roll. The fried shrimp roll has a nice crunch. The other 80% are other Korean favorites. They have an extensive menu with full dishes or snack dishes like ttukboki. Two menus are offered, a regular one listing everything they offer and a picture menu with an individual item on each page. That is awesome for someone who does not have an extensive knowledge of Korean food. The place has noodles, soups, some BBQ, seafood pancake, katsu, etc. Service is prompt and excellent. I have only sampled a few of their items. The sashimi bibimbap is delicious and it was only $ 10! The dish really hit the spot. Most restaurants charge about $ 15. I thought about getting one of their noodle dishes but will save that for next time.

I’ve been looking for a restaurant that specialize in Kimbap(or Gimbap, not sure which is correct). Thanks to Unilocal,I found this place! I got 4 rolls for take out — Beef, veggies, tuna and kimchi and took it to share with 10 or so people, and it was a great hit! Everyone loved the rolls and they asked where I got them from. The price for 4 rolls were around $ 23 and I thought it was a great deal. It tasted better than the ones you get at Korean grocery stores, probably because they make it right there when you order it. I’ll definitely go back to get more!

If you’re in the mood for Korean, this place will do. Several soups and noodle dishes, plus some simple rolls. Bi bim bap is on the bland side, I would rather get the dolostone version, extra crispy. There are a few unimpressive ramen dishes, but the udon is okay– one version available with a veggie roll side, another with tempura. No issues with service, just nothing really stood out as being very good or bad.

Today I had the best experience eating here. I came in at 4PM and the restaurant was empty. My bf was like why u pick this place theres nobody here and I was like bitch u slept til 3PM and normal people dont eat lunch at 4PM sheesh! He doubted my excellent Unilocaling skills lol Anyway I actually been here a few times and most of the time I’m whatever about it. But today service was top notch, the server spoke English!!! To me thats super important because everytime i go to an asian place, service always below average and most dont speak English fluently. My server did a good job making sure I was happy with my food and I did. I ordered bim bim bap $ 10.99, veggie roll $ 5 and my boo ordered some bbq beef with rice, which was a really tiny portion but he said it tasted good. We got the groupon 10 for 15 bucks and we ended up payin extra 13 bucks, not too bad! B+ for the food, A+ for the service! :)

Roll House looks more like a snack shack than a place to have a real meal. Menu is relatively cheap and would make college students happy. I came here close to closing time one night with the intent of eating some rolls. Sadly, I was informed that after 8:30pm, the kitchen stops making rolls so I had to settle for ramen instead. Ramen was okay only(hence two stars). Definitely helped to put tons of the complimentary kimchee in it though. Hopefully their rolls are much better than their ramen…
