I bought a Longines watch in this store and I was helped by Samir which is the manager. He was really helpful and friendly to customer by helping me look for a perfect fit watch based on my budget. When my watch have some scratches, I took it back and asked him to buffer it for me and he gave me for free without any charges. He also can give you a good interest on special financing. I would really recommend to buy watch from him because he is really good in taking care his customer relationship.

Got a really good deal on a pair of diamond studs. They even added the warranty on for free for my sister and I! Very nice :)

I have purchased a few thing here, diamond ring, wedding bands, diamond necklace, all of which are great quality and with excellent service every time. William, who is an expert in his trade, has been tremendous in assisting me with my diamond shopping and in resolving any issues I have.

Being a Robbin’s Brother’s loyal shopper for over 10 years, I am just BLOWN away by Samuel’s sales and quality jewelry. Moving from LA I was so bummed that I had to leave my Samuel’s behind, but when I found this location I was beyond happy with the service I received. My fiancé and I went shopping for many months searching for a diamond ring. We went through a plethora of stores in every corner of the Bay Area. Finally, we visited Samuels at the Wesfield shopping center in San Jose (Valley Fair). We were very lucky to meet William Youkhanna who greeted us with warmth and enthusiasm. He started asking questions about what we are exactly looking for. He really wanted to know us and made sure we understand the different types of diamonds. We were so grateful that at last we found an awesome jewelry store and a great representative in William Youkhanna. We had a budget in mind. We ended up purchasing the ring of our dream for a great price and special terms. Every few weeks, we get a call from William making sure that we are satisfied with the purchase and reminding us that he is there for us. William believes in building relationships with his clients by treating them well and adding value to their lives. My husband and I got married almost 9 years ago. We purchased my engagement ring and his band at Samuels. Not long after we got married, we moved out of state and just recently moved back to California. What a difference 9 years make. Staff is completely different and not to mention unhelpful and rude. I brought my engagement in for cleaning and inspection. Asked about getting my ring re-​sized but was offered no information as to how much, do you have the lifetime warranty (which I do), etc, etc, etc. My husband and I walked out of there wondering what the hell just happened. We have been talking about trading my ring in later down the line (which I can with the warranty) but now I’m thinking, thanks but no thanks. I don’t want to give my business to people who don’t really seem to care and is all about making a buck.

All I can say is wow. The staff seems to go out if their way to be rude.
They are semi helpful, but definitely opinionated and rude.

WILLIAM ROCKS for Service, honesty and integrity.
I have no idea what others are thinking, but my family has been in the Jewelry business for years, and since I am have been out on the West Coast I was looking for a good deal and helping out a local jeweler since our family was a small store.
I was looking for a simple diamond stud and WILLIAM showed me exactly what I wanted in the size color and clarity that I wanted.
Although what I wanted was something non GIA certified, William knew his stuff. Then again, he also knew that I knew my stuff also.
Got what I wanted at a fair and reasonable price.
Since referred him to several girlfriends who had a great experience with him.
I am thinking that the people that had problems had unrealistic expectations and did not have the background knowledge. It’s also often called buyer’s remorse.
I have seen this in our family business and it’s not uncommon.
What’s also uncommon is postive Unilocal Reviews.
It seems like the only people who post reviews are the negative individuals.
It’s to bad.

Before I get started, let me just say, if you do not care about how your diamond is certified and don’t really care about the quality of the diamond, then go ahead and walk into this store and check it out. However, I would still not recommend it for those who are searing for a lower quality ring because I felt cheated and lied to.
We were assisted by William. We tried on a wonderful setting that came with a ¾ carat diamond. It was $ 3,500. We wanted a full carat but we wanted H color quality with a SI1-​SI2 clarity quality at worst. He offered a diamond that had «just that.» Being young and naïve, we believed him. My boyfriend felt kind of rushed but we went through with the transaction since we thought it was honestly a good deal. The total was $ 7,500 out the door for a engagement ring + band + full carat. We also got to keep the ¾ carat the setting initially came with.
We called twice while the ring was getting re-​sized and cleaned and asked to make sure the quality was what he said since we didn’t have paperwork for it yet. We came back to drop off the down payment and headed home. As we drove home I noticed on the receipt that the quality was actually an I color and it was an I1-​I2 clarity. AND although he said there was certification/​paperwork, there was none!
I went back to cancel the transaction and the manager was really nice. He offered to give us a certified G quality and SI2 clarity diamond exchange with no extra charge. I was about to accept it when my dad called me and told me to ask the manager where my diamond was certified from. We found out NONE of their diamonds in their show case were certified from GIA. GIA is the top, most legit diamond certification company. If any other company certifies your diamond, you run the risk of your diamond being 1 – 2 grades lower than what they tell you.
We declined the managers offer and asked for a full refund. He wasn’t happy and it took awhile but we got it.
So for all of you who are seeking to buy a lovely ring:
1) Go to
and get your diamond education 101
2) Think about your budget and go to
to compare diamond prices.
3) If you think you will trade up one day for a bigger diamond, opt for a smaller diamond for now but make sure it’s GIA certified at an F quality with a VVS clarity.
4) If you know you will NEVER trade up your diamond, then you should consider going 1 – 2 grades lower. For example, instead of F quality, G and H will do just fine as well. (D E F are completely colorless diamonds, G H I are near colorless).

Samuel’s is not a jewelry store that will carry top notch GIA certified diamonds. They carry just kind of whatever diamonds. We decided that we may trade up diamonds one day and no longer wanted to work with them.
If you choose to give them a try:
1) Stay away from William and
2) Don’t believe the quality they give you/​check your receipt. If they tell you your diamond is a G quality, you should assume that it’s 1 – 2 grades lower than that even with their certification because it’s not GIA certified.
I’m giving them a 1 star because we were basically lied to and rushed into a transaction. William took advantage of us and we trusted him. It’s just not a business we want to work with.

I’ve never had such HORRIBLE customer service in my LIFE! High pressure sales, low quality diamonds, and RUDE!
I came in looking for a diamond wedding band, and was assisted by William. He tried to make me sign up for a credit line, which I totally didn’t need. He kept using typical sales lines, like «You deserve to treat yourself» and «You work hard, just do it!» He ended up giving me what I thought was a good price on a ring, so I purchased it. My mistake! He told me the diamonds were ¼ carat, GH color, SI clarity. The receipt read «¹⁄₁₀ TCW, GHI, I1.» I felt so cheated! I went back into the store to point out William’s mistake and he said, «You’re the second customer to walk back into the store today! I’m gonna shoot myself!» He tried to reassure me that the diamonds matched the specifications he verbalized to me, and that I shouldn’t be concerned with what the receipt says.
When I finally looked at the ring in sunlight the diamonds looked yellow, not white. I showed the ring to a couple of other jewelers and they said the diamonds were definitely J or K in color, NOT GHI. Even the diamonds that were rated IJ in other stores looked whiter than the ones rated GHI from Samuel’s Jewelers. When I went back to return the ring, William gave me attitude and said, «This is GH in color… what do you expect, a band with D color diamonds? Good luck finding that… how much whiter can you get than GH?» Then, he proceeded to try to sell me other bands his store with whiter diamonds. SERIOUSLY? He just told me that I would have trouble finding whiter diamonds!
I didn’t leave until I received a full refund, and will never set foot in that store again.

I was treated with absolute contempt while shopping for a ring
When I was looking for an engagement ring for my now-​wife, I did a lot of research. I wanted a diamond that was cruelty-​free (this was before the movie Blood Diamond, which has raised awareness a bit). And it was hard to find one. I was beginning to think I’d have to buy an estate ring.
In the process of looking for a ring, I remember going into Samuel’s and asking the associate where their diamonds were sourced. She gave me a look of pure hatred and said «New York». I clarified that I wanted to know where the diamonds were originally mined. By this time she was engaged in some activity and no longer even acknowledging me. Without looking at me she replied, «we don’t care where they come from originally. As far as we’re concerned they come from New York».
Wow.
I just said «ok, thank you» and walked out. I wound up buying a Canadian diamond at Ben Bridge down the strip.
Steer clear of this place at all costs. I don’t know why anyone would go there with so many better jewelers in Valley Fair.
