Silicon Valley Pet Clinic

I’m very happy with the service and prices of the Silicon Valley Pet Clinic. I have gotten quotes from other vets around and SVPC offers the best value! I took my dog in to get some growths removed and get this teeth cleaned. Dr. Gil was honest and did great work. One of the growths seemed benign from the moment he took it out. He did not send it to the lab because he strongly felt like it was nothing to worry about. The other growth we sent in because it did look off. He was honest and was not driven by money. As for my dogs teeth, there are so clean! i didn’t think they could get so clean. Dr. Gil is very responsive and he kindly follows up to make sure my dog is recovering well. Also, they are open late, which is a very nice perk when you work.

Dr Gill has been outstanding in terms of customer service.
My puppies had Parvo and he took the extra mile to make sure my puppies are taken care of during the holiday and weekends.
He is a very understanding and compassionate Doctor. I recommend him to anyone!

I needed to move my dogs to a vet that is closer to the house. One of my dogs has seizures (has had them for 10 years) and the other is pretty healthy but a very nervous/​shy dog. I found Dr Gill to be great with both animals. The shy dog let him touch her face (which is very rare).
We started with Lexie having her teeth cleaned and Snuffles having a growth removed from his leg. Both procedures, which included anesthesia, went without a hitch and I found the prices to be a little bit less than what I was quoted at other animal hospitals.
Since we were starting fresh he also recommended full panel blood tests to see where their health was (we hadn’t had that done in several years) — thank goodness because after 10 years of phenobarbital my dog with seizures liver numbers were through the roof. Dr Gill recommended we change him to KBr and put him on liver supplements. Since transitioning him off the phenobarb onto KBr my dog has more «pep in his step». It is great to see — he also has not had any seizures (fingers crossed).
Dr Gill took his time in explaining everything and answering any questions that I had in person and via the phone. I definitely recommend him for veterinarian services. I also love that they are open 7 days a week and have late hours.

I have finally found a great veterinarian for my dog Mickey. Dr. Gill made me feel welcomed and when I saw how relaxed Mickey was around him, I knew that Silicon Valley Pet Clinic was going to be perfect match to Mickey and I. Dr. Gill and his staff are very friendly. Dr. Gill took his time with Mickey, keeping him calm during the exam. Dr. Gill answered all my questions and made great recommendations to help improve and maintain my dog’s overall health. It feels great to know that I have found a healthcare partner for Mickey. I highly recommend Dr. Gill and Silicon Valley Pet Clinic!

Dr. Gill is the new doctor since mid Oct 2015 and is doing an amazing job. He is honest and caring and understanding. He really listens to you cause you know your pet better. Iv been to other places and all they care about is money but not Dr.Gill. He was willing to work with my budget and went above and beyond. i would def. Recommend going there.

Dr. Gill is one of two new vets at SVPC (Dr. Evans retired and sold his business). I took my dog to Dr. Gill for the first time this week and was very impressed with him. He’s younger than my previous vets were, but very knowledgeable. I told him about my dog’s digestive issues and after discussing several possible causes, we settled on a course of action for diagnosing the problem. He recommended a B12 blood test, which came back indicating a problem – I’d never heard of this test before, and I’m an experienced dog owner. I was impressed. Dr. Gill is very personable, easy to talk to, and willing to provide as much detail as you want. My dogs (I brought both to the office) were comfortable with him, and he related well with them. Also, they’re now open 7 days a week! I’m looking forward to a good, long relationship with this new vet.

The parking lot and the waiting room were both empty when I got there. Even so, I had to wait 5 – 10 minutes before anyone came up to the front to greet this new patient who had an appointment. The assistants were pleasant, and I explained the cat’s problems. My cat had not had shots for years, but no one seemed to care. The vet finally came in (after both the assistants had left) and did a cursory examination — took about 2 minutes. He immediately wanted to put the cat on a special allergy diet which, of course, had to be special ordered from them. I’d done a lot of research on the cat’s symptoms, and there were a large number of things it could have been. When pressed, he suggested X-​rays. I had to ask them to give her shots, Overall, I felt the vet was dismissive and rude and not terribly interested in what he was doing, and certainly not interested in the cat. Maybe he’s better with dogs, but I certainly won’t be going back here. ~$ 100 for 2 shots and a mediocre exam — even after the senior discount. The cat and I won’t be going back.
Look at the dates on the reviews — this place has recently changed hands, and the good reviews are all for the previous vet. Don’t be deceived.
Edit: Today I find that they’ve placed me on a mailing list for a company that wants me to buy my pet’s medications online. I guess the exams come with free spam. Downgrading it to one star.

New vet Dr. Evans is great with our greyhound. She is extremely skittish and he makes her feel comfortable. The office is really clean and new now. The staff there is also very nice. It’s easy to get an appointment. I fully recommend Dr. Evans and Silicon Valley Pet Clinic.

Dr Evans & Staff are the greatest. Brought my min pins there for years and wow what a difference a new owner makes. The «new» remodeled clinic is beautiful, fresh and clean. I highly recommend Dr. Evans and his staff — they have been more than fair in their pricing for my Butchie’s surgery, and his recent ER. Their TLC for animals (and people too) — is genuine!

Dr. Campbell sold business. New owner/​vet is here from March 1, 2014. It seems remodeling going on now — business is open. They said they will keep the same includes pricing (I hope too).
No doctor available for appointment between noon and 2 p.m., no more Saturday, 8:30(?) to 5 is business hours Monday through Friday, receptionist said, as changes from March 2014.
I sometime pick up medication or documents on Saturday morning, but I need to go during business hours on weekdays.

Office: Run down older building. The waiting room is kept mostly clean, though cluttered.
The exam rooms are fine. Neither clean nor dirty seeming.
The back rooms are lined with slumped biohazard bags along the walls, used towels, and implements strewn wherever they landed. The hair on the grooming room floor was from several different pets in billowing piles, so they aren’t too strict about tidying up. I don’t think I would feel comfortable sending my pets for surgery here unless i had no better option.
After visiting more «professional» seeming clinics throughout the bay, I can’t understand the mess. I don’t think pets would be seriously harmed by any of this mess and detritus, but it is highly unprofessional. It doesn’t inspire confidence, certainly. The staff don’t seem too worried about personal hygiene and grooming either, which is different than most local vet clinics.
However, the mess aside, Dr. Campbell is very knowledgable and matter-​of-​fact. If your pet is sick because of something you are doing, she will tell you so. If you choose to continue making your pet sick/​crippled, yes she will likely get annoyed with you (as she should!). If you just need basic routine care for your pets, you are in educated and safe hands. But she will expect you to be a partner in keeping your pet healthy, perhaps more so than other docs might. I just can’t recommend this clinic setting for more serious medical procedures.

very friendly. i was worried cuz i read a lot of negative comments here. they say she is more of a dog person, yet there is a cat in the lobby. hmm.
anyway, my cat was calm and happy. he didnt fret too much. she took a liking to him as did everyone else. what can i say, i have a gem.
it was very inexpensive for the amount of shots my lil guy got done.
the only complaint i have is that they said i needed to come in for a booster shot, but they didnt specify when i needed to come in for that. so i never knew. i assumed they would email me or something. but it didnt happen.

Many years later and I want to say how much I appreciate the care and love Dr. Campbell provides to her patients and their human care givers.

Dr. Erin (as we call her in our house) and her staff are excellent and true animal lovers!
SVPC has been taking care of our two cats since they were babies and Dr. Erin actually introduced us to our sweet silly dog after she rescued our girl when her first owner died (long story)!
Dr. Erin is extremely knowledgeable; her advice is always reasonable and succinct, but she isn’t dismissive or condescending and will totally answer your questions and provide suggestions if you want them.
Our animals really like her and she puts them and us at ease. Also, while she might be a bit brusque for some people, she actually has a really nice and wry sense of humor.

Absolutely one of the best pet clinics ! Friendly and knowlegdeable stuff, they literally go an extra mile for you and accomodate you as much as they can. Highly recommend !

I took my cat to get a check-​up and booster shots done. The staff and doctor were very kind and very capable of handling my cat. My cat gets really moody outside of our house and they made it a quick and painless experience for him.
Would definitely recommend!

My dog and I have been going to Silicon Valley Pet Clinic for 3 years now. At first, I was not too fond of Dr. Erin Campbell because she was not overly friendly with me but over the years she has proved to be comfortable with my dog and an advocate for his optimal treatment. She is not a people person, she is a dog person. If you expect someone to smooze you, you are not going to get that. However, my dog is defensive aggressive and leash reactive. Meaning that he is scared of most new people and dogs and shows that with nipping at calves and growling at dogs. Christina and Dr. Campbell know that about him and do not hold it against him. In fact, he has never growled or tried to bite them because they are calm and know how to treat animals. So, at the end of the day, what is more important? How the vet treats the owner or how the vet treats your dog?
On many occasions, Christina and Erin have shown that they are sensitive to both my dog’s needs and my budget. They do not say I need expensive xrays and tests when there are cheaper options first. That is not to say they put my dog’s health at risk but that they weigh the costs and benefits of each treatment with both the dog’s symptoms and the owner’s budget.
Overall, I am very happy with Erin Campbell’s service and the people she employs. Christina is an especially good employee. She cares a good deal about my dog and quirks.

I’d been going to Adobe Animal Hospital for my cats (who have now both passed) for years. Adobe’s scale of facilities gave an impression of modernity that instilled confidence. But every time I’d go to Adobe I’d see a different vet; it seemed like with every set of visits the last vet I’d seen was no longer with the hospital — high turnover and little continuity. I always thought I was getting decent vets, but I never really knew their pet type focus or veterinary specialties. Adobe is so expensive — it requires and charges for an office visit for every little thing and generally seems to charge a premium for both services and medications.
I recently adopted a retired racing Greyhound and with it discovered Doctor Campbell and her crew of dog lovers.
In stark contrast to Adobe, with Silicon Valley Pet Clinic and Erin Campbell, small is beautiful. The facilities are cozier. Dr. Campbell and her staff know who you and your pet are right away and forever. Dr. Campbell is the one vet you see every time. She loves dogs and breeds and shows Whippets, knows her stuff, has a direct, pragmatic bedside manner, and offers very affordable prices for her services. If you have a Greyhound, she’s recognized as an expert in the breed by the largest Greyhound rescue organization in the Bay Area. She’s affordable. I saw her right in front of me scrutinize the classification for some work she did for my dog, directing her assistant/​technician to categorize it under a description that cost less to me. Her technicians just this week recommended a generic brand of heart worm medication that is identical to but much cheaper than the branded version. And her technicians themselves are dog lovers and knowledgeable about both medicine and training. Overall, I have tremendous confidence in and I like this clinic very much.
The only potential drawback to this intimacy is that because it’s so intimate, I’m not sure what my options are after hours should an emergency arise — and I simply plan to ask them how they operate next time I see them.
I’m not just likely to recommend Dr. Campbell — I’ve already told two friends to check out this clinic next time they need to see a vet.

Unilocal! I read some bad reviews on Dr. Campbell. It seems to me those people who wrote bad reviews sound like «monster parents» of bratty kids. When people are told the” truth”, they don’t take it well. I think she is a honest person, and sometimes honesty is hard to accept. In this «everything you say could potential become a law suit» age, it is hard to find person who speaks her mind. Animals can’t talk, vets are talking on their behalf. These vets must have seen enough animals to see some pattern in their behavior. I would listen to these honest vets first. I think they charge reasonable fee, too. You don’t need fancy office as long as it is pretty clean. I think the office is tidy enough.

I was not a fan of the aggressive and condescending vet. The office was dirty and worn down and when we entered the vet sat at the front desk threatening her own dog that she had tied up a few feet away from her that was getting fussy and wanted to be closer to her.
I understand that not every vet may agree with the dietary plan my dog is on, but I would have enjoyed a conversation about it much more than the gunfire of statements about how I’ve made the wrong decision. Raising a differing opinion on my dog’s diet was met with anecdotal stories to prove the point that I’m killing my dog, and I don’t appreciate people using guilt to prove their point.
I was not a fan of this vet at all, and didn’t experience anything close to the amazing experiences that others have had, and I won’t be returning.
