Finally tried this, but was a bit disappointed in the product. We got 5 or so little sweet potatoes(great value) but all of them were undercooked and not very tasty. Maybe we caught them on an off day, so will try again.

I finally came here with my friend for the first time and boy I’m glad I did. The sweet potato stand man is so sweet; he said«one extra potato for this beautiful lady». I didn’t catch it until my friend told me later on. Oops sorry! He had a thick Korean accent We are pretty much everything on our way back to work. He wasn’t gonna eat most of it but ended up eating 2 out of 4.(We got 3 pc one but plus 1 for free). Def. eat them while they are HOT! I ate my last one(I ate one in the car while driving with my friend assisting me) at my work and it didn’t taste the same. But I still love their sweet potatoes! And best of all, I didn’t pay for it thanks to my good friend!

All about this place. Love the concept. And it smells AMAZING. We usually grab a bag of 6 for $ 4 to use as a side for dinner… and always snack on one each on the drive home. They’re just too good to not eat right away. Add butter if you can… ooooohhhhyyaaaaa.

This lady came 10 seconds before us bought a ton. So we had to wait in the bitter cold. But it was so worth it. These sweet potatoes are super delicious and perfectly snack sized! Although I could eat like 5 in a row.

I came here because it made the Unilocal Top 100 for the US and this place did not disappoint. There’s a tiny little stall and you get Japanese yams cooked in a weird grill/barbecue with tubes that slide in and out, but they are amazing. They have more in common with crème brûlée than any potato I’ve ever had. They’re also basically free, I can’t remember if it was 3 potatoes for for $ 4 or 4 potatoes for $ 3, but the idea is the same. You can get a whole meal for less than $ 10 and it’s all delicious.

For all the Sweet Potato fans out there, it is definitely worth a visit to the little Sweet Potato Stall. It may be hard to notice at first because it’s very small. The location is to the right of Paris Baguette and you will see a glowing neon sign if they are open for business. The quality of their sweet potatoes were great. Warm, sweet, and just like any other sweet potato. But size was a bit on the small end for what they offer. I wish they were a bit bigger in size but since they sell in quantities, I guess numbers make up for the lack of size. If I am ever craving sweet potatoes and want them quick, I’d go here. But if you have the extra time to cook them yourself, perhaps visiting a grocery and buying a LARGE sized sweet potato would be worth the bang for your buck.

I always stop by when I’m in the area! Inexpensive and so yummy! Sweet potato is served in a brown bag directly from the roasted! First impression is okay just any other sweet potato, but when you start peeling off the skin and take your first bite it’s like heaven! So nice and soft and just melts in your mouth! Wish I can eat go everyday and pick some up for me and my daughter, she love it as well!

So naturally sweet and nutritious. Perfect for a handheld snack and they come out piping hot. I bought 3 for $ 2.

This place gets a lot of great reviews, but be warned it is just a sweet potato stall. There is nothing special about it. The smell it gives off is better than the potatos it sells. People are rating it highly to be kitsch and hip. They sell roasted chestnuts in the fall.

This is a very tasty snack — you already know this from other reviews. Very reasonably priced and very tasty. But if you would like the real fun of eating it. the«Indian Chaat» style, follow these steps: 1. Order a couple and take them home 2. Peel and cut them into bite sized pieces in a bowl 3. Add some«chaat masala»(available at Indian stores — don’t add if you don’t like spicy food, just add salt in that case) 4. Pour some lemon juice and mix it all well 5. Serve hot(or re-heat a little in microwave) 6. Experience foodgasms! This is the Delhi street chaat style of eating this amazing snack :) Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Do you ever watch those kung fu movies where the wandering martial artist is super poor and has to eat like half a sweet potato off the ground as his only sustenance for days? Well, I ate 7 of these over a two day span, and I’m still craving more. These sweet, earthy nuggets of simplicity and warmth are a must-try, so flying kick your way down to Santa Clara for a taste… it’s worth it.

Not bad. I can see why this place is popular – cute little hut, interesting antique oven, warm sweet potatoes, low prices, nice owner – what’s there not to like? But still, 5 stars? That a little too much I think. The sweet potatoes were ok – they are just the right size, the skin peels off pretty nicely, and the potatoes are, indeed, sweet and potatoe’y mushy. There’s also a smokey smell and flavor that clearly came from being cooked in the special oven. Not a bad deal(3 potatoes for $ 2) But still, it’s just sweet potatoes guys. Granted, the sweet potatoes are roasted nicely, with just the right amount so that it’s not over or under cooked. But still, it’s just sweet potatoes y’all!

The stall is right outside the Galleria Market. Nothing fancy about it or the sweet potatoes, but I think that’s part of why everyone loves it. No salt or herbs or anything. Great for a quick, healthy and filling snack. The sweet potatoes taste best when they’re fresh and warm, and they smell amazing. $ 2 for 3 sweet potatoes. The man who was working the day I stopped by gave me and my mom an extra, which he apparently does frequently. Not sure if it’s because some sweet potatoes are smaller or if it’s because you can’t share 3 evenly between 2 people, but that’s pretty nice of him either way.

Besides yummy sweet potatoes, I love how friendly they are. I was walking towards the stall, and the worker turned to the oven and was ready for me with a huge smile. I was surprised that he knew I was coming. Maybe wash the potatoes a bit cleaner so that we can eat the skins. Sometimes it’s a little sandy to eat the skins, but they are so chewy and so good to eat.

Roasted, caramelized sweet potatoes… yum! I would crave this Korean comfort food(in this case, vegetables) once in a while. A healthy, filling and delicious snack sold at a very reasonable price: $ 2 for 3. The nice ahjushi would also throw in some extras! The sweet potatoes taste best when they’re still hot. And oh, try eating them with kimchee — it’s gOoOd, hehe!

Bottom line at the top: roasted sweet potato goodness! – This place is sooo good(located right in front of a supermarket). This is really common street food in a lot of countries overseas so it definitely appeals to a lot of South Bay residents I asked for the smallest size(3 pieces for $ 2, cash only), and the sweet mother/daughter(I think) team working quickly gave me a bag with 4 pieces. Yum yum yum, super healthy and delicious snack.

Hmm, okay, why all the fantabulous reviews? Could it be that half the people reviewing have never eaten sweet potatoes in this manner and therefore find it novel? Or for the others, is it because this is literally the only place you can get sweet potatoes in the area? Just speculating, because my sweet potatoes were spectacularly dull. One of them was painfully dry and could’ve choked a donkey, and the others were a bit softer and lightly sweet, but certainly not drool-worthy. But then again, I’ve had some pretty sacred experiences with sweet potatoes. I vividly remember as a child living in rural Taiwan eating my first sweet potato, purchased from a vendor near the fields. Remarkably caramelized, oozing with its own sugary sap, almost naturally buttery. Oh sweet divine. Although I’ve never quite returned to that hallowed ground, I dare to say that ten out of ten sweet potatoes vendors on the streets of China taste superior to the offering I tasted here. No qualms whatsoever with the service. Kind middle-aged woman«manning» the booth rather than the old man others have described. Perhaps she is his disciple and hasn’t quite mastered the skill? Well, it was cheap enough that I’ll have to come back to make sure it wasn’t a fluke…

The only place I’ve ever eaten where the name of the establishment could also double-up as the only available menu item… I can confirm, yes these are sweet potatoes. I can also confirm that this was probably the best damn sweet potato I’ve ever had in my entire life. Never thought of a Sweet Potato as something to snack-on when on-the-go. I’m guessing though that without that trippy oven(that looks like an incinerator for dead smurfs), that should I attempt to make these at home, they somehow wouldn’t turn out right. That being said, I’ll leave the sweet potato cooking to the experts…(not to mention that @ 3 for $ 2, why bother?) What made my visit even more enjoyable was that the older gentleman manning the booth was decked out in Suit-Shorts & a Blazer(à la –Sonny Crockett), a matching Fedora & blasting INOJ, «I Want To Be Your Lady Baby» on the radio… Nice touch & for that alone, I shall be back…
