The Tile & Grout King

We just used Tile and Grout King for our master bathroom remodel and we couldn’t be happier with the work we received! Hany was quick to respond and answered any question we had. They were easy to work with and did a beautiful job!

My kitchen and Laundry room look super nice. Your workers pay so much attention to detail that I felt like I was doing the job for myself. Just wanted to say what an amazing experience I had with the Tile and Grout King based out of Santa Clara in the Bay Area. They worked on a rental of my moms in Foster City. All the tiles were coming off the showers walls due to wrong adhesive long ago from last install. They redid everything and were reasonably priced, professional, quick and on time. Hany Louis, the COO, managed the effort beautifully.

Tile and grout king came February 4^th and 5^th and prepared two holes in the shower walls after plumbing repairs, totally rebuilding the inside structure of the wall and completely sealing and waterproofing before placing the tiles and doing the grouting. After doing an outstanding job, They totally cleaned everything even the mirrors after the restoration work. February 8^th. Tile and grout King came back to regrout a bathroom floor and counter top. The employee totally cleaned and recaulked around the tub and all corners and edges of the shower area. After another fabulous job and cleanup
I couldn’t be happier. I feel so lucky to have been able to have them do this work. They are very thorough, reliable, careful, and professional and a joy to have doing work at the house.

I had good luck with these guys. They gave me a good quote to begin with, not quite the cheapest, but they seemed best prepared for any eventuality. Turns out a couple loose tiles was an indication that the previous installers had used an organic adhesive on regular wall-​board and all had to be replaced. Luckily, we had requested that possibility in the quote up-​front and they were quickly able to transition from a quick fix to a full demo and install and keep it inside what was quoted.
Alex and his team were clean, quiet, and diligent. He let me know what was going on and how long it would take and in the end, everything looks great.

I really wanted this to work out. We hired them based on a good referral to regrout a sink/​counter, floor and clean the shower tile… all with pristine tile. First, they chipped a few tiles on the vanity in very obvious places and I think they tried to cover it up and I found later as I wiped away the horrible gloppy grout job. Also, I asked them if they had sealed the grout but I am not sure they understood what I was asking and it was not done (or at least not how I thought it should be) as I noticed when I was able to wipe off the excessive gloppy grout (2 days later) and expose the 2 large chips. The grout was uneven and bumpy/​gloppy in spots. There is grout up the wall because they put grout on the baseboard where they were supposed to put caulk. Not at ALL what I expected. UPDATE 1: Their manager Brendan was VERY GOOD and responsive. He came out and saw the poor work and chipped tile, cleaned up what he could and set up time for another «good» guy to come and clean up the bigger mess. UPDATE 2: This supposed «good» guy did come out and do a good job on what he ACTUALLY cleaned up… BUT there was again a HUGE language barrier. We verified multiple times EVERYTHING that he needed to do. and he nodded as though he understood… BUT THEN HE JUST LEFT without completing the work. We called Brendan and he had no explanation but did call them and get them to come back and finish. UGHH! Tile & Grout King needs to work on hiring better tradesmen who can communicate and do quality/​complete work (and NOT use their lack of English speaking skills to take advantage of people). I would not recommend these guys. I think Brendan should find a job with a more reputable company.

Really excellent experience with Tile and Grout King this morning. Kurt showed up on time, got to work right away, and went above and beyond to deliver a great customer experience.
We had two specific problems in our shower: a cracked tile, and some old/​missing grout. Kurt removed the old tile, replaced it with a new one (that I had on-​hand), cleaned the tile thoroughly, and then re-​grouted a lot of the old and missing grout. Then he caulked all the way around the tub, and even cleaned and re-​caulked our sink (which was totally unexpected).
Kurt was incredibly nice and friendly, explained what he would do, how long it would take, and overdelivered. I will call these guys next time I need any tiling work done.

These guys are excellent. Extremely high level of detail, quiet, polite, professional. I will hire them again. Relative to other tile installation companies in the area, this company is a standout!

Our upstairs bathroom was just completed by The Tile and Grout King. Haney Louis did the estimate and it was itemized and professionally done. Haney was always available by cell for any questions. The tile contractor, Carlos was extremely professional and his workmanship was done to perfection. Plumbing was done the same day as demo, 1 day early! Fabrication of the slab was also completed on time and done well. The crew was very efficient and cleaned up every day and left my floors and stairs spotless. We highly recommend their work. There are other projects we are planning, kitchen counters and a fireplace reface. We will hire them in the future.

The finished product turned out amazing but what mostly pleased me with my experience was interaction with the owner. Having worked with contractors in the past has made me realize how easy Hany made the whole thing for me. He was approachable, knowledgeable and accessible. It was truly a pleasure.

W had a really bad ‘mold’ problem in the Master Shower. It was getting worse and worse. Finally got sick and tired of trying to eliminate this on my own. So started looking for a company that specializes in dealing with mold.
The first company tried but couldn’t take care of the mold — said it had some sort of sealer on the grout so they stopped.
So tried my contractor’s tile man. He came over — said very bad problem and mold had probably gotten behind the tiles. What? As a result, said he would have to tear all the tile out and replace it — $ 5,000
After these experiences — it was time to look for a professional at Diamond Certified company. And, am glad I did.
Asked Tile and Grout to come by and look at the problem.
Tile and Grout representative, Brendan showed up ‘on time’. An immediate good impression. He was professional and courteous. We went to the bathroom and he said, bad, but not too bad. He identified a solution of removing the grout and replacing it with new. grout. Was pleased with his recommendation /​solution.- no remodeling.
While walking to the entrance, I mentioned another concern of mine. We had remodeled the kitchen two years ago and some of the grout was looking brown, close to the sink. He knew immediately what the problem was — pourse grout that let water products go into the grout — thus the change in color.
His solution was acceptable — excellent in fact — put a sealer on the grout that would then make a surface that would make the water products stay on the surface — just like the tile does. So I decided to do this as well
We scheduled a day — two and a half weeks out. A time when my wife and daughter would be out of town. (a surprise for my wife)
Tile and Grout ‘s ’ 3′ workers showed up on time — something rare in the construction trade. The team started to work soon thereafter. They knew exactly what needed to be done — as Brendan was specific with his instructions.
The team moved swiftly in tackling the jobs. I stayed out of the bathroom as full with two workers in there. However, I watched the man do the grouting in the kitchen and entry way. He was down on his hands and knees maliciously putting the sealer onto the grout — what a tedious job.
At the end of the first day, a lot of progress had been made. And what the team completed was amazing. The second day, one worker showed up and finished what was remaining.
I am very pleased with the excellent outcome of the work performed. The results were beyond my expectation. And, was very pleased with the clean up.
When my wife returned home — I told her I had something new to show her. We went to the Master Bath and she immediately noticed the change. She said «it was beautiful — it looks like a new shower ! «
I’m so glad I chose Tile and Grout King to do the jobs. «5» Stars in my book…
(note: soon thereafter a spell — and true to Brendan’s words the solution stayed on the surface — made for an easy clean up.)

If you want cheap and average cleaning, then Tile & Grout King is for you. I unfortunately needed a real pro. We moved our family out of the house including all our furniture. Scheduling got messed up (as much our fault as T&GK’s) but then we had to wait another week for them to do the work before we could move back in — at great expense and hassle. The work was «average». We did have to have them come back a day to redo one of the tile floors. Again if you want someone to wash your floors they’re probably OK. But if you’re looking for true restoration and deep cleaning they have no clue of what they are doing.

I had these guys re-​grout and seal my marble tile bathroom, and had to have them back out to fix one area. They did a good job in the first place, and they arrived the next day after I called them about the need for a fix. They fixed it on the spot and it looks great. I would definitely use them again.

My wife and I initially hired them to re-​grout and seal the tile in our bathrooms — which they did a great job. If we were talking about that alone, it would be a 5-​star review!
We were so impressed that we also had them re-​tile our kitchen backsplash, install a granite countertop, and add stone /​slate to our fireplace.
In each phase of the project there were issues with the quality and attention to detail. My impression is that some of their workers are very skilled while others appear to be inexperienced. For example, the backsplash tile setter didn’t level the walls properly — so there was buckling and visible gaps.
To their credit, Hany and Ramy did their best to fix the issues — but at times they were indifferent, unapologetic, and even defensive. It would have been an entirely different experience for us had they immediately owned up to the mistakes and worked quickly to resolve them.
Ultimately, we are 80% satisfied with the results even though some aspects of the project were clearly outside their expertise. My two-​star rating reflects the overall customer experience, time, and effort it took get to the finish line.
Note that we worked with them two years ago, so they may have addressed these quality issues.

I had used The Tile and Grout King many years ago to install our marble tile in the kitchen and bathroom. Now that it was time to remodel we reached out and had them come to our new kitchen backsplash. The team that came out were incredibly punctual, incredibly clean, and incredibly GOOD! The backsplash came out beautiful. Thank you!

Tile and Grout King is awesome. We have used them for entryway and kitchen in two different houses and they do a fantastic job and are competitively priced.
We will definitely use them again when we do our bathrooms!

Not only was Hany super responsive but he was able to do my kitchen backsplash on super short notice. Then his guys showed up on time and were very nice and thorough. I appreciate that they really went the extra mile to make sure the job was done right putting a backer board so everything would be even. This took them a lot of extra time and I was only charged $ 70 extra. This wasn’t the cheapest quote but this type of thoroughness and integrity is what makes this company stand out!

Great service! How can anyone say no to permanent grout sealer that has a 10 year warranty! All the guys we worked with were professional and efficient. The price was competitive as well.

I’m bumping up my review a star because of Hany’s excellent customer service. He know I wasn’t satisfied with the attempted granite report his company provided so he offered to pay another contractor to finish the work.
I went and hired another contractor that specializes in countertop repair and Hany came out and agreed that the repair job was great. And Hany paid the contractor on the spot.
I’m only giving a 4 star review because I still have drywall damage that I will fix in a later date. But to be fair I did not ask Hany to repair it since I was more concerned with the granite.

TGK came to fix the grouting in our bathroom and kitchen, Within a few days, the grout was breaking up in several different places. We asked them to come back and fix it, which they did (for no extra charge). Same thing happened again.
I wouldn’t choose to hire these people again.
