Chantilly Bridal & Mr Tux

I bought my wedding dress here, and this place definitely has it’s positive and negative points.
The negative:
— did not have my dress altered & ready for pick up when pick up date was clearly stated at the first appointment.
— did not contact me to let me know dress wasn’t ready. Took an hour long trip out to Santa Clarita for nothing.
— had to remind owner to add cups to the dress after the owner realized the seamstress did not add them even though I paid extra
Positives:
— beautiful dresses selling wayyy below retail prices
— owner gives customer all the time/​attention you need to find the dress
–Walk ins welcome
— the seamstress is a doll and did an awesome job tailoring the dress to fit me
Tip: the owner is curt. So have a good friend with you when you go, otherwise it’s not a big deal.
Just check this place out, it’s definitely not as bad as all these one star reviews from two years ago say it is.

Would give zero stars if I could. Went for bridesmaid dresses for my sister. We have to look early because I don’t live in the same state. They were annoyed and rolled their eyes constantly. We were there for 30 minutes. Not worth it.

I don’t know why I see so many bad reviews for Mr Tux. I have been going to this place for 25 years and have always had amazing service. I was there yesterday getting a Tux for my friends wedding and was trying on different combo’swhen Sergio said he had something in his storage that would look perfect on me. I went and grabbed some coffee, got my truck washed and headed back in an hour.
Not only did the vest fit perfectly it really made the tux pop! Now that’s service. Mr Tux and Chantilly Bridal has been in business for 40 years. Plus everyone knows how hard it is to deal with bridezillas!

Horrible! I really can’t believe this was my first experience with trying on wedding dresses. As others have already said when I first walked into the store there was no «hello» or «welcome» all I received was a paper in my face which I was told to fill out. Afterwards I was led to the back where the bridal gowns where located. We got to the back room and all of the lights were off and she began to ask questions to see what I wanted. She kept looking at me telling me what I wanted would not work for me and said that I would only look good in a huge cupcake type dress. As I stood there going back and forth with her explaining I did not want that type of dress she had to take a call up front and left me with a young girl to help me. My friend and I picked out some dresses then was told lets go try on. FINALLY the lights came on so I could see myself in the dressing room. The girl just stood there staring at me in the dressing room not a very comfortable feeling. So we pick a dress to try on and she starts shoving over my head, it gets stuck and it took about 5 mins to get the thing off me! I asked her «what size is this??» and she says «I don’t know let me look…2». She is trying to shove me in a size 2 dress when realistically I am a 14! And she continues to try and stuff me into dresses that are way WAY too small until I say that’s enough. Then the other lady comes in and starts saying how this is all wrong, that I need to have the huge cupcake dresses in here. She pulls in two and won’t stop telling me that I cannot wear anything else it will all look bad on me. So I just try one since I haven’t even had one dress on yet. Well the dress was huge but at least I could see it on me. The girl starts pinning it back and is trying to give me the mermaid shape I came in for. I was surprised that she was able to give the shape I wanted but of course it would be a lot of alterations to get to that point. Now the other lady comes back in again, she frowns and runs over to me saying no no no this is not good for you at all and undoes everything the girl had pinned back and makes it a huge cupcake dress again. I tell her two more times I DO NOT WANT A HUGE DRESS! I was so mad at this point at having someone tell me what I can and cannot wear when it is clearly not what I want and trying to make me feel bad about my body I said «aright I am done!» and left!

This place is HORRIBLE!!! I went in with every intention to buy my wedding dress here since it was so close to my house. The only nice person that worked there was the lady that helped me, i believe her name was megan. The owner is extremely rude and not helpful at all. I eventually decided to go somewhere else for my dress, and ever since then they keep calling my cell phone harrassing me about when I’m going to come in next. Even after i told them, one i have already gotten married and two that i was no longer going to buy from them, they still keep calling. I would not recommend them to anyone.

First I would give this store a –10! Chantilly Bridal was the worst bridal store I have been to by far! When I first walked in the owner looked at me, didn’t even smile and said fill out the form. Definitely a horrible way to greet a customer. The girl that was helping me after I filled the form out was nice but not experienced in wedding dresses at all. I asked if they carried David Tutera wedding dresses and she had no clue what I was talking about. I had googled where his line was carried and it clearly stated Chantilly Bridal on Lyons ave. As I walked into the area they had the wedding dresses I noticed it said no pictures!!! I was shocked when I saw this. Its not like Chantilly’s has amazing dresses… most bridal stores have the same dresses! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CHANTILLY BRIDAL AT ALL!!! IF YOU WANT A GREAT EXPERIENCE GO TO CRUZ’S BRIDAL!!!

the ONLY thiing i liked was the son, who is there some of the time, (younger guy) who is real nice, helpful, friendly, and does what he can
besides that (which is the one star) everything else is hell!
we went to try on my tux, and the pants had a huge tear in the croch area… so we asked for another pair which the son was fine, but they didnt have the same size, so i had to wear a pair of pants 4 inches bigger to my Senior Prom, the whole time stoping to pull up my pants every step i took.
my vest was loose, and the thing to tighten it was broken/​ripped and dangling out the side. my tie was dirty on both sides with dirt and who knows what stains.
the button shirt they gave me had one sleeve ending 3 inches above my wrist, and the other sleeve ending 1.5 in above,.WTF
and a week before when i went in to get my tie/​vest colors, the old man helped me and was a total ass and rude about everything
all my friends who got the tux there too hated it and had issues.
one friend wasnt given a handkerchief, didnt have matching colors, and his shoe soles fell off half way through the night
another also had issues with the shirt, the jacket, and old man was rude
this place is not recommended at all

I, like most brides, had a point of freak out! Mine was involving my previously purchased wedding dress from Davids Bridal! They were the rudest people in not only one store, but 2 out of the 3 I went to!
That’s when i decided to try Chantilly’s which is less than a mile from my home. I was a bit nervous after reading all of the terrible reviews from this site but after my experience i want to be one of the first positive reviews.
It was only 3 months till my wedding and the dress i had previously purchased was not the dream i though it was. I went with my Mom and we explained the story to their sales lady, Lilly. She was so kind and explained that there was not enough time to purchase a dress so i would have pick one off the rack “as is“ things were not looking good, or so i thought!
I tried on 10 dresses and it took about an hour and a half. They did not rush me, there was no hour time limit, like everywhere else. I got really lucky and found a beautiful A line tank top style dress. It had makeup stains and a few beads unhinged here and there. I was worried that I was going to have to take it to another alterations place to fix it since “as is“ was what I was told at the beginning. Sergio said that because it was a dress from his store he takes pride and would never let a dress leave looking like that. A seem-​stress that works on site there fitted me immediately. The dress had a train that needed to be bustled as well. So since thins were lucky so far this is where i thought the bomb would drop, with the alterations price. To my surprise it was approx 150 dollars for a hem line and French bustel, the same thing at Davids was going to cost me 300.
I made a date to come back for my final fitting and they had a room waiting for me when i had arrived! The seem-​stress did not only a wonderful job, she showed my Mom and i how to Bustle the dress, which with that much dress, took patience! she even color coded the strings which held up the bustle in the back so there was less to figure out on the day of!
The pick up day: They fixed all the loose beads and dry cleaned the dress back to its sparking white, no more makeup stains! Sergio, the owner, actually walked the dress all the way to my car on the other side of the parking lot. After reading all the reviews on Sergio he must be taking the criticism to heart because he was nothing but nice to me.
I also had my bridesmaids buy their dresses from there. The only complaint I had was one of my bridesmaids fit perfectly in a dress in the store and a different lady, who was not the seem-​stress, did the measurements. Whatever was ordered was slightly small in the butt area and the zipper kept bunching up at the rear area making her feel like she had gained weight which was most defiantly not the case. So rule of thumb, have them order a size bigger no matter what they insist because it can always be altered to become smaller!

Worst service I have ever experienced. BEWARE. I would give them 0 stars if I could. The owner is complete asshole. I rented my groom’s suit as well as the groomsmen’s suits from them. I wanted the groom’s suit to be light tan/​ivory and the groomsmen to have darker tan suits. The owner insulted me (the bride) by telling me that my idea was stupid and I was silly. He told me I was tacky and my wedding would look better if they all wore black. I stayed my ground and ordered the ivory/​tan suits.
The guys went to pick up the suits 2 days before the wedding and they were worn out and dirty. Not dirty in a way that you could clean them, but dirty like they were stained from years of wear and tear. My 18-​year-​old brother wasn’t allowed to put his suit on in the store, so he went home to try it on. The pants were too short and the jacket had shoulder pads that stuck out so far he looked like Frankenstein. He called the store and spoke to the owner who told him he was being «too picky» and to «get over it». My brother and my mom went into the store immediately after to have it fixed.
The ONLY saving grace about this horrific shop is the owner’s son, Sergio, Jr. He apologized for his rude father repeatedly and told us he would handle it personally. He also told them his father was retiring soon (this was May 2010) but he is still working there today. I hope they go out of business.
ZERO STARS. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK OR REFER ANYONE THERE.

This review is more towards Mr. Tux and Sergio the owner and I would give him zero stars if it was possible. We took all of our groomsmen in to look at tuxes and get fitted 6 weeks before our June wedding. What we experienced was the WORST customer service ever, it was shocking. He was visibly grumpy and frustrated with Prom season, which is what was explained to us as the excuse. He snapped at me twice when I was asking questions about the colors for our wedding when my Father had to correct him about his tone and the way he was speaking to me. We were bullied the entire appointment to the point where the guys just wanted to get it done and over with so we booked with them instead of walking out… a big mistake. Sergio had mentioned that the color we wanted was possilby discontinued but to prevent us from leaving, he had promised that he could get the Teal color we wanted but that he would know in 2 days.
2 days passed and I had huge reservations regarding not only the color being available but booking with Mr. Tux altogether. I called Sergio to make sure he had the Teal for us and his retort was «You do not listen! You give me no time to check!» I told him that he told us 2 days and it had been 2 days. He told me I have no patience and I must call back. With that being the second time he had yelled at me and been horribly rude, I decided to cancel with him. He did not deserve our business (or to be IN business at all for that matter).
I took my father with me in case he got mean again because I don’t like confrontation, or Sergio. We asked him about the color again before we said anything about cancelling and he told us «NO I already told you it was discontinued!» No longer shocked by his beligerant attitude and lack of customer service we told him he we were cancelling and he flew off the handle. Throwing his hands in the air and mumbling rude comments right in front of us and telling us that we are «impossible people» and «I don’t need this from you, we don’t need your business.» Then he tried to charge us a cancellation fee and my dad very calm and sternly explained that he did not deliver what was PROMISED with the wedding color, and that he had to ask him to watch his tone with me several times, and every encounter that we had with him was the worst customer service ever. Sergio did not further argue with the fee and he processed our return very begrudgingly. When he brought the return over to us to sign, he set the paper down and threw the pen on the counter which landed on the floor for us to pick up. We said nothing more to him at that point because we knew we no longer had to deal with him.
Brides and Grooms! DO NOT GO TO MR. TUX for ANY of your wedding needs!!! And if you see Sergio, run the other way!!! They will ruin the experience for you, if I can save you any trouble at all!!!

Is there a ZERO star rating? Worse place ever. DO NOT GO HERE, THE OWNER IS VERY RUDE. My daughter and her boyfriend went there to get his prom tuxedo because they saw a Mr. Tux special being advertised in their local high school prom newsletter. Does the Wm. S. Hart School District know how terrible this place is, alliowing such a terrible business to «rip-​off» its young and naïve students? Suffice it to say, they were conveniently out of every «special» tuxedo style that would’ve qualified for the special high school price. The owner refused to let him upgrade saying he had to get whatever it is he had left in the shop. Fast forward to prom day … sadly, the color of the «dirty» white jacket did NOT match the «dirty» white pants, neither in color nor texture of material! The shoes were dirty, old and cracked. I don’t think they matched in color either! The owner didn’t care and only had rude comments to say. TOTAL RIP OFF. Buyer and Renter Beware.

TERRIBLE!!! I walked in one day to ask if they do alterations on wedding gowns that are not purchased there (since I purchase my dress online) an older man who I think is the owner responded in a very rude manner. He said he wished me good luck since I had purchased online. I told myself I would not go back to this bridal shop again. I got my dress a few weeks ago and decided to call the bridal shop again and give them another chance since it is closed to home. The same guy answer the phone. I called to make an appointment for a quote on alterations and he was just so rude. I can’t believe this place is still in business with service of this kind. I will most definitely not be needing this bridal salon. I really recommend that the owners of this place take a serious look at what keeps their business running because with individuals like the one I’ve dealt with you are only driving business away.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. Was quoted a price by another employee, owner comes in after quote and tries to up the price. After we agree to keep original price, all he does is complain, complain, complain. When you have 12 people renting from you, you don’t complain about the price, you be happy your getting my business. I would NEVER, EVER, recommend to ANYONE. DO NOT GO HERE.

I recently bought my wedding gown from Chantilly’s after a very short engagement. When I was looking for a wedding gown through bridal magazines I found a designer that I fell in love with, Justin Alexander. After searching for a bridal shop that carried this designer I found that I would have to go all the way to Pasadena. By chance I called Chantilly’s and they told me that they would be carrying the Justin Alexander line as of 2011 and they could order a sample of the dress I wanted to try on from New York.
About two weeks after I called regarding this dress I had made an appointment to go in on a Sunday, they are normally closed on Sunday’s but they will sometimes make appointments in special cases. I tried on the dress and it fit perfectly. I bought the dress that Sunday in November. I also ordered all of my girls’ bridesmaid dresses, the flower girls dresses and all of the tuxes for the wedding.
I got married just over 5 months from engagement to wedding day and Chantilly’s Bridal & Mr. Tux took care of 16 people from my wedding and all of us looked great. It takes professionals to take care of a bride during her wedding planning, especially if you are planning a wedding within a short engagement. I felt with the advice from the staff, all of us looked amazing and felt comfortable on my wedding day. I can not imagine another bridal solon being any more professional and friendly as Chantilly’s was for me.

To net it out, DO NOT GO HERE! Ordered my son’s prom tux way early. We ordered an upgraded brand, i.e. more expensive, and when we went to pick it up, we were given the lower priced brand and pants with a broken zipper. We left the pants to be fixed, came back the next day and picked up a «new pair of pants.» Guess what? The zipper worked on the new pair of pants… but the pants were the wrong size. I called on the phone and was rudely treated by Sergio, who claims to be the owner. We again went to the shop and were treated as rudely as I’ve ever been treated in my life at a retail establishment including being cursed at. Oh yea, Sergio did not want to refund the difference in what we paid for the ‘upgraded’ tux versus what we received because, «there is no difference… why do you complain… get out of here!» Again, my advice, DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

RUDE RUDE RUDE! Owner is awful! When I complained about how I was treated here, I was told, «So what? We don’t need your business.» Go elsewhere!!!

I found my dream dress here!!! I also found the owner and consultant to be very nice. However, when they measured me, something obviously was wrong, because when the dress finally came in, it was way too small, and I had not gained any weight!!! It kind of ruined the whole experience for me.
I also brought my bridesmaids here to pick out their dresses. We found two styles that were absolutely amazing! However, when any of my girls came in by themselves for any alterations, I guess the consultant was less than helpful, and down right rude in some cases.
I give it three stars, because I was very happy with all of the dresses that I purchased there, but because of the way the alterations were managed, and the way the staff treated my girls, I will probably not recommend them.
On a side note, THEY WERE A MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN DAVID“S BRIDAL!!!

ooh… ive been waiting too long to do this. Back in may of 07, i went there along with the rest of my good friends bridal party to pick out bridesmaid dresses. Aside from the fact they were really pricey (my basic black side ruched long dress was over 200 bucks) when they went to measure me, i noticed they werent holding the measuring tape correctly – way too loose. She (whoever the hell «she» was anyway) promptly told me i was incorrect and that she knew absolutely what she was doing. okay, so im not gonna get in a hair pulling fight with you miss bitch, but the size they gave me was literally 4 – 5 sizes bigger than what i normally wear. I know bridal items are sized smaller but i thought that was ridiculous. Which, coincidentally, pushed me into a plus sized bracket, adding more cost to the dress (cant remember the exact figure though) I put down half of the amount that day, with the intent to pay it off when i picked it up when it came in.
Fastforward to when the dresses are in. I used to live in Santa Clarita, but now live in Redlands, CA. about 100 miles east. So they call me, and i really didnt want to pay for it to be shipped to me – they quoted me something ridiculous like 35 or 40 bucks, so i arranged to pick it up on a saturday. 100 miles out of my way. keep this in mind…
I call them the friday before just to make sure they will be open til 5 pm, cause, hell, im driving so far out of the way, and the young man on the line assured me they were. So imagine my shock when i pull up at 4:40 and theyre CLOSED…
There were alot of choice words involved, but basically left my number on a piece of paper and for them to call me immediately. So some guy calls me, and i tell him i want it shipped, and for the hassle of driving 200 miles out of my way, i want the balanced paid for me. Well, i guess the latter was a bit too much, and i got in an argument with the guy, him saying that they will be happy to ship but theyre not going to pay the balance. I was like «eff you man, do you know the trouble you caused me?» it went on from there, and he wasnt letting up. i eventually caved cause i just want the damn dress and i dont want to stress my friend out.
And thats not where it ends, folks. so i get the dress in the mail, and what do you know!!! its the size of a sleeping bag on me!!! methinks the bitch that knew what she was doing didnt, and they pushed me into a larger price scale as a result. my alterations lady told me she had to practically make a new dress out of what i gave to her, and it cost me another 115 bucks.
These people are thieves. Watch out.

I purchased a dress at Chantilly Bridal on April 5^th. We had called 3 times to make an appointment but no one answered or returned calls. That should have been a sign. When we finally got someone on the phone they said that no appointment was needed. My sister and I went to the store and waited 30 minutes and asked 2 times if someone could help us. Finally, as we were walking out of the store, folks came over to help us. We wound up finding a dress and ordering it. On April 6^th I called and left a voice mail asking that they not place the order until I could speak to them about the color. I called back when their store opened at 10am on April 7^th and spoke to Sergio Hernandez. He said he did not know if the dress had been ordered and had no way of tracking that information. He told me to call back at 1pm and speak with Maria to see if the dress had been ordered. I called at 1pm on April 7^th and was told that Maria was unavailable and that they were not sure if the dress had been ordered and that I needed to send an e-​mail to
requesting a color change on the order. I sent this e-​mail and cc’d my sister (who the dress was for). My sister received the e-​mail but I never heard from Chantilly Bridal. On April 9^th I called to clarify if the order had been changed and was told that no one in the store was available to help me and that they would call back. I received a voice mail at 3:30 on April 9^th stating that the e-​mail I sent was never received. I called back and explained the problems I had encountered and asked that they cancel the order because I had contacted them numerous times to handle this issue with no success. They agreed to cancel the order but charged me $ 45 to do so claiming that I had signed a contract when I signed the receipt. I tried to explain that given the horrible service I felt they should waive the fee. The owner yelled at me on the phone, told me she wished I had never bought a dress from her, told me that they had charge me $ 45 to pay the sales person who helped me for an hour, and then told me she was too busy to talk to me. She made me call back the next day to process the cancellation and then would not talk to me when I called. I heard her say in the background, «That is the girl from yesterday. put her on hold.» Then she had another woman speak to me and was telling her what to say in the background. I tried to explain that while I had signed a contract they had voided it by failing to provide any customer service. They would not help me. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and saw that 4 other complaints had been filed in the last 36 months. Go across town to Cruz’s Bridal. They are amazing!
