Just a really fresh and good spot in the SCV area and the prices are awesome!!! The staff is awesome! I wish they would put on American football but I’ll pretend it’s the World Cup again !! Make sure to get the beans with your salsa and chips. Trust!

Excellent food and service! Clean and authentic! Very nice family who has been running this place for a while! My favorite is the breakfast burritos and the fried whole fish!

Our favorite Mexican food place in SCV! Amazing food! Anything you get is delicious! And the price is incredible! Very affordable. The only small downside is they only take cash, which isn’t a big deal to me. So worth it to stop by the bank on my way here! Way to go David’s café!

Don’t ever come here unless you want the owner’s wife to disrespect you. She will be by far the most bitchiest, rudest woman I’ve had the displeasure to meet. She will greet you insincerely and not bother to ask you what you would like to drink. Don’t waste your time.

This used to be El Mas Café. I ate there once, the food smelled like BO and never tried it again. Well now it’s David’s and the interior, the employees, everything appears to be the same. I go in hesitantly, mentally preparing for it to suck. I order two tacos so that when it sucks I haven’t burned much money. I take a bite and… it doesn’t suck. I know that’s not a ringing endorsement but considering how bad I expected it’d be not sucking was awesome. The carne asada was not incredible but was good. The al pastor was pretty tasty. Juicy, slightly sweet pig happiness. I spoke to the waitress and the cook afterwards trying to get a sense what had changed. The cook said«We the same. We the same. Same place for 25 years.» I disagree. Seems to me like you’ve gotten a little better. I don’t understand. Strange but true.
