Saugus Drugs & Hallmark

My boyfriend just moved to Santa Clarita, his doctor is in the valley, and he needed a reliable pharmacy to go to. I grew up in SCV, so I knew of this place and recommended it. Well, we showed up there to register him as a patient, he brought a valid prescription with him and the pharmacy staff turned him away. Apparently new patients who are on a controlled substance (Adderall or Xanax), cannot be accepted here. At least that’s what we were told. I didn’t see this anywhere on their website when I looked, and it would have been helpful to know before wasting our gas driving 6 miles from canyon country. No warm welcome here from the pharmacy staff, and a very snobby one to say the least. I won’t recommend this place again, and obviously my boyfriend won’t come back. Thanks for nothing, Saugus Drugs! What’s the point of you being here if you can’t fill prescriptions for someone who really needs them. You suck!

I can’t speak for the store itself, however I recently got sick and had my prescription sent to their pharmacy. Because of the pain I was in I could hardly move my jaws wide enough to form a coherent thought. After a short wait in line I was greeted very professionally by a (very cute) pharmacy technician. She was very understanding, even sympathetic, to my temporary handicap and within a very short time my prescription was filled and I was ready to go. The head pharmacist noticed how much pain I was in and even offered some advice to naturally reduce the pain and some of the swelling. I am very impressed with how this staff treats it’s patrons and I will definitely have all of my future prescriptions filled by their professional and caring staff.

I expected to have better customer service from a local business. They were unwilling to tell me if they had the drug I needed for my son in stock. I don’t live in the area (Agua Dulce), and could not just pop in with my written script. They were still unwilling to be of assistance. They will never get my business again. For anything. I only have one star, because it would not allow me to post without at least one.

I frequent Saugus Drugs & Hallmark for my prescriptions and to pick the brains of their Wellness Center Guru’s! I love that my pharmacy staff know me well enough to refer me to the Wellness Center when I have a health concern instead of always pointing me to over the counter medications.
I’ve recently become a new mom and have used many homeopathic remedies for myself and my baby. Nancy (at the Wellness Center) is always careful to double check that anything she recommends is safe for a breast feeding mom, I don’t even have to ask!
The pharmacy seems efficient and speedy. Communication is great, I always receive a call if my medication needs to be ordered. Often I have come to pick up my prescriptions and there is a note with my prescription that my co-​payment was reduced by a manufacturer coupon I had no clue existed!

We really wanted to like this place and recommend the USPS service. The store itself is nice, clean, with a decent Hallmark selection. Good post office selection of boxes as well. We were there to mail something out Priority Mail. We waited not more than 5 minutes and the person at the counter was very helpful. We got there at 1pm (way before the 3pm cut off time for mailing) on Saturday, paid for a Priority enveop going from Santa Clarita to San Diego. Shipment didn’t arrive into San Diego until Friday, longer than the 2 – 3 days typical of USPS Priority Mail standards. It was not in a rural area or anything out of the way. Disappointed the envelop didn’t get there for 5 days but a couple of stars for not losing the package all together. I did stop by the post office to inquire about delivery and the person there did say it could take UP to 5 days, even for Priority Mail.

The homeopathic products have been extremely effective for me! Employees are helpful, and the guy with the big hair there is extremely cute.

the service in the post office department has had a steady decline since the first of the year, 2014. Great depot for pre labeled just drop before 3. after 3pm its a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance your label isn’t read for up to 36 hours later… The young red head needs training… her sense of urgency and understanding of shipment options are terrible!
All the other areas of the store function and are great to deal with. USPS area is not easy to do business with.
Edited/​updated 5÷3÷2014: I dropped off this week at around 12:30 on Thursday, and the item wasn’t even scanned in until the evening of the following day (Friday). My 2 day package became 3 days again. Not sure of the process of transfer from this location and the USPS last pick up, but this is also a new problem. Like they take the package, throw it in a container behind them and if it doesn’t fill they leave it for the next days p/​u. My recommendation is if your item is time-​sensitive in any way, just drive the extra couple miles to the USPS office. There is a processing issue now that didn’t used to exist.

I like the mix of products and services offered here. There is a post office with a line that is never as long as the one in Valencia, Hallmark cards, gifts, a pharmacy with a helpful staff, and now even a wellness center – a satellite location for Valencia Wellness Center, apparently.
There are no shopping carts, and lots of breakable things, so shop here with small children only with caution.
There are lots of chairs available to sit on while you wait for a prescription to be filled, so yay for that, and there is often a humidifier running on the pharmacy counter, which kind of fascinates me.
The gift selection features a lot of fun items that would be suitable for girlfriend or teacher gifts, or home décor. Kind of like Hallmark, with a little kick to it. My son liked the «money soap» featured in the Christmas catalog.

Saugus drugs & hallmark although great, is totally inadequate as a post office. Are the personnel actually postal workers or just people who work at Saugus drugs. We have lost or had delayed numerous shipment which have cost us additional monies. The attitude of the personnel at Saugus drugs is (and they have said this), is everybody says this about us. It appears that the people who work in the postal dept, are a crew of «young people» who do not take their jobs seriously. Take your postal operations to the main post office. Will the general manager of Saugus drugs pls comment

Saugus Drugs is a full service old time drug store/​pharmacy with additional services such as a USPS depot and a fabulous gift area. Going here reminds me of the old Rexall Drug stores I grew up with that had everything you needed. The service here is fantastic and I love that I can hit two birds with one stone, drop off a ‘script, mail a package, pick up a greeting card and get in and out in minutes. Highly recommend.
Wish Unilocal would put this listing in the Pharmacy category; doesn’t even come up currently.

This place has been around for years. Since I was a teeny, tiny girl! I used to come here all the time for makeup during my teenage years, then I stopped. Not because there was anything wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong at all that made me stop. The store is very clean and has so many gift giving items.
Anyway… I just recently found out that there’s POSTAL SERVICE INSIDE!!!
My friend had just told me and now any time I need to pay a visit to the post office, I will always come here instead. So convenient because they never have long lines, as oppose to the one off Mc’Bean Pkway and Creekside!
