As everyone else on here that used groupon or another discount site… they were a no call, no show and did not reply to my calls. I took a day off work to have this done and I am extremely annoyed. Groupon should not continue to allow companies like this to use their services. I’m sure groupon will give me my money back, but that is really not the point. If you don’t want to offer discounts, don’t offer them. I am tempted to call the better business bureau.

Guys did and amazing job with the interior and the best they could do with the exterior (Old paint and bad paint job). I purchase a groupon and initially had to reschedule my appointment because car too long in the shop. Mark was SUPER helpful and didn’t give me a hard time at all with it. Luis and Ryan were the guys that worked on the car — very kind and took lots of care. Would absolutely recommend.

Overall I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with this company. They cancelled the first appointment because the van was on the shop. Ok. These things happen. They only had an appointment available 3 weeks later. On the day of the rescheduled appointment they did not show up. I called, texted, emailed and nothing. Two days later, I got an email from the owner saying that he was off work and did not get my messages. He didn’t seem to know why his guys didn’t show up. He apologized but I did not get a sense that he cared very much. I wish I could give them zero star. I requested and was granted the refund with Groupon.

Another groupon customer here w/​a No Show — No Call. I waited a WEEK for an appointment but today came and no one came. I called and left two messages and still nothing. Apparently they do great work if you pay full price or go to them. But if you have a groupon, they just don’t care. Asking for me $$ back.

Got a Voice mail today apologizing for the no call /​no show. He said he was just released from the hospital last night. Now normal me would totally accept that. However reading many online reviews and Unilocal reviews, this seems to be his usual excuse for missing appointments. So Im not buying it. Groupon has refunded me my money. Maybe if you call Mark directly and pay full price, he’ll show up.

These guys are awesome. They wash my car every few weeks wherever I am working out of, be it the home or the office. They take their time to make my car look great and are definitely flexible with what im looking to budget. Thanks again guys

Been getting my high end cars washed by Starr for awhile now, Mark keeps me up to date with arrivals or delays via text (not often, but this is LA, traffic always unpredictable) Even comes earlier than set time. His crew is friendly, honest, and goes a little more sometimes if you confront them with a issue or question. Thank you Starr Detail!

I am very sorry to hear of your health problems. I too have been in and out of the hospital for the last year and half so I can certainly empathize. I hope you are recovering quickly. I no longer live in the Los Angeles area, so unless you have another solution the only thing I can think of is to reimburse me the amount paid for services not rendered (not including the $ 40 tip of course). I hope you are feeling better. I must say I find it strange you were unable to follow through with our appointment (not showing or calling/​texting me back), yet able to get in touch with my friend, make an appointment and take care of his car. They called based on my referral and you took care of their car the day after nobody showed/​contacted me. I warned them that there was a solid chance you may not show up, however it was the exact opposite. It must have been your best crew as they showed up on time and the their car was done as advertised. They were able to contact you, speak with you and received a call confirming the appointment. I continued to try to reach you via email, text/​call for an entire week with no response. That mus be the reason behind your business showing «closed» and at the same time showing «open» under a new number? I believe this is the third «opening» of your business?

Starr Detail did an awesome job on my black 2012 HD Ultra Limited. I recently moved to a condo and don’t have a way to do the detailing myself. The HD was in need of some TLC that I can’t give it… and boy, she got it! Mark’s team was professional, courteous, on time (early, actually), and thorough. Made the bike look brand new. Thanks guys!

I bought a new car this summer and the first thing I needed was the windows tinted. I was referred to Mark and crew at Starr Detail and couldn’t be happier. My car was in and out and looks fantastic! Sitting and taking Mark was a pleasure. Coming from a business owner myself, I can tell he cares about his business. And his work shows. I would and have recommend Starr Detail to my friends and clients. Check them out!

I bought a used 2008 Lexus that was full of paint swirls and imperfections. After a full detail, it doesn’t even look like a seven year old car anymore. I also had all the old tint removed and new tint installed and couldn’t be happier with the quality of work they put in. I would definitely recommend Starr Detail to anyone, whether you’re looking for a detail, tint, vinyl wrap, they can do almost anything. Staff is friendly and prices are very reasonable, Highly recommended and wouldn’t go anywhere else for my detailing needs.

By far the best detail I have ever received. Not one nook or cranny left untouched. These guys are real pros. I felt like a bought a new car!

Mark and the entire crew at Starr Detail have been detailing my cars for years, and I won’t go anywhere else! Their meticulous attention to detail, and value are unparalleled. If you want anything done to your car (detail/​scratch repair/​wheel repair/​etc.), don’t hesitate on working with Starr Detail. Over the years, Starr has done everything for me, and every time they leave, my cars look better than they did when new. Keep up the good work guys!

Let me start by saying this is the first and only negative review I have ever left ( Unilocal or otherwise). I do not believe in putting negative things out there so only use my time/​energy writing positive things. That being said, one star is more than deserved. I bought a Groupon for $ 169 which included a complete detail (interior/​exterior etc). Mark sent out to kids who not only did not detail my car but didn’t even bother to vacuum, wipe down the seats, clean the rims etc. (basic things performed when I get my car hand washed). I have a massive list of all of things NOT performed which I emailed Mark per his request. He apologized and said «that is not he does business and to give them another chance to make it right». We set an appointment for 11am. I then get a text at 10:40 that morning saying they were running behind and it would be closer to 12:30. Nobody ever showed up. Despite my numerous attempts to reach Mark (emails, texts, voice messages) I never heard back from him. He took my money, never provided the services paid for ($ 169) and completely disappeared. I urge you to read other reviews before spending money for a service you will not receive. Is that considered stealing?

Looks like I’m only one of many that got tricked with the Amazon local deal. Made an appointment and they didn’t show. I called to see what was up and the guy said he would call me in 5 minutes with an answer. He never called back. I called again and now no one picks up the phone. Lame!

TODAY IS TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2015. DO NOT BUY ANY GROUPON OR AMAZON LOCAL DEALS WITH STARR DETAILS, INC.
I am just another victim of Starr Detail Inc., because I bought a groupon deal and they made me wait 2 weeks for an appointment and never showed or even called to cancel. There is a definite pattern of this merchant blew up groupon or amazon local deals customers. I immediately notified Groupon, and they issued full credit back to my credit card.
What kind of criminal are you for causing numerous people to waste their time moving things around to accommodate you, for inconvenient them, and not show up or even a cancellation? STARR DETAIL INC., YOU ARE A THIEF FOR CAUSING TONS OF PEOPLE TO WASTE THEIR TIME AND MONEY.

Starr Detail has been my go to service company for over 10 years on my 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. They came out to my house several times over the years. They always bring and use their own water from their vans. I’ve had different things done besides wash and wax. They had clay rubbed the car twice which gave it a spectacular shine. They also used a Teflon wax that they suggested which actually gave the car an even wetter glossier shine. After 17 years of owning this Cadillac, I decided to sell it last June. Although I was asking top dollar, the Buyer in Houston told me that the photos proved that I’ve taken really good care of the car and bought it without seeing it person based on the photos.
Last year I sold a 10 year old Mercedes the first weekend I had it advertised after Mark sent out his crew to wash, clay rub, wax and polish the paint and clean the leather seats and shampoo the carpets. I got full price for the car because it looked so new-​with 106 589 miles!
They are reliable, friendly, knowledgeable and do great work. I wouldn’t think of using any other company.

I purchased an Amazon Local deal and we made an appointment for the next day. At the appointment time, he called and said his person could not come due to a family emergency. We rescheduled to a week later.
Then the next week, one hour after the new appointment time had passed, I called to see why no one had showed or called. He said he would look into it and call me back. I never received a call. I left two messages and still nothing.
I called Amazon and they refunded my money. Amazon knows how to take care of customers and run a business. Starr Detailing surely does not. It was a waste of my time waiting for them during both appointments.
Don’t take your chances with them. It’s just not worth it.

I just got back from a 3 day 800+ mile motorcycle camping trip. My motorcycle (2008 Harley-​Davidson) was COVERED in dirt. Normally, I do my own work, but I’m tired and there was A LOT of work. I went on Google for a detailer in the SFV and found Mark. I used his online contact form and he called me the next day.
His quote was higher than I wanted, so I explained EXPLICITLY what I was looking for and he had a reasonable price to match it. Or so I thought.
His crew came on time, were professional and polite who answered EVERY question, then went to work. I know how it feels to be pant-​legged, so I went inside the house. (Yeah… good luck with this one boys!)
An hour goes by and I came out to offer some cold water and to poke around. I couldn’t believe what I saw and it’s a good thing I had sunglasses on. It was like 7 years ago when I first saw her on the showroom floor! I fell in love again! The spokes looked like stars! The chrome blinded me WITH sunglasses.
I got my money’s worth and then some more. They did little «extras» without charge for the job I asked for. I was impressed to say the very least. Do yourself a favor and TALK TO MARK! I don’t know about these 1 stars or 3 stars or Group On or whatever. You need to talk to Mark and tell HIM what you’re looking for. His website doesn’t provide the details I was looking for so a VOICE contact is the key. He’s a great businessman who can put something together for you like he did for me. If I could change these red stars to gold, I would. Well done Mark, I’ll be back…

Mark is not interested in taking care of ALL of his customers. I purchased an Amazon Local deal sometime ago and shortly thereafter contacted Mark at Starr detail to set up a time. Wow what difficulty. He immediately told me I would have to wait at least a week maybe more. We lobbied back and forth trying to come up with a time to get my minivan detailed. We finally came up with a date and time about 6 weeks later (amazing how getting something done in a timely manner is NOT on their radar screen).
So I’m worried since he is already acting a bit flaky but I dropped the cash and at least some people appear to be happy with his work. The day I am to meet with him, it turns out I have to be out thus I leave my wife to meet with him. I tell him I am not able to meet with him and he says he sent someone out who waited for a half hour. I was upset since my wife said no one knocked on the door or called. He never called or texted me despite my efforts to contact him. This is how you run a business?!? I told Amazon he LIED to me and should be banned from their site.
Clearly he is a pick and choose who you work for given the mixture of 1 and 5 star reviews or there is a ton of bogus 5 star planted reviews (which after dealing with this guy I think is more likely). Either way, you are taking a big risk working with this outfit. They are not professional and really don’t care about their customers. The fact that he would outright LIE to me to my face tells me a lot about who runs this outfit.
My advice is RUN the other way if you are even remotely considering this guy to do your job. Not worth the risk of headache and LIES.

Well it all started with buying my wife a Groupon for her birthday. I contacted Mark and set up an appointment for 11am today. I cancelled all of my other appointments and moved the cars so that Mark could get to my wife’s car and do a good job. Well 11am came and went and he never showed for his appointment. I called him (3) times and he never returned my call. I also emailed him, and texted him. NOTHING. Worse yet I checked my Groupon coupon and under the details it showed that my wife had redeemed the coupon at the scheduled time. SHE DIDN’T. WHAT A LIAR. I contacted Groupon and they immediately gave me credit for my purchase. I will continue to buy Groupon’s but I have learned my lesson. I will always check the reviews on Unilocal for businesses. Starr Detail has received numerous unfavorable and below ratings for just the same thing. Do your homework! I sure will.

Had a detail from a groupon deal. I can honestly say it’s the best detail I have ever had. After a summer full of kids and beach visits, I didn’t have high hopes. They went above and beyond-​will DEFINITELY use them again! Five stars!

I bought an amazon local deal for a car detail. Called the starr detail and set up an appointment, the earliest they had, 5 days later. A guy called the day off and told me he would show up around 12.40. No one ever came. I called after a few hours thinking I might had gotten the time wrong, 3 calls later he called me back stating that his car broke down and that he could not make it. My option was to reschedule. I asked why he never called me, the customer, to let me know this, but he had been to busy trying to get ahold of AAA. Right.
I called the office once again, but all day long no one has answered the phone, neither called me back. Luckily amazon is amazing and they credited me back for the deal. Please don’t waste your time, the reviews don’t lie…

Starr Detail was great. I own a 2015 Subaru STI and if anything happens to it I can not go on. Well yesterday while parking to go into Auto Zone, I of course scratched my rims!!! IT WAS THE END OF THE WORLD!!! WHAT DO I DO??? I started to call a bunch of Mobile Rim repair places and no one would come, I even offered an extra couple hundred bucks! All No’s! Then I found Starr Detail on Google and spoke with the owner, who is a hell of a nice guy. I told them my life threatening situation and he stated that he normally doesn’t work on Sunday, but he could hear the hurt in my voice. So he asked for my address and he acted like it was no big deal. I thought they were in L.A. He didn’t tell me that he drove all the way from Santa Clarita on a SUNDAY!!! Wow, they went above and beyond. Then when he got here I had one more surprise, it was two wheels, not one. He said, OK, no problem. So I let them at it. An hour later he texted me and said he was done. I went down to the garage and the rims looked perfect. It was amazing, it was MAGIC!!! This is a hell of a company that will be getting a lot more of my business as my mechanic, Yimi Motor Sports just happens to be across the street from them, small world. Don’t hesitate, just use Starr Detail, you will thank yourself.

On the business side, I would give it a 2 star.
But on the actual detail, I’ll give it a 4 star. So middle ground is 3 stars.
I purchased an Angie’s List deal and set an appointment a few weeks out. I corresponded with them via Angie’s List internal message system (it’s how Angie’s List works). I left my phone number and asked that they call me in case there were any changes to the appointment.
On the day of the appointment I took the afternoon off work as we had set an appointment for 12:00pm. For some reason, they sent me a message via the Angie’s List internal messaging at 11:15am, but I never got it till after 2:00pm. Mark stated that a machine used in the cleaning had broke down and they had to cancel all appointments. But since I didn’t get the message till several hours later, as fas as I was concerned, they were basically a no-​show. They had my contact number but they never thought to call me directly. And the messaging service via Angie’s List seemed to have a delay.
To be honest I tried to get a refund via Angie’s List but it was going to be a hassle so I decided to give them a second chance. Mark (the owner) sounded very apologetic via email so I rebooked for the following week.
On the day of the appointment, Tony showed up and he did an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING job. He went over and beyond what I would have thought an auto detail would be. He spent hours on my vehicle. Although I have nothing to compare this detail to as I have never gotten a detail before, I was very impressed. My husband had been very skeptical about me purchasing this detail but he was also extremely impressed.
If the business side was run better, I’d give it a solid 4 stars, but in reading some of the other reviews, it sounds like they need to work on the customer service.
