Advanced Auto has been family owned and operated since 1998. We believe in providing honesty, integrity and value to our customers. Our primary goal is to get you on the road as quickly as possible, with a safe and sound car, knowing that we have given you the best possible service and value for your money. We are a full service auto repair shop, specializing in both foreign and domestic vehicles. Ron Shoemaker, the owner and operator, is a factory trained, ASE certified, Subaru and Mazda specialist.

Our services include factory maintenance, engine repair, A/​C and heating, tune ups and oil changes, transmissions, fuel injection, cooling systems, electrical, brakes, suspension, exhaust systems and more. Additionally, we are certified Mazda and Subaru mechanics.

While we do strive to provide same day service, we also provide a shuttle service to customers who need to be picked up or dropped off in the local area while we’re working on your vehicle.

Business Owner

Ron Shoemaker began Advanced Auto in 1998 and is a 4^th generation Santa Cruzan. Ron had his first job at age 14, and always some sort of wheels to get himself there. His high school teacher and mentor, Jack Dufour, encouraged Ron to pursue an automotive trade school. After specializing in Mazda and Subaru and graduating from the country’s première accredited school for automotive technicians, Universal Technical Institute (UTI), Ron returned to Santa Cruz to begin his career in the automotive field. Having worked at local dealerships, Ron decided it was time to develop his own model of the perfect automotive repair service center.

Ron’s handshake still counts for what being a good neighbor should mean — knowing someone is there who cares, someone you can count on. At our shop there’s always a cozy chair and a cold drink, a biscuit for your pooch, and the knowledge that you’ll be treated like family, with honesty and caring.
